Amazing
I had an amazing experience learning to ride a moped with these guys. I'd never really ridden before so I was a bit anxious, however Joe put me totally at ease and I really enjoyed everything about the day.

Had a great experience at ACBT. Went from never having rode a motorbike to being able to confidently ride a motorbike within a days training. My instructor was brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed the ability to take my CBT within a group of friends.

Primeramente agradecer al instructor José un señor español muy amable que explica con ejemplos lo que hay que hacer.. los dos profesores son muy amables explican muy bien y tienen mucho conocimiento sobre el asunto. Muy recomendado, incluso si no hablas mucho inglés José te lo dice en Español, eso es un extra.

Great place to do your CBT
Joe and Barney were great instructors - everything was explained patiently and clearly with good humour, plus they demonstrated all manoeuvres before we tried them.
Felt in safe hands throughout, so going out on the road for the first time was nowhere near as daunting as I first imagined. Highly recommended.

DAS assessment
I decided to take my DAS assessment at ACBT after coming from a bigger and well-known motorcycle training centre (where I had a rather disappointing experience). I am so glad I did. My instructor (Jose) actually took the time to understand my riding experience and provided really helpful and constructive feedback after the session, which left me feeling far more confident and sure of what I need to next. I will definitely be returning to ACBT to complete my full license after I spend a few months on an A1 bike to get some road experience.

Brilliant 1h motorcycle lesson with Joe
I have done a 1 hour motorcycle lesson on 125cc. Joe is a great instructor, patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I truly enjoyed the experience, and I have now booked a CBT course. I look forward to it.
The company has top-notch customer service. Lisa and Harry rearranged my lesson for another day after I was very late for it. Thank you so much.

First time on a bike
I had a wonderful time learning even for my first time I was nervous but as it continued I got Better at riding and my instructor ( I forgot his name 😂) was such a nice guy and patient with me as well in all honesty It was really fun !!

Fantastic experience with ACBT
I had a fantastic experience with ACBT. Joe is a wise, interesting and fantastic teacher. I had never ridden before and if you're looking for real, constructive feedback whilst learning, this is the place. Shout out to Barney and Lisa. Thanks for accommodating me and I appreciate what you do. I'll be back!
ACBT are safety first and if you cannot control the bike, especially on a geared bike (you'll know), they offer a great continuation option. Yes, it may sting but don't get lost in your ego.

A very positive experience having done…
A very positive experience having done a CBT course with Joe, who I think is a great instructor.
First time on a motorcyle and even though I decided to pick the geared option (which technically is a bit more challenging than automatic), I managed to acquire the initial necessary skills and knowledge to become comfortable on the road by the end of the course.
This was primarily because of Joe's careful guidance and feedback throughout the whole process.
I would definitely recommmend ACBT and looking forward to having more lessons with them, potentially leading to a full motorcycle license.

Daylight robbery
Daylight robbery. Was told on the phone the course is designed to pass the rider so no need to try a ride. Never ridden a bike, spent c.90 mins riding a 125cc (note.the other rider on the day had 50cc half the size and passed ironically). Paid £170 for a course that lasted 3hrs! Was told by Lisa on the phone that needed to book a continuation course for £95, again, daylight robbery. Avoid.

Thank you for taking the time to express your opinion. We always welcome reviews. We love praise learn from criticism however your comments are inaccurate and misleading.
Our instructors use bodycams and we have now reviewed the footage.
We understand that it may be disappointing for you to have fallen short of the standard required to achieve the CBT.
At not point were you told "the course is designed to pass the rider" as this is simply not true. DVSA regulations on this point are very clear. The trainee must demonstrate successful completion of all elements throughout the course. You did not. Our instructor has been teaching for eight years and has never said this to any trainee least of all you. The bodycam supports this.
We took every possible step at every stage to help by providing you with the best possible advice, even from your initial contact by phone. Our instructor took your initial call and spent a long time discussing your options, offering you guidance and advising you as to your best pathway. His advice was that you should train on an automatic bike as, having no prior experience, you would find it easier.
You decided instead to choose the geared bike. On the day our instructor again took the time to discuss with you your options and, again, explain how the manual bike may prove too difficult to master in one day. You changed your mind and the instructor personally took the time to change the manual bike we had prepared for an automatic. We find that to be extremely helpful and beyond the call of his duties on the day, although you don't appear to have mentioned this in your feedback.
We note you have taken issue with the fact one trainee was on a 50cc whilst you were on a 125. At no point during the day did you raise this as an issue. Had you done so we would have been happy to explain our reasoning behind the allocation of scooters.
From the bodycam footage the only comment you made on the day in this respect was that the scooter was heavier than the 10kg bicycle that you were used to riding up until that point.
The scooter you were riding weighs 100kgs. The 50cc scooter you mention weighs 90 kgs, a negligible difference. In the manual handling exercises of the CBT course you demonstrated a comfortable ability to handle the weight of the motorcycle. Had we noticed anything untoward we would have taken appropriate action as safety is our prime concern.
You are correct, the trainee on the 50cc did attain the DL196 certificate yet this was not down to the fact she was riding a 50cc. Like you, she had never ridden a motorcycle before. Unlike you, she was able to demonstrate safe and competent handling of the motorcycle in all the elements. She was further able to demonstrate an extremely impressive knowledge of the highway code during element d and, finally, made great progress on the two hour road ride during element e.
The reason you had difficulty was not because your scooter was 10 kgs heavier. You had difficulty with basic control. You struggled with the slow control exercises and failed to successfully complete the figure eight and u-turn tasks. You had difficulty co-ordinating the use of the throttle and rear brake. Your habit of looking down prevented you from making safe progress in turns and causing you to run wide. On the emergency stop exercise you tend to snatch the brakes.
These are all dangerous therefore on completion of element c you were advised that you needed further training to progress. All this was explained to you in detail on the day with the utmost courtesy.
With regard the duration, the CBT course started at 0900 and finished at 1605. Seven hours is standard for a CBT. The fact you finished earlier is because you did not complete element c and therefore were not entered into elements d and e, as per DVSA regulations.
Yours is the first negative comment we have received since we opened. We hope this reply offers a more balanced explanation of the day's events.
