Nightmare company
Choose another web hosting company, save yourself the headache.
Worst possible company ever to do business with. Several of us had a gentleman create web pages for us. Fast forward this man passed away. Upon contacting Netfirms and after many emails (as they do not answer phones) they refused to let us have access to our own web pages that we paid for.
Overbilled me multiple times
Billed me for two years for services for a website where the domain expired. Cost me ~$300 in two years for no service. Absolutely refused to do anything about it and customer service was less than useful.
For my current domain they even billed me more than their posted rates (by ~$20). Offered me a "discount" that was almost the same price as their posted rates.
Absolutely terrible.
Zero competence and customer respect
Even though I have been with netfirms a long time and I can no longer find my site on the net due to ''technical difficulties'' they do not respect me as a customer just offering a 1-month discount on hosting. Note that this has all happened years ago and they guaranteed it would not happen again. If there was an option for zero on the star scale that would be more appropriate.
Website update won't publish!
I've been trying to publish an important update my website for three days now. The chat representatives are nice enough but they keep just giving one excuse after another. If your website is important to you I advise against using Netfirms.

I have been a customer for over 10 years, the last four years service has gone downhill, rates are going up every month and they disregard the original contracts as they change rules any time they please. They lie like when you try to get website builder at 6.99 a month and when you get the service they charge double, on the guise that if you renew it goes double, bad experience I want to move my website to another hosting provider but they charge fees to move your site. Stay away dishonest company that comes from a trapped customer with Netfirms.

I've been with Netfirms for over 10 years. The hosting price keeps going up, and the service keeps going down. My website was giving issues so I contacted customer support. Fast forward three months later, every Tech person has a different reason why it is not working properly. Now I have to pay an additional $37 for an SSL certificate for a year even though my hosting expires in 7 months. I'm looking for a new provider. They don't care about their customers.

I tried to renew my account with an agent. He seemed helpful but added a 2nd renewal to begin in 2026. I told him I was retiring next year so I didn't require the 2nd renewal, please remove it. He said it could not be removed, to simply remove it after Aug. 8, 2024. On Aug 16 I tried removing it. An error message appeared "Account renewal cannot be canceled". I spoke to an agent again for technical assistance removing the unwanted renewal. He said, "I am sorry we cannot remove the account renewal for 2026 but I made a note on your account". Then I read all these reviews and figured I owe it to my brothers and sisters to share my experience.
I will not even discuss the downtime and unresponsive servers. Please stay away ...far away.
Started out great a few decades ago, now it feels like a nightmare
I have been a Netfirms client for several decades, throughout that time trying to ride the waves of unresponsive customer service, broken systems, you name it. At this point I have truly just had enough and transferred my domains (6) to another company. In an attempt to part ways on somewhat amicable terms, I tried to close my account and now they are making that simple task difficult. Although I had high hopes in the beginning for a great relationship, clearly the trust was broken and now I'm moving on. I would NOT recommend Netfirms in any way, shape, or form.
Lies and Double Billing for email accounts
I have been using this company since 2008 and in the past couple of years they have gone way down hill. They double billed me for email accounts. When I asked them about the upcoming charge it they said that it was annual charge was for an email account the I had clearly paid in Feb. They then changed their story and said the upcoming renewal charge was for additional email account "space" that I wasn't using. I have 3 email addresses and I am paying for 4. The sad part is that I have been double billed for this space for at least 3 years. The rep Abhishek was terrible. DO NOT USE NETFIRMS!

Upon contacting Netfirms custormer service,
the solution would cost me a 100 USD.

Long time customer.
I have been a long-time customer for over 10 years. I just had enough. They do not have proper phone service and their chat is difficult to deal with. Do not trust them. Even though your domain payment is due on the last day. They do not work with their customers to cancel domains they wish to discontinue. I spent one hour to cancel a domain I would not use , and they charged me anyway. I asked to rearrange another domain payment, but they refused. Their website is not user-friendly, and if you are tech-savvy. This will not work. I had numerous issues with this company. I do not recommend them, unfortunately. Please be careful when signing up a domain with these people. They will just take your money and don't care if you have tech. issues on their site. They are awful. The public deserves better in terms of working out what helps them. It is even worse when you have been a long-time customer and they are not willing to work with you. Please do yourself the favour and find another company who cares about customers not just taking their money. Disgraceful.
