Alex was absolutely first class in monitoring and dealing with my purchase, I have bout and sold 14 houses in the past and by far Alex has been the most professional and helpful agent I have dealt with genuinely surprised how good the service was will 100% use this chap and company in the future

A pleasure to work with throughout the transaction. Always contactable, quick to respond when offers were being negotiated, and proactive in chasing solicitors whenever anything was outstanding. Their communication was excellent from start to finish, making for a smooth process and a very positive working relationship.

Very good service on purchase

Overall our experience with BHS was very good. Initially we had a few issues contacting the person looking after the property when trying to make offers and deal with the initial price negotiations but once Alex took over the process during the later stages he was very much a driving force of getting the purchase over the line, keeping us in the loop and being the go between with ourselves and all other parties.

I bought a property through BHS and the procedure was seamless

I bought a property through BHS and the process was hassle free. I would describe it as seamless. The staff kept checking on intervals to ensure a smooth flow until completion. My £2000 withholding deposit was immediately transferred to me on completion.

I had a great experience purchasing a property through this agency. The whole process was smooth from start to finish and communication was excellent throughout. Responses were always quick, updates were clear, and I was kept informed every step of the way.

So disappointing

Their marketing states that ‘On average we are securing offers within 2 to 4 weeks’ and that they have ‘buyers ready and waiting to buy properties’. Sounds too good to be true - and that’s because, in my experience, it is. They haven’t managed to secure a single viewing in three months, let alone an offer. I understand the market is very tough but the truth is that other flats in our block have had viewings - and they’re on at a higher price. Something has clearly gone wrong and BH simply aren’t doing enough to sell. I have lost confidence in them and feel mad that time with BH has been wasted. Much better to stick with a proper high street estate agent.

We’re really sorry we haven’t met expectations in this case.

Over the 8 weeks we’ve been marketing the property, we’ve unfortunately struggled to secure the level of traction we would normally expect.

As you mentioned, there are currently two other one-bedroom flats within the building which you shared have received viewings. However, neither has successfully sold, with one having been reduced four months ago and another having been on the market for around 10 months. More broadly, within a quarter of a mile, the majority (83%) of one-bedroom apartments currently on the market also remain unsold. Those that have sold, did so prior to the recent Middle East conflict and resulting market uncertainty.

Unfortunately, the market for properties of this type has become increasingly challenging in recent weeks, particularly following wider economic uncertainty and market shifts, which appear to have impacted buyer confidence locally.

We completely understand how frustrating this is when trying to sell your property, and we’re genuinely sorry we’ve fallen short of the expectations created by our marketing and the results we would normally aim to achieve.

As discussed with you directly, given the lack of progress, we agreed at your request to stop marketing earlier than originally planned.

We do sincerely wish you all the very best with your future sale.

House purchase

Couldn’t fault the service

British Homesellers handled our purchase really well. Unfortunately the sellers weren’t in a position to move as quickly as we had first hoped but this was not a fault of British Homesellers, and when we contacted Fallon for advice, she did support us by chasing information and getting answers for us.

Amazing!!

Impressed with BHS

Moving house can be a stressful and complicated process to go through. I found BHS to be very helpful throughout. I spoke mainly with Robert, but also Charles, both of whom had a calm friendly manner and took the time to explain things when asked. I needn't have worried about BHS being an 'online' agent as they were very accessible over the phone. They always followed up on things when they said they would, can't fault them.

Misleading service charge information

The staff were helpful, responsive, and communicative throughout the process, which I appreciated.

However, the service charge was presented significantly lower than it actually was — the true figure turned out to be nearly 40% higher once official documents were reviewed. This is a material detail that should have been verified or clearly caveated in line with the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. It suggests that information provided by sellers is not adequately checked before listing.

As a result, I lost time and incurred unnecessary costs before discovering information that directly impacted my decision to proceed.

Overall, a positive interaction with staff, but a lack of due diligence on key information.

5 Case Road Sale

Our sale was held up by various Land Registry issues for over a year. Charles at British Home sellers was absolutely brilliant, so kind and empathetic throughout the whole process. Highly Recommend

First Time Buyer, Very Pleased

As a first time buyer, I was very surprised to see British Homesellers operating as the agents for the property I purchased. Although they were not local to my area, the company endeavoured to keep me updated with whether the vendors accepted my offer, along with any issues along the way.

People were concerned that they were not established in the town, however I can happily say that they responded promptly to my emails and calls and established a smooth transition on the day of completion. I am a very happy customer!
