Arise Sir Tom Johnson of Dyno
I am easily displeased by products and services but yesterday's experience with Dyno plumber Tom Johnson filled me with hope for the future and told me that Dyno Plumbing are one of the rare service companies who go the extra yard to do their job properly. I wasn't even a direct customer of Dyno - they came out to my dripping taps and seized zone valves as sub-contractors to British Gas who provide me with plumbing insurance.
Both jobs were awkward: the dripping (newly-installed) tap was on a small corner basin in a cloakroom and the zone valves had been left dangling by a previous plumber who thought that was OK.
Tom spent ages not just fitting new taps but over and above the call of duty insisted on fitting isolation valves beneath them to make life easier for the next plumber. And fitting the new zone valves was tricky as it wasn't obvious what the previous plumber had done.
But before he tackled the zone valves, Tom spotted a leak from my immersion tank which I hadn't seen before. It wasn't on his job sheet and I suspect it wasn't covered by my insurance, but Tom couldn't/wouldn't ignore it. He fixed it by tightening up the closures on the top of the tank before starting on the zone valves.
Finally, he inspected my water tank in the loft at his own instigation and removed from it a lot of rotting timber which had fallen in over time. He told me that he should really also replace the hot water flow valve as it didn't turn off fully but, unsurprisingly, he ran out of time having been here for over 3 hours.
Tom told me was 25 and had been with Dyno for 5 years - who, he said, were an excellent firm to work for. That's easy for me to believe but Dyno are lucky to have him as he is a great asset and the best possible advertisement for his employers. He was also quiet, very polite and I told him before he left that I wanted to adopt him.
I have rarely, if ever, been so impressed by a tradesperson and the ethos of the firm he works for. Thank you, Tom. Thank you, Dyno.

Excellent service from Dyno!
Tom Kelly came on the 27th of November to fit a new mixer tap in our kitchen. He did an excellent job with which we are completely satisfied. He was most courteous, friendly and polite, and gave good advice. Many thanks and well done Tom!
