I got placed quickly using the AmeriCamp portal without having to go to a camp fair. I absolutely loved my camp and had the best summer! AmeriCamp were extremely helpful throughout- always at the end of the phone if I had questions. They also paid me a lot more than my friends who went through different agencies for exactly the same role. Overall really happy I went with AmeriCamp and would definitely recommend them as your summer camp agency!

AmeriCamp have such great communication & really take care of their applicants giving guidance whenever they can! Can’t recommend them enough!

I have used Americamp for two summers now and have had the most amazing experience ! Everyone there is so helpful - I got hired at a camp fair which allowed me to speak to so many camps as well as getting hired with a friend! Really looking forward to my second summer with them.

I’ve been with AmeriCamp since june 2023 (which is when i signed up for summer 2024) and the entire time they’ve been the most supportive agency with people who genuinely care!!

They kept me updated with each step of the application process, always sent out info for events well in advance and always made sure i had everything i needed for camp.

I was hired through their online hiring system and it was genuinely my dream camp!! i’m not returning for my second summer in 2 weeks time!!

I first signed up for the 2024 season as soon as it opened back in june 2023 and AmeriCamp were the most helpful people ever! They did so much to help me & other applicants get hired such as in-person & online hiring fairs as well as their own hiring system! AmeriCamp truely found me my dream camp and i’m about to head back for my second summer!

AmeriCamp have been super helpful in enhancing my summer camp experience! They’ve been great communicators and have kept in touch regarding my application. I am returning for my second summer and I couldn’t recommend anyone better!

DO NOT USE AMERICAMP!!!! I have had the worst experience with them. I attended a camp fair in Manchester. Before going a list of camps where published so I researched them and created my own list of camps to talk to.

When we arrived at the fair they released the roles each camp was hiring for. Most roles where really niche like ceramics, horse riding, waterfronts, etc where they required extensive experience in each. This meant my list was narrowed down to about 3 camps I could speak to which mirrored my skills.

I would queue for over an hour for some camps with staff then coming down the queue saying they’ve filled up spaces.

So after paying for travel and coming all the way out there, I spoke to 3 camps and was rejected at each one. This was the case for most people - people where crying in the bathroom etc. I’m lucky that I only came from Liverpool. Some people travelling from Ireland, London, booked hotels, flights etc. So disappointing when it was advertised that the best way to get hired is at a fair and most get hired this way.

I contacted one of the camps after the fair to see if I could apply externally. They said yes and I had two interviews. One staff member said that they only hired a small amount of staff maybe 5, as they don’t hire loads at camp fairs because they look for more niche roles. This was not advertised by Americamp.

Americamp also does not have a list of camps they work with or an online portal where you can reach out to camps, unlike most other agencies, meaning you have to wait for camps to reach out to you. As such, I could not research other camps or apply via the website leaving me hopeless as no camps reached out to me.

I contacted some camps and finally got placed at one, however, it only worked with BUNAC, Camp Leaders, and Camp America - the case for most I contacted, making me think Americamp has less connections than other agencies. I had to pay extra fees to another agency. I tried to request a refund consistently but was denied by Americamp. Luckily I got an automated email that they haven’t been able to place me and I’ll get a full refund but it’s ridiculous it has taken so long.

Going forward I would go with Camp Leaders, Bunac, or Camp America.

AmeriCamp is amazing, their team are so personal and super friendly! They helped the process become smooth and easy. They have really got me excited about my summer camp experience, and I would recommend them to any first-timers!

Americamp were amazing with sending me to camp. They were with me every step of the way always listened when I contacted and made sure I was okay whilst out there. Best company by far

Americamp is a great company to go with for summer camp!
They provide great insightful information into the programme and the team are so helpful with any questions you may have!

Americamp are upfront about costs and set realistic expectations of the summer camp experience.
They also provide excellent opportunities which you may not find elsewhere.

