Horrible horrible horrible. 1 star is too many. I spent near $5000 on accepted “consulting” and it’s a complete sham. First of all, I went with Accepted to get actual consulting regarding application strategy. What they did it just provide me with additional writing prompts for the school application essays which didn’t help at all and were a complete waste of time. The “consultant” had no strategy on how to make me stand out on the application, or what I should highlight about my experience. All they did is ask me what I want to talk about… They were also very late to answering emails every time I had a question and never provided concrete answers to anything - just vague open ended responses. And, as soon as I our paid time was done they stopped responding. I had a simple wrap up question and they didn’t even bother answering. Overall a complete and utter waste of money. Everyone told me not to use them but I didn’t listen. Be careful, in the intro call they make it sound like they know it all and are gonna get you into top programs but after you pay they say let’s apply to just lower tier programs… SAVE YOUR MONEY - STAY AWAY.

I just wanted to drop a note to sing the praises of Madison Searle, one of the consultants at Accepted.

Madison assisted our son James as he navigated the perilous college application process. Given the significant price tag, I had some initial misgivings about securing a consultant. Madison, however, quickly dispelled any reservations that I may have harbored.

His guidance and encouragement were phenomenal. The entire college admissions process, including the innumerable essays and personal statements, presents an inordinately stressful experience for today’s high school students. Madison delivered sage advice, offered key strategies and tactics for crafting original and engaging writing submissions, and instilled an overall sense of confidence . . . all of which reduced anxiety by several orders of magnitude. Indeed, I came to have such faith in Madison’s guidance that I acceded to my son’s desire to submit his early applications without any parental review whatsoever.

My son has always been exceedingly independent and it came as no surprise that he wanted to pursue the application process without family members, no matter how well-meaning, looking over his shoulder. So his early decision and early action applications all went out without me seeing a single word of any essay or a single line of the submission materials. I have enormous belief in my son and his capabilities, but I confess that this level of hands-off parenting gave me some apprehension.

But my son trusted Madison. And so did I.

When all was said and done, our son was accepted early decision to his first choice: the Cornell University College of Engineering.

Once accepted, my son finally shared his various essays and personal statements. They were well-crafted, articulate and absolutely genuine. That is, Madison had guided James in such a way that his true voice rang clear in each of the writing submissions. Too often, the essays and submissions from students with consultants come across as overly polished, stilted and artificial, reeking of aggressive re-writes and straining credulity. Madison ensured that James’s efforts reflected his own authentic vision and insights. No doubt that served James well with the admissions officers reviewing his submissions.

Finally, Madison expressed a genuine concern for James as he prepared his applications, making himself available as needed during the process and providing crucial feedback and assurance.

Madison represents an enormous asset to Accepted. I recommend him, wholeheartedly and without reservation, to other parents and students working through the college application process.

Though the price tag was steep, his contributions were worth every penny.

The help that Madison provided throughout my application process I believe is what helped me receive an offer from my top two programs. He helped me tremendously by proofreading and providing constructive feedback on the essays in my application including my personal statement and secondary questions. He also helped me prepare for my interviews which made that experience go a lot smoother than expected. I highly recommend his services.

Madison was extremely helpful and easy to work with throughout the writing process. His guidance and insight helped me frame my writing in a way I couldn’t have on way my own. With his help I was able to get into my #1 choice school and I highly recommend his services.

I would recommend Accepted, and specifically their consultant Alice, for application assistance to anyone seeking help with the daunting task of university applications. I enjoyed that I was matched with Alice because she has extensive experience in the specific department I was applying to. Her insights were targeted, smart and it worked. I was accepted to one of four programs so far, and expect I will be accepted to more in the coming weeks. Hiring Accepted for their consulting services is a decision I will never regret.

Cannot recommend. There are much better admission consultants out there. They promise to lift your letter of motivation to another level but they simply don't, as they are unable to. Some of their consultants have worked in "admissions before but for very low profile schools or only in admin/support roles.

The feedback I got from them on my draft was just so much underwhelming. It was not much different to what a friend or parent would have written, like some common knowledge ideas on grammar and basic content that could still be included. Feedback has been as simple as "do mention some courses you want to take". Well, yes one can do that, but it just didn't work with the overall spirit of my visionary essay. So a completely unsuitable comment.

Certainly not "bringing my essay to another level" and ways too pricey for such simple dumb feedback. I paid around $500 for 1h of work from one of their consultants, and I got basically nothing back. Nothing of the "feedback" was usable.

A complete waste of money!

When I gave feedback to them, saying that I was not happy and that this was just neither what they promised nor what I had expected from the descriptions on their website, they were rude and unhelpful.

she is compassionate, understanding, dependable and her work is par excellence. She really takes the time and is very flexible and understands the stress a med applicant is going through which all consultants do not really do! I will be getting help from Cydney again for my residency application when the time comes.

Working with Dr. Barry Rothman was a great experience. He is very organized and clear, and responds quickly to my emails. Dr. Rothman's guidance and support have been invaluable in this process. I learned so much from him, and after months of working together, I am glad I got accepted into the postgraduate program of my interest. Thank you so much Dr. Rothman.
