We had an appalling service from this company. Delay after delay, excuse after excuse, the final bill was far higher than the original quote for no justifiable reason.

Please note that this company has no trustpilot rating because of breaches to their terms and conditions i.e. a large number of made up 5 star ratings have been left for them. Take ALL 5 star ratings with a pinch of salt.

There are plenty of other conveyancers out there, I strongly suggest you try one of them instead!

A really smooth process made possible by a very dedicated team. I highly recommend Maryam Khan who’s been diligent, helpful and consistently communicative throughout!

Communication was extremely poor — I went weeks at a time with no response during the process, which is stressful enough when buying a home.

The worst part: they sent the extra charge just one day before completion, telling me that if I didn’t pay it immediately, they wouldn’t transfer funds to the seller — meaning I’d have been liable for extra tax penalties on the seller’s side through no fault of my own. When I pushed back, I was told they’d “ask the finance team to check it.” That was over a year ago. I never heard back, and given how unresponsive they were during the actual transaction, I’m not holding my breath now.

I’d think twice before using this firm for anything time-sensitive or high-stakes like a house purchase.

Qamar & Mohammed saved the day!

I instructed Ackroyd Legal 6 months ago, got passed across a few different case handles before finally getting Qamar and Mohammed who genuinely pulled this out the bag and got this sorted for me!

I would have loved to give this 5* but sadly rh process before them was far from ideal. I would happily give Qamar & Mohammed 10* but across overall did take some time to come though :)

Horrendous I’d avoid at all costs.

Absolutely shocking service! completed on a property 2 years ago! they still haven't transferred the property in my name! call them back and they hang up on you! I would give them a -10 but thats not an option!

Ackroyd is fantastic if you
- want stress
- want a fantastically unprofessional service
- want solicitors with no knowledge
- want service which you dread
- want to always be unanswered. Response rate maybe 5 percent, if that.
- want to be lied to
- want someone doing something they don't know about
- want a company that valued feedback so much so that complaining to CEO will get no response. Calling/emailing complains managers for response will be unanswered, despite several attempts.
- want a company that keeps your money for days after bank released it.
- want a company that gets your deals delayed and other deals potentially cancelled because of their incompetence and laziness.
- want a company that appears cheap but you end up paying far more in delays/incompetence costs

Or you can avoid all of this and NOT go with them. (Never had this inexperienced, unprofessional and awful service in my life).

Worthless organisation. Don't understand why the bank chose this firm. Till the last date of completion , their system showed my id proof has not been accepted and their automated mailing system kept me worried till the last date. Not even worth a single star , Avoid at all cost if you want a hassle free mortgage

Possibly the worst solicitors I have ever had dealings with. Constantly chasing, will not return any calls. in fact, they normally don't answer the phones, if they do they hang up straight away. Didn't adhere to court deadlines, coursing a lot of additional stress for me. I was never able to speak with anyone, even when i put a complaint in they ignored me. They were terrible at liaising with other solicitors. Months later i still have no paperwork and confirmation i own my property from them. Even on completion date it wouldn't of gone through without my contacting my bank. My bank had gave me more information and guidance than a legally trained conveyancing solicitors. I was doing their job that i was paying them for!! absolutely ridiculous firm!

Qamar Shahrour helped me through the process of buying my first property and made sure the completion was completed exactly when agreed and answered any questions I had and reassured me to ask more if needs be.
