Cory expertly helped me and my husband plan an incredible five weeks in Japan, with the first nine days including our two young adult daughters. Beginning as late as the end of September, she carefully listened to our wishes via initial emails and many helpful Zoom calls, masterfully planning a marvelous, comprehensive itinerary, the beginning of which was at the height of the very busy cherry blossom season- Bravo! Cory worked hard to ensure we were comfortable, confident and excited about our itinerary. She provided us with invaluable documents to self guide and practical support such as WiFi routers and transfers to and from the airport.

With a keen understanding of a country she clearly has a deep love for, she skillfully handled all the many, many details- she booked us excellent hotels, kept us on track with train tickets going everywhere, had extensive, scrumptious restaurant recommendations, and was ever at the ready to help if we ran into any issues. This brought great comfort and peace of mind while we were extensively traveling in a country for the first time.

The local tour guides Cory has relationships with brought so much fun, enjoyment, and understanding of Japan’s history, food, nature and culture. We reveled in an entertaining, delectable Izakaya/pub food tour, a stunning, snowy walk through Kamikochi, a delicious street food tour in Osaka, dressing in traditional kimonos and learning about the tea ceremony, an interesting insider castle tour and sake tasting in Matsumoto, an insightful geisha tour in Kyoto and more. We will fondly remember the many marvelous guides and artisans Cory connected us with! Other highlights included forging knives, walking the Nakasendo trail for a day, painting our own lacquer wear bowls, the quiet peace of relaxing in a mountain ryokan, biking through a beautiful park, hiking Mt Misen on Miyajima Island, and immersing our attention in the many shrines, temples, castles, and museums.

This self-guided tour was perfect for us! The company provided an easy-to-follow itinerary and an incredible list of restaurant recommendations. We tried everything from sushi in Tokyo to okonomiyaki in Osaka. My zoom with Cory helped at the beginning as well. What a wonderful experience. From start to finish, we were so lucky to deal with Cory who clearly knows everything about Japan.
