This UK Government agency?? Keep sending threatening letters demanding money for a TV license I do not need at my home and my business address.
Completed no license required several times, in fact sick of completing it. I also do not agree that they should be taking email addresses from people who are simply trying to telling them, no license required.
Not sure if this company is registered under data protection act to store personal details about members of the public.
Another issue with recording no license required on their website, after completing personal details, you submit form and it stupidly states ‘thanks for telling us the property is EMPTY.’ I have NEVER told them the property is empty. I have been at the address for last almost 12 years!!
BBC should spend the public money more wisely. I know they gave an Independent TV production company based in Bristol, around £1 million to produce a rediculous documentary on LORD LUCAN. Complete utter waste of £1 million pounds. The production sent two men off to Australia. I had informed the production company pre production, that Lord Lucan 7th Earl of Lucan died in London by suicide on 8th November 1974.
Just got a letter through my door threatening me.
Just got a letter through my door, it acknowledges that I have reported that I don't need a license but also threatens me to get one all in the same letter.
Why send me harassing messages? It won't do a thing, I'm never paying a PDO's wages, full stop. Disgusting BBC scum.
Set UP TO PUNISH THE POOR
Set UP TO PUNISH THE POOR
If you are rich enough, you can pay an annual lincence fee without additional charges £180 per annum.
If you are POOR, and unable to afford the full amount of £180, you will be charged additional charges - at least £5 or more.
As the majority of British society are POOR —around half of the population, approximately 30 million people—are charged £5 each, that is £150,000,000 a year.
All this END UP in the INDIVIDUALS POCKETS, who are policy makers the bourgeoisie, the capitalists.
British society has moved away from a culture THAT PUNISHES THE POOREST PEOPLE
Moved address
Moved address, changed address. It is new build estate so didn't recognise address, now cannot log in and TV licence officers knocking on the door and receiving letters.
I would put no star
I would put no star. I hope this company realise how much they waste paper ( super not eco friendly) and money in sending threats to people who dont really have tv, like me. I dont have TV, I dont watch live shows etc.

I spoke to Wayne on 16th April about cancelling my TV licence. I was having a bad day, my mood was low and I offloaded to Wayne about how there was nothing good in the news and nothing enjoyable on TV. He was so kind and understanding, and even went through a list of certain programmes that would hopefully make me feel better and "put a smile" on my face! In the short time that we spoke, I can honestly say that Wayne lifted my mood and made my day so much better. I'm so grateful for the time he took to listen, and for making a big difference...THANK YOU! Julie
Just tried to cancel my tv license and…
Just tried to cancel my tv license and they refused to cancel it. Who the hell do these people think they are? Spoke to the most arrogant, rude woman I have ever spoken to on the phone. I have now cancelled my direct debit, only way to stop these arrogant anti british parasites it seems. I will never renew my license again. I know that means losing other tv companies and channels but worth the sacrifice to keep the BBC's anti British agenda out of my home and families life.
The most infuriating site
The most infuriating site. If you want to contact them you have to jump through hoops to get to a page that says 'still need to contact us'. You then put in what your query is which takes you back to the links of faqs! No way of contacting them if your query is not answered with one of these pre-set answers.
Demanding payment up-front for a service that hasn't yet expired, what's going on!!?
Received a new 'payment plan' from TV licensing recently, based over a seven month period in order to pay the new and outlandish £180 licence fee with the first payment starting on 13th April, but my current licence doesn't end until 30th April, '26, so, what we're effectively seeing is a demand that licence fee customers pay up front for a service that hasn't yet expired, what a nerve, eh?
Like many, I'm moving to a 'streaming only' service as I prefer the greater content and choice than what's offered up by the BBC and its devoted band of acolytes, together with the fact that streaming provides viewing entertainment that I wish to watch instead of the usual cooking, sewing, baking and pottery junk that the Beeb serves up as so-called 'entertainment', well no thanks, I'm moving on to greener pastures I'm happy to say.
Told them to stop harassing me with…
Told them to stop harassing me with letters many times. These degenerates harass and refuse to stop sending tv licensing letters and emails even though i have told them time and time again i do not need one. Received a threatening letter today stating 'an officer will visit your property soon' and when i go onto the website stated in the letter to let them know for the 572nd time i don't need a license it says the website is currently down. The worst company going. Couldn't think of any worse. I'd hate to be an elderly person without the use of a computer or inability to email and get harassed this way.
