Worst support and broken system—Waste of valuable time!

I am extremely disappointed with Populii. I completed my profile 100% and successfully verified my ID on the platform, expecting a professional micro-task experience. However, their system is completely flawed.
I tried applying for more than 25+ available gigs on my dashboard. When I click on "Start Test," I instantly get a red error message saying, "Please contact the support team ." Looking closely at the prerequisites, it shows a red cross next to "Native from specified location," which means these tasks aren't even eligible for my region. If a task isn't available for my location, why is it being displayed on my dashboard as an available gig in the first place?

To make matters worse, I contacted their support team regarding this broken loop. I received an automated email acknowledgment on May 1, 2026, promising a response within 12 hours. Today is May 23, 2026—over three weeks have passed, and I have not received a single follow-up email, let alone a solution to my problem.
It makes me question whether this platform is actually authentic or just a huge waste of time for global freelancers. If they cannot fix basic dashboard bugs and their support is entirely non-existent, no one should waste their valuable time here. Avoid this platform!

UPDATE (June 5, 2026):
Populii officially replied to this review on May 26, 2026, apologizing and promising to "look into this immediately" to get some gigs for me. However, it has been nearly 10 days since their public response, and absolutely nothing has changed. The dashboard is still broken, the same error persists, and I haven't received any email or actual solution from their team.
It seems their "immediate" action is just a template reply to look good publicly while completely ignoring the actual issue. They ensure things on words but fail to deliver in reality. My rating remains 1 star.

It is a highly disappointing platform, as accounts are suspended despite individuals working hard, often due to someone else’s actions. They even believe people like Mujahid and end up banning the accounts of genuine professionals.

I would have rated with minus one if…

I would have rated with minus one if there was the option. The worst community and a failed management. They always delay the things. They announce a project and then they say that the project is on hold and then that project is never discussed. They just waste the time of people. They have never been able to fetch a worthy gig.

The main featured fraud of Populii team…

The main featured fraud of Populii team is that they get work from stakeholders, get tests assessed from experts, and show stakeholders that they are working with experts. However, in reality, they hire experts as third-party vendors from India and pay them a monthly fee. They charge clients a high amount per task but pay the experts a much lower amount, such as $0.048, $0.027, or $0.033 per task.

In the current annotation project, "Check my work," they are taking assessments from experts but actually working with their own hired third-party experts. They show a price of $0.048 to experts for tasks that take only 2-3 minutes to understand. This is just for show to stakeholders that they are engaging experts. I have many proofs of Populii's fraudulent activities, including emails and personal chats. They say one thing but do another. A professional company cannot behave like this. The main fraudulent person is Dhirender Dinesh Kumar, who has hired only female staff.

Populii is almost a fraudulent company. Initially, it was a good and cooperative company, providing work and full payment. The first major project that made the company somewhat famous was related to Photomath. After that, some smaller projects followed. Basically, it is an Indian company. Initially, they would get projects from companies and outsource work to global experts, but later they started assigning work only to their own hired experts with fixed payments. They also introduced a so-called "quality check" system to reduce payments. For example, one official would say a task is fine, while another would reject it, resulting in partial payment for completed work.

For the last three months, no stakeholders have given projects to Populii. Recently, they migrated their annotation system from the Photomath to Data Compute because the Google team behind Photomath realized the truth about Populii and removed everything related to them. From the start, they have conducted many assessments under the name of new projects, but most of those projects never started after the assessments. They kept saying, "Clear the assessment, big task volumes are coming soon," but nothing ever came.

For the past three months, they have been doing the same thing with Nico GIGs—conducting multiple assessments and training sessions without any real tasks. The truth is, Populii has become a fraudulent company. In the marketplace, Manager Dinesh Kumar is one of the biggest frauds, and Jessie makes useless announcements and webinars. Please do not work with this company without asking for all the rules and payment details upfront. In reality, Populii is now a completely failed company with no real projects. Gigs are just for show. I have many proofs of how they exploit experts and take advantage of their skills.

You can NEVER delete your account

Did you know you can never delete your Populii account?? They keep sending you emails after emails and although you've requested to have your account deleted, they say, "As per our Privacy Policy, which was accepted during the registration process, accounts cannot be completely deleted from our system. However, we can deactivate your account, ensuring that is no longer accessible will not receive any email from Populii platform."

But they continue to send me emails. It's frustrating. I've tagged them on Instagram and messaged them there and Facebook, no replies. Honestly AVOID AVOID AVOID. Don't even sign up anything with them.

Populii Review: A Crowdsourcing Disaster

Populii is, without exaggeration, one of the worst crowdsourcing platforms I have ever encountered. Here’s why:

Lack of Tasks:
Most of the time, there are simply no tasks available. While they onboard new gig workers, the actual availability of work is sporadic at best. You may get a few tasks for a couple of days, but after that, there’s nothing.

No Quality Control:
The platform lacks proper oversight in maintaining task quality. Without any real mechanism to ensure consistency and fairness in their tasks, it leaves contributors frustrated and disillusioned.

Ruined Photomath’s Reputation:
Populii's involvement with Photomath, once a beloved educational app, has been detrimental. They’ve significantly lowered the quality and credibility of the platform, damaging what was once one of the best resources for learning.

Unresponsive Support Team:
Trying to get support from Populii is a nightmare. Emails sent to their support team rarely, if ever, receive a response. This lack of communication shows a blatant disregard for their contributors.

Inconsistent Payment Cycles:
Payments are another glaring issue. The cycles are inconsistent and unreliable, making it hard for workers to trust that they’ll be paid on time for their efforts.

Unsustainable Gigs:
Even when there are gigs available, they are fleeting. You might see tasks for a few days, but the platform fails to provide sustainable or ongoing work opportunities.

Overall, Populii is an unreliable platform that fails its workers on multiple levels. From a lack of tasks to unresponsive support and poor management, they’ve made it clear that they’re not invested in the success or satisfaction of their contributors.

This company does not treat her workers…

This company does not treat her workers well. That's really bad. Why should someone stress so much on tasks and get paid peanuts. Also, the IT department of this company is not doing their job properly, so many complaints from workers and prospective workers and they do nothing to rectify their problems. Many issues came with the Orion Project they launched about a week ago. That's not really cool. Many people who registered and were eligible for the project did not receive the credentials needed for the project. The company is really wack. There are so many things they need to improve on.

Worst Platform to Learn and Earn

The platform is worst to learn and earn because they have destroyed the #1 platform of math (photomath).
There is totally pathetic, childish and unprofessional team to manage the platform.

Very slow response rate if you have some issue then please note that it may take 3 to 4 months to solve this issue from the support. It completely destroyed no 1 math ap Photomath. So away from this app.

They are very unprofessional team

They are very unprofessional team. Just watch their interest nothing else. They projects are just for hours not days. They start and end on same day some even don't start.
