REPORT!!!
Listed my car on Facebook marketplace and instantly got a message from
Adam Phillip - unfortunately I fell for it.
He stated he will only buy the car if it’s had an Ace inspection. He didn’t mind covering the cost in the total bill of the car. Very realistic interest.
However after I did it, sent him the proof his messages disappeared. I then researched the website and called the bank. My bank cancelled the transaction but also as I was on the phone another transaction of £950 in the USA was performed. But luckily my card was already blocked.
Don’t fall for this SCAM
Unfortunately this mans message escaped “spam messages” but upon looking in my spam since I’ve had 7-10 messages similar vibe

Facebook Scam
As all others have said, listed on FB and you can guess the rest. No reply when said no to use ACE inspections.

Listed car on Facebook. And insisting to use this company.
When I said no. No reply
Total Scam Ace Inspections
Within 10 minutes of our car being placed for sale on Facebook a David Roberts sent a message via Messenger asking details about the car and wanted me to pay for an Ace Inspection report and he would pay me back immediately. I refused three times this request and suggested he pay for the report and I told him I would take the price off the sale price, plus suggested he used Carvertical. What he did not realise I have worked in the Car industry for over 38 years and knew this was a Scam straight away.
SCAM!!!
SCAM!!!! JESSICA PRITCHARD - Same as the rest, selling a car on FB Marketplace, offered to buy the car but requires that a report is completed first. Offered to pay for the report once it was done. ABSOLUTE SCAM! WATCH OUT!!
Total SCAM
Total SCAM. On Facebook selling cars. Tell you to use the site and promise to pay you the £48 with the car payment. Offered to pay with cash.
SCAM
SCAM! Just like other people. Contacted when trying to sell a car on Facebook marketplace. STEVE ALLEN was the name of the profile.
SCAM - As other have said
As other have said; this is a scam!
Within minutes of posting a vehicle for sale on Facebook marketplace I was contacted by someone called "Tracy Owens". She asked to view the car and for me to do a vehicle check using this website. I did my research and replied saying this was a scam website and suggested Car Vertical or the AA. She replied encouraging me to use ACE inspections. I blocked the profile and reported it. Please be cautious!
Definitely a scam
Definitely a scam - listed my car on Facebook Marketplace and had an enquiry from a ‘Robert William’ (Profile hidden…) within minutes. Seemed interested, asked the right kind of questions then slipped in the request for me to pay for an Ace Inspection. I offered to split the cost of a Car Vertical check and he came straight back saying how great Ace Inspection were and that he’d happily reimburse me with the full £50 cost when he paid full asking price for my car if the report was clear. I replied that the site was clearly a scam - he had the brass neck to then come back suggesting I try a different company, Green Tick. Perhaps he thought I was Green and thick…
Blocked and reported.

SCAM!
agreed this is a scam, we posted a car for sale on marketplace & within minutes had a STEVE ALLEN contact us offering just under the full amount and wanting to see it the next day if we provided a report. Quite pushy when we said no... Glad we looked further and found the reviews here anyway. As others have said, he has a locked profile, no information and was pushing for us to provide the report and promised to pay the £47 back once he bought the vehicle.....
Don't fall for it!!
Scam site
Scam site. User (in my case Ethan Davis) contacts you within minutes of posting a Facebook market place ad and promises full amount of receipt of an ACE report.
A lot of red flags with the domain
Registered December 2025
Companies house says incorporated 2024 yet the site claims 2020
Claims to work with government bodies, yet these are not verifiable
Website is also incredibly slow, and the associated IP address has bad reputation in AbuseIPDB
Users FB profile is locked down, empty and is created within the month.
unfortunately for this guy, I work in cybersecurity and ran OSINT on him.
Scammy b***ards ..... facebook selling car JORGE BLANCO
advertised a car on facebook... IMMEDIATE interest (within minutes) .... asked me to do an ACE inspection report... .. tried to google ACE & it blocked me, so I went on reviews & ended up on trust pilot .... facebook name JORGE BLANCO (profile image 2 couples) ...

A Warning this is a con the owner use's an Alias I e. David Roberts he pretends to show an interest in your vehicle (which you are selling) to the point where he states he will purchase as long as it has an ACE report (£47) which is very expensive there are a lot cheaper options once said report is purchased he disappears as does his fake profile / evidence