I don't own or watch a box
I don't own or watch a box, and I love the fact you waste money sending me letters. Ive been getting these letters for about 15 years. They all go in the recycling.
The letters are just templates that go in a cycle. Once you've had letters one through 5, you get letter 1 again.
I'd love to know what it's cost you in paper, ink and postage over the years.
The letters dont bother me 1 bit. I wish you'd waste even more money getting a warrant to enter my property and see i don't have a TV.
It amazes me there are people who actually watch it. And others who actually pay to consume their own mind programming. Ahahahah!
Genuinely dreadful
Genuinely dreadful. I have a license, that isn't the issue, but I wanted to contact them and have had multiple barriers and the worst kind of end when the system cut me off. I accept how many hate them, but this isn't about that, but basic connectivity and support. There isn't any.
They keep sending letters that I don't…
They keep sending letters that I don't have a licence, which one o don't require because I don't watch TV. But hey, let's try to sort it online - nope, they will keep insisting I require one. They can kiss my ass when they will finally send someone to my address after month of letter harassments
Tv Licensing is nothing more than a corporate bully.
I received a blood-red letter from TV Licensing addressed to the "Legal Occupier" of my new residence stating that "An Officer has been scheduled to visit my property to find out if a TV is being watched, recorded, or downloaded illegally". This despite the fact that I had updated my address at the tv licensing website over 2 weeks prior to receiving this nasty, intimidating letter. I wrote back to them and complained and asked for a goodwill gesture but they dug their heels in and said no. This company is the pits. If an individual stalked, hounded, threatened, bullied, and coerced another innocent victim the way that the bosses at tv licensing badger innocent TV viewers, that person would be dragged before a judge and jailed. Around half a million households cancelled their TV licence in 2024. It's not hard to see why.
Tv licence you can kindly stick your…
Tv licence you can kindly stick your license you know where! I dont own tv as i hate tv! And you thete to send me some warning letters?? You will be reported for harassment!
Kind regards
IGNORE THEM! Don't get put on their list of easily intimidated people!
They are extortion scumbags.
My elderly mother called them to say she didn't need a TV licence, but because they greedily missed their £200 a year, they claimed they had the right to enter her private property to "check".
Unfortunately she got so scared that she was doing something wrong that she paid up just to get the gangsters off her back. (She does not have a TV or internet access!)
I never replied to their spam junk mail, and I didn't receive another threat. That should tell you.
Just look at their old advertising and propaganda on Coronation Street! Treated as a social leper worse than J Savile for not watching a box!
Once you contact them they know you are easily intimidated and will up their threat level.

Awful experience trying to renew with new address - I had technical issues online so the system said I’d have to phone up, only for the phone line to redirect me to the website with no real person to speak to
what the most awful lot to deal with
what the most awful lot to deal with. the systems and processes they have are so bad its un real. took me an hour to change a DD, systems cut you out and even whats app keeps ending the chat. nearly cancelled for this reason alone
It's a shame zero stars doesn't exist…
It's a shame zero stars doesn't exist as TV Licensing customer 'care' really deserve this! I changed the address of one of my two TV licences when we moved from the family home in September. However, today I received an email that had renewed the licence using the old postcode. Of course, absolutely impossible to speak to someone on the phone so 15 minutes to get through endless select 5 if ..etc but still ended up on a WhatsApp chat with a bot which it then took about 10 minutes of giving the same details to get past. And another 30 to give the information repeatedly to an agent,, in particular repeated my main message several times which was to change the name and address of the numbered licence to a new address in the name of my husband... The upshot of this was that then agent changed his name only and then said he had to ring up on another number to change the address as they could no longer deal with me as I was not now the named client ! I asked why she hadn't changed the address first but she just repeated that he now had to ring to change the address. I have cancelled the direct debit that I generally pay and they can now deal with my husband where I'm sure he will manage to waste their time in setting up the direct debit they want which is why I generally pay them. Just because they're a public service and have a monopoly shouldn't mean that they think they can just waste their customers time like this... But clearly they see the opportunity
