Anthony & Sylvan Pools Avis 

We paid them top dollar and in return we got a sloppy job, disregard for our property, and poor communication. Also waiting almost a month for the refund for the water delivery they promised but couldn’t deliver. We were promised we would be swimming by Memorial Day weekend when it reality it was almost three weeks later so we had to cancel our Memorial Day plans. Everyday for three weeks we get an e mail telling us that we have a past due balance, which was paid the month before and the check cleared immediately, however no mention of the over 2000.00 refund they owe us and we paid for. I would not recommend this company !

We signed a contract with Anthony & Sylvan, and the pool resurfacing project was completed in April 2022. At first, our newly resurfaced pool looked beautiful. However, in May 2022, when our pool maintenance company came to open the pool, we discovered a serious problem. The bottom drainage lines for both the pool and spa were clogged due to plaster leakage from the resurfacing work. As a result, the pumps responsible for pulling and circulating water from the bottom of the pool and spa no longer function properly. Anthony & Sylvan resurfaced our pool, but in the process, they damaged the drainage system. We contacted Anthony & Sylvan multiple times regarding this issue, but they refused to take responsibility or provide a proper solution. We were informed that the repair costs would range from approximately $20,000 to $25,000 and could take several months to complete. The repair process involves digging a 9- to 12-foot shaft, cutting through patio stone, cutting into the bottom of the pool and spa, replacing damaged pipes, and restoring everything afterward. This is an extremely complicated and expensive repair.
So, beware of this company and avoid them at all costs. They are not responsible, hire unqualified workers, and provide poor customer service. Hire a reliable company and save yourself from unnecessary stress and financial loss.
Most recently, a customer service representative from Anthony & Sylvan Pools contacted me and offered $1,600. I cannot understand how the company believes that $1,600 is an acceptable resolution for damages totaling $20,000–$25,000.
Again, STAY AWAY from Anthony & Sylvan for both pool repairs and new pool construction. Their marketing may look impressive, but the quality of their work and their accountability are extremely disappointing.

Tara R. did our pool school today. She was very knowledgeable and thorough. She explained everything in great detail, and I feel a lot more confident in regards to operating and maintaining the pool equipment.

Tara is absolutely the best. She is the most responsive person I have ever had when it comes managing and servicing a pool.

Texas - We are now going on 8 months with this company, and our pool is still not complete. This has easily been the worst experience we’ve ever had with any contractor.

Once they take your money, communication essentially stops. Our salesperson became completely unreachable, and getting any response was nearly impossible. The project manager was rarely onsite and did not properly manage the contractors at all.

Major issues throughout the project include:
• Wrong tiles installed twice, requiring them to be ripped out and redone
• Poor communication about decking, causing multiple return visits
• Contractors frequently not showing up, despite being “scheduled”
• Repeated delays with no valid explanation (not weather-related)

We have been extremely patient, but we constantly had to follow up and push the project manager just to get basic progress. Even then, concerns were brushed off or ignored. We often had to repeat the same issues over and over before anything was addressed.

When we escalated concerns to the salesperson, scheduler, project manager, and even the area manager, we were given the same runaround: “it’s scheduled.” We would take time off work to be present -- only for no one to show up.

At one point, we even requested in-person meetings to resolve ongoing issues, but weeks would go by with nothing scheduled. Only after repeated reminders would anything happen.

We’ve built a pool before, and it took less than 3 months. This experience has been the complete opposite.
With summer approaching, it’s incredibly frustrating to say that we likely won’t have a completed pool in time. We’ve even had to postpone our vacation just to try and keep this project moving.

We have no confidence that this company will complete the job correctly or stand behind their work. If you’re considering them, pay more and go with someone else -- it will save you time, stress, and disappointment.

We are currently consulting with an attorney and exploring our options.

Steven is very respectful, pleasant and does a thorough job servicing our pool. He goes above and beyond.

Steven Rucker was the technician who perform my pool service last week. He was very communicative, provided information I didn't know before and did an amazing job on my pool service. Thank you Steven!

To say the entire project has been a nightmare is a gross understatement. So many things were done improperly and then made even worse instead of being fixed. The general manager himself described my plaster as "horrible" and yet refuses to replace it because he needs to speak with the plaster company. (This has been going on for 2 years.) My sheer descent (focal point of the pool) has never functioned properly and is completely unusable. They recently were "fixing" issues with the coping and ended up removing and replacing all the tile in the spa. The SPA IS NOW COMPLETELY RUINED. The tiles are wavy, the spillway is wavy, and even the wall of the spa is wavy. The deck was ruined right after they installed it (too much acid in an acid wash) and still has not been replaced. I have been extremely patient and allowed them time to fix/replace everything, but they just stall on fixing it or they make it worse. I am now at the point where I will have to hire an attorney and seek a settlement because I don't want them anywhere near my home ever again.

A & S installed our pool and does all of our weekly maintenance. Brian T. is my usual tech and I can't say enough good things about him. He's extremely knowledgeable, friendly and always happy to answer questions.

Alexander Lais was a huge help during our pool start up. He was very knowledgeable and very thoughtful with his training and helped answer all my questions.

I would highly recommend Anthony & Sylvan. This is my first pool build. I interviewed many companies and their great reputation has lived up to itself. They take pride in the quality and ensuring things worked out as planned. The design was exactly what I wanted; I receive compliments from everyone who sees it. And the service has been great as I took over from start up, now coming up on a full year. Geoff VanLeer has been terrific. When I submit a question, he takes a personal approach to not only answer, but help me continue to learn so I’m able to have full enjoyment of the pool for many years to come.

Anthony & Sylvan has been great to work with. We signed up for the weekly maintenance package and were assigned Steve Rucker who has been amazing. He explains what he's doing during his visits and helps us better understand the long-term benefits to our pool. It's people like Steve that makes us appreciate the investment we made and the company we choose to do business with.
