Aptia; incompetent staff and broken website / processes

Aptia: short for steaming pile of dogsh1t.
I attempt to login to their 'improved' website and am now forced to create a new password.
Except i can't! The process has failed and i'm back to the login page - it will no longer accept any of my details.
Or course, requesting i've forgotten my password (which is not true) yields exactly NO emails from them to reset it.
So now i have to go to another part of their website and complete a form with far more details than they require (a scan of my driving licence) - stating that i can no longer access.
A day later i receive a reply stating they've reset the whole account; i have to register again!! What absolute lazy imbeciles.
The cherry on top has to be yet ANOTHER FAILURE to register with the information provided by their incompetent staff. I tried two browsers and two different machines - NOTHING works.

Seriously, if you are with this fiasco pension administrator, get out now and save your sanity.

UPDATE: Thanks for your reply. I am reluctant to share details as i fear further repercussions from your unhappy staff. Plus you have a real user story on how your web interface is not working; If you really gave a damn you would improve the service for all users and thank me!

No problems

When dealing with most companies these days I was, once again, preparing myself for a painful, drawn out process, but I had absolutely no problems. Easy, quick, no fuss. Very satisfied.

A masterclass in incompetence. Avoid at all costs.

If your pension is with this company, I genuinely feel sorry for you. They are not just bad. They are a total embarrassment. I’ve tried twice to transfer my pension out, and both times it has been a shambles from start to finish. They take twenty working days to send a transfer quote, then post you paper forms like it’s the last century. You fill them in, send them back, and—surprise—they vanish. Both times.

Ask for another quote and they demand £360 plus VAT because you already had one this year. It’s a thinly disguised deterrent, designed to make you give up and leave your money trapped. It’s bordering on theft.

Their phone support is a joke. You sit on hold while they “check with the back office”, which is clearly code for “we have no idea what’s going on”. Nobody can do anything. Nobody takes ownership. Everything gets lost. The whole operation feels like a time capsule from 1995, staffed by people who still think fax machines are cutting edge.

I’ve transferred several other pensions into my SIPP in days. With this lot, it feels like trying to tunnel out of a prison. You can’t see your balance. You can’t get a straight answer. You just keep paying for the privilege of knowing how much of your own money they still have.

They are the worst kind of financial institution, slow, obstructive, outdated, and utterly shameless. Avoid them at all costs. Dealing with them is not just frustrating; it’s infuriating. This company has no place operating in 2025.

To all companies that are thinking of using them (Morrisons for me) your reputation will slide by being associated with an amateur operation like Apita.

Aptia - not great experience so far

Really frustrated at the length of time it is taking to access my pension. I've provided everything asked for in way of form filling, confirming my ID. All I keep getting is automated responses. Feels like delaying tactics to access what is due to me!

Aptia Group poor service …

Aptia Group control a deferred pension plan that I own. I have been trying for about 4 months to get them to begin paying me my pension, but they continually deploy delaying tactics, citing address issues, living overseas issues, taking weeks to respond to questions etc etc. I have raised a formal complaint using their internal process but other than auto generated email responses, I have heard nothing. This is an extremely frustrating organisation to work with.

Unbelievable

Unbelievable, as other reviews cannot get my pension. Started the process in April . No nearer to completion.They ask for forms which were completed months ago, no answers on every call, filled in form online asking for answers.Same response,they will pass on to admin team. I have told them I am in financial and emotional distress now . Not bothered .

Aptia are absolutely useless

Aptia are absolutely useless. They cannot follow a simple instruction. Just terrible customer service. The delays are ridiculous. It takes 3 months to get them to do a calculation that takes 30 seconds.

Aptia offers very poor service and defends that poor service

I found Aptia's service, information and communication during the process to use my pension options as very poor. They provided inconsistent, conflicting and inaccurate information. Having complained, they defended what I believe to be unacceptable levels of service, notably from their front line call handlers who appear to have little to no information and show no empathy.

Great service from a really professional team

The Aptia team members were, proactive, professional and polite. I could not have wished for a smoother process for presenting my options clearly and putting my chosen pension arrangements into payment.

10 weeks and still no reply

Completed the online documents August 04 2025 to obtain my pension valuations. Aptia had the nerve to send me their literature that informs me they provide the information in 1 to 2 weeks. Now mid October 2025 and I have chased them but still had no response. The service from this company is company is dreadful.

Shocking service

Received a phone call from this company asking me to contact them. The number provided directs to a website, where the same number is given. Can't get to speak to anyone at this company, a shambles!!

What a joke of a comlany

I have been trying yo transfer my pension out for over 5 month now. This company delays everything, it never answers enquiries or the telephone, my financial have had difficulties getting in touch with them. It's absolutely disgusting how they treat customers, even now they receive all my forms on 4h Sep and I've had to ring them again only to be told a form is missing(which I don't believe). Surely this must of been picked up when the forms arrived. If you're with this company and you want your pension I would advise starting a year in advance to try and get it. Embarrassing that's what they are.