Do not go with Americamp!! I had an awful experience involving a lack of understanding and communication along with disorganisation. Firstly, I felt confused about what steps to take in the application process. I was spammed with their junk emails and didn’t know where to find information. I ended up needing to cancel my application due to a family death however as she was my aunt not an “immediate family member, they wouldn’t refund me the £242 application fees!!! However they were doing giveaways on instagram for free application fees to five winners. I’d explained my situation and had phone calls with them. It was a very long process and so frustrating. I’m very disappointed and upset. I would point anyone in the direction of going with a difference summer camp agency such as Camp America or BUNAC which I have heard good things about.

Do not use Americamp! They are unorganised. They do not communicate amongst themselves. They said my daughter's application was amazing. But failed to tell her they had not received her references and cancelled her application 8th April. Although her university professor sent the reference in January! 28th February they reassured me on the phone they will keep trying until end of May. On the 28th February they also fail to tell me that the reason she hasn't been offered a job is because the camps can't see her application. Americamp took no responsibility but blamed my daughter. They did admit that several emails which she should have received did not get sent due to a fault in the system. They did not try to reinstate her application even though there is another two months to receive a camp job. We feel very LET DOWN by America Camp.

AmeriCamp are the most supportive, informative and passionate agency! The team do everything they can to ensure that you have a a smooth and successful experience of working at a summer camp. You guys rock!

AmeriCamp provided such amazing support to me during my first summer working at a summer camp. They answered my queries promptly and the team are so so friendly! Would definitely recommend to anyone considering what agency to go through! (As someone who promised to do camp for one summer ONLY and is returning for her second, thanks to how life changing my AmeriCamp summer was!)

I have used americamp now for the last 3 years, any issues I have I normally get a reply back in a couple of hours, would recommend for anyone to use

I had the most incredible experience with AmeriCamp in 2024, and I even ended up signing up to go back this summer in 2025! The team were great with any questions or worries I had, and were so friendly throughout the process. I truly recommend the programme to everyone, and I still talk about it daily in my everyday life! AmeriCamp offered consistent and reliable help when I was going working at a summer camp for the first time. They helped me get placed at a camp with a friend, made the visa process easy and made me feel prepared for camp!

I went to the Americamp fair in London in February and it was an absolute joke. Me and my cousin were told not to apply to any camps as there will be a camp fair and it’s better to talk to camps face to face etc. Me and my cousin payed to travel to London, payed for a hotel, only to go to the fair where all the positions were taken for the roles that we wanted to work for. After hours of talking to camps, only a few people were able to get jobs and there was still so many people at the fair still. A few people looked like they were going to cry and one girl told me that she accepted a job that she didn’t even want to do as she was worried she wouldn’t get anything else. After hours there was a massive line for people that wanted to be on a waiting list for jobs in the future. I was talking to a few people who were working at the fair and some said that they didn’t even get a place at the fair in previous years and had to get in touch with camps themselves at home. My cousin asked if there is a list of camps that we could apply to and one of the ladies said no and to just google camps !! Not to mention that many of the American staff members were extremely rude - one decided to just talk to someone else whilst I was in a middle of a conversation with them and another told me to line up behind her if I wanted to talk to her as she was having a private conversation (in the middle of the room?) !! I also had an American staff member from a camp tell me and my cousin that we aren’t allowed to wear makeup and we aren’t allowed to curl our hair (whilst I was sitting there with red lipstick and my cousin with curled hair). This comment disgusted me the most as wearing makeup and curling your hair doesn’t affect your work what so ever and wanting to wear makeup and look pretty for yourself is frowned upon and is seen as something else. To have a man tell us that is also unacceptable. I bet he didn’t tell any boys at the camp that they can’t gel their hair or shave etc. After leaving the fair I have decided not to do Americamp after all as I don’t want to spend my summer being exploited by people who think it’s acceptable to tell two women what they can and can’t wear in 2025 (whilst WE are paying THEM to work for them) and to completely dismiss and disregard me considering I could have been their future employees.

BE AWARE WHEN HANDING YOUR MONEY OVER. There is no cooling off period, you will loose £450 straight away, even if you have a genuine reason why you can't go.
It's such a shame that they are happy to take teenager's money, with no guarantee of a placement at the end.
