Alcatraz Island Guide Avis 

We enjoyed our day tour with a group of five. The SFO skyline looks amazing from the boat. The staff was helpful.

Night tour is highly recommended as we enjoyed the tour with spectacular views and the sunset. Boat team and people on island were very helpful.

Behind the scenes tour was very informative and interesting. We family of 5 had a great time. Team is very friendly

John was an amazing tour guide. Unfortunately due to renovations, we were unable to see particular spaces but overall it was a great experience.

We didn’t make it our plane arrived late and we were not in the 72 hour window for a refund.

Unfortunately we canceled our trip to California and the cancelation was seamless.

My husband has a hard time walking. All of the staff were very accommodating towards him and understanding

It was so exciting to learn about the legend and history about Alcatraz and the inmates guards, wardens and Indians in the forefront of it all

The description of the "night tour" was the reason I bought our tickets for myself, my husband and our grandson. We felt cheated because there was no "reenactment" of anything and there were no "extras" that we could see. It was all an automated audio tour. Too many people to enjoy the boat ride or the prison. It was very disorganized. We should get a partial refund.

The transportation to the island was easy and quick in spite of the crowd

Do not buy from this company!!!
I was told to only buy tickets directly from the company. Go on cityexperiences.com to purchase Alcatraz tickets.

I booked my tickets (or so I thought) almost a month in advance. After booking, I got an email saying “Thank you, We've received your booking request. Our team will review and process your payment shortly”. Right u see earn that, it said,
📧 What happens next?
Our team will process your payment and send your e-ticket to you by email. This usually takes a few minutes. If there are any issues, we will contact you directly.

So here I thought, all is good! A few days before my trip, I went into my email to retrieve my tickets and I couldn’t find any email with tickets. So I went back to the initial email and I there was an area that I could book on that said “view booking status” and once I clicked on that it said invalid payment!!!

Mind you, I never received another email stating that there was a problem with my payment!!! Above it states that if there are any issues, they will contact me directly which they did not!

I tried contacting them and nobody answered.
So I thought hopefully that when I get to the boat, they’ll be able to process my payment, negative! I had no tickets.
My parents came all the way from Europe, and that was one of the aim things they they were so looking forward to seeing. And of course they were sold out that day and days after….

How deceiving is that???
If I wouldn’t known to click on that, and yes, partially it’s my fault (I take responsibility) for not checking sooner and clicking on that box…. But I did not know!

We thought we were buying tickets to an actual Alcatraz island on site visit with an audio tour and it was actually a bay cruise. It never mentioned a bay cruise and talked about the audio tour. It was very misleading. We had to pay additional money and buy new tickets at the ship.

Customer service was very helpful with making changes to our reservation.
