Do not rent from this company, I have been scammed at Zurich airport the car had an unreported scratch on the door which I photographed and reported on collection, when I returned the car the scratch was logged by the check in person who said she would have to report it, I had proof it was there on collection and had been reported and away we went, the next day we had an email stating the scratch on the doors was not done by us but they then said there was a scratch on the bumper sent us a poor quality photograph not showing the registration number of the car obviously a stock photo for scamming purposes and demanding payment for repairs,Avoid this company there are plenty of good car hire companies at this airport.
Avoid Enterpirse / Alamo scam in Geneva
Like many other reviewers, I was retroactively charged a disproportionate amount a small scratch on a wheel rim. These guys are cowboys. If you do rent from this company, make sure you take very detailed photos of the car before you pick it up. I took photos, but in the dark garage not clear enough to show the scratch that cost me nearly US$600. But my advice...rent from another company.

Stay away from these pirates (GVA airport)
Stay away from these pirates. Returned a car in the same condition I picked it up. They are trying to charge me 480€ for an alleged wheel rim scratch (1cm long!) that I did not do, with pictures that don't proof the scratch is in the I car I took, without allowing me to be present during the return inspection or without any proof that they actually did indeed fix it and underwent a cost to replace anything. Moreover, first they billed my card and THEN they wrote to me to explain the charge, generating defenselessness for customers. I am obviously disputing the charge with my card issuer, and considering sue if they don't reverse the charge.

Received an unexpected charge on my bank account for "refueling service fee", despite having refueled the car to its full capacity... Not trustworthy and will never book a car with them.

I rented a car from Alamo during my stay in Zürich.
The Tibetan looking lady at the Zurich airport was unprofessional very arrogant rude and she lied to my face, claiming I hadn't insured the car, and demanded extra fees. They are clearly committing scam.
The car they gave me broke down, so I waited outside for hours in the cold and rain for a mechanic to arrive.
They don't have an office phone number, it's impossible to reach them. I will never rent a car from Alamo again, so I absolutely do not recommend them to anyone.

DO NOT use this hire car company!! They seemed so great from the whole time we had the car and even returning it. However a few months later they tried to take £2000 from my account for ‘damage’. We got fully comprehensive insurance all damage etc included. However they are big scammers, in their small small print apparently no insurance covers the roof, they lied and said we scratched the roof (which we did NOT) and have charged us £2000 and sent dept collector letters to my home. Absolutely disgusting company, £2000 is so much money that we did not have.

They also haven't responded to American express about these over charges.
Rude and very pushy customer service
Rude and very pushy customer service – avoid this scam!
The female customer service representative who rented me a car at the airport was very pushy and didn't explain the difference between the more expensive and cheaper insurance options, even after I asked her dozens of times. She just shook her head and claimed that the package I had booked didn't cover anything and that I had to take out better insurance. The low price is apparently the company's “bait and switch” offer to attract customers, who are then pressured into buying insurance that is up to 50% more expensive. After a long flight, feeling very tired and hungry, I gave in to this scam after a 20-minute battle. The pressure was really intense.
Returning the car was complete chaos. There were no driving instructions on how to get back to the airport parking garage, to the Alamo parking lot. Not by email or phone. Google Maps does not guide you to the right place. The signs at the airport to the rental location were also quite poor. Alamo signs are only inside the parking garage. There are several parking garages, all with multiple floors. If we hadn't been really early to return the car, we would have missed our flight. According to an airport employee, returning the car to the wrong location would have cost €150, or even more if the car had been towed away.
I will never rent a car from Alamo again. Read other reviews and avoid Alamo!

2 hour wait in the line to the counter, demanded signature before self-service to go find the car, then there was pre existing damage that had not been noted. Contactless return means they also freely fabricated charges they then auto invoiced and had to be disputed.

I was a faithful customer of Alamo/Enterprise with over 40 rentals during last 3 years until they scammed me and had me pay over 400€ for an already existing tiny scratch (less than 1 cm) on the door handle. When picking up the car, they always tell you that you should not care about these tiny scratches. When returning the car, the agent told me "Everything is fine, I will close the contract". Of course, you never receive any confirmation and there is no commun signature from both parties when closing the contract. 25 days after returning the car, I received a bill regarding this scratch I had not made and my credit card was charged. I filed a complained to the customer service that reply after weeks that they would see with the corresponding team. Needless to say that they never came back! I called Mastercard who told me they had numerous similar cases with Enterprise Zurich. Food for thoughts... DO NOT RENT WITH THESE SC@MMERS!

Have being contacted about a toll not paid that I never received the first letter and now I have to pay a penalty of 120euros for a single motorway toll.
Also, besides the fact that no number can be found to call, I was informed about the penalty after 15 days the letter was received. This is ridiculous!

Extremely poor customer service and a false damage claim – beware.
I recently rented a car and returned it in the same condition it was collected. At drop-off, I showed a video to a staff member (Noah) clearly documenting pre-existing damage, including a scratch on the bumper. He confirmed it was not our fault and even noted on his iPad that we were not to be charged — I took a photo of that note for evidence.
Despite this, I later received a claim alleging that we had caused the damage. It was an entirely false accusation, and only after firmly pushing back — including stating I would escalate to consumer protection authorities and legal channels — did the company retract their claim.
This was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, and it caused unnecessary stress and wasted time. I strongly urge others to document everything thoroughly when dealing with this company, and be prepared to defend yourself even when you've done nothing wrong.
Proceed with caution.
Blatant Fraud by Alamo Zurich Airport – Avoid at All Costs
I recently rented a car with Alamo at Zurich Airport.
I drove the car to the mountains, parked it in an underground car park for three days, where it did not move, and then drove it straight back to Zurich Airport. Before returning it, I filmed the car again, showing its condition. Not a scratch on it.
Three weeks later, Alamo Zurich Airport charged me 3,000 CHF for “damage” that was not there when I returned the car. They sent me photos, but when I compared them to my own footage from drop-off, the alleged dent did not exist.
This is blatant fraud, and a quick search online shows that many others have been scammed in the same way by Alamo at Zurich Airport. It’s clear they are running a damage scam operation.
If you’re considering renting from Alamo at Zurich Airport, don’t. Take your money elsewhere unless you want to risk a fraudulent charge appearing on your card weeks after you return your car.
They are attempting to charge me £300…
They are attempting to charge me £300 for a wiper cover that broke in the freezing weather and which retails for less than €15 and takes one minute to replace. Clearly this operator regards the hiring of cars to be secondary to the much more profitable business of claiming inflated damage costs.
Scam Parcel Shelf Rip Off
I was charged 300 CHF for a parcel shelf that was not there when I picked the car up and they claimed I had lost. They have not been able to prove that it was there in the first place. Because they held my card details they were able to charge it automatically but did so in advance of telling me. The have failed to respond to my query and I have subsequently learnt that the staff at Geneva Airpiort regularly do this to earn extra money - complete Scam
Absolute crooks
Absolute crooks ! For a 200 euros rent, they charged me 1200 euros for supposed scratches on the rear bumper, that a simple polish would have fixed. This company is a scam, to avoid at all costs
