Authors Bench Avis 5

Warning, I am about to press charges for ciminal fraud as Authors Bench has stopped refunding me.

They did an OUTSTANDING job on my website but I am outraged that they did NOT make a paperback edition of my book.
I spent 2000 dollars and Im absolutly blown away that Bryan lied to me that my book is being made into a paperback.
Never ever do business with them!

Started in July 2025. Illustrations for children's book and then Platinum Marketing plan purchased with a long list of promises, very long. 300% ROI promised. Here we are in December, and the website isn't even live yet. Requested refund, being repeatedly put off and ghosted. They managed to get my children's book onto KDP which I could have done myself. Ordered copies for myself from KDP and the printing contrast is so dark some of the character outlines are not even visible. I've called, I've emailed, I've cried. They'll promise "Call you in an hour with update"...and then don't call.. something just to get me off the phone. Next step, consumer protection lawyer. Worst mistake of my adult life. Thousands of dollars invested to American Illustration Lab/Author's bench (same people). All I asked for was what was promised and as of now, I can't even give my own book out as Christmas presents to family. Beyond dissatisfied. More like DEVASTATED. In all ways advising to avoid this company. Still want my refund.
**Time warp ahead to April 2026**
Still no functioning website. Promised that a manager would call me. They don't. BEGGING for my printing vendor refund. They won't even tell me who the printing vendor is. I've been passed off from one rep to another. "I completely understand your frustration." say the emails. Life lesson learned on the wasted money spent on marketing plan BUT I'll never stop demanding the printing vendor fee refund because this service is flat out not being provided.... because the website doesn't work. When you get the book in the cart it doesn't even add tax and then the payment processing doesn't complete. 9 months of failed deliverables and in my opinion, blatant lies.

We contracted services with this organization, which also does business under other names. We paid for a two week turnaround on a book which we handed a manuscript and storyboard for. We were guaranteed the book to be completed in two weeks. Our account representative ghosted us, the head of design refused to respond to emails and take our calls, and we were sent offshore to someone who couldn’t even pay attention to the names of the main characters and ensure they were consistently spelled correctly throughout the book. Mind you, the book was all of 12 pages.

The two week process turned into 2 1/2 months, and when the book was finally published to KDP, it was still wrong. Wrong format, skewed photos, and an inability to generate an actual copy.

We managed to salvage the book ourselves after learning after learning KP and downloading and reverse, offering their files, which they to this day have never provided.

Further, after the book was delayed a month, we were guaranteed a partial refund for them, missing their commitment and failing to deliver. Neither of the account rep nor the head of design would respond to deliver the refund, which ended up with us filing fraud with our credit card company, which they two never heard from Author’s Bench regarding.

Run far away from this organization. You can do better learning a little AI and KDP.

Professional, reliable, and supportive that’s how I’d describe Authors Bench. They took my rough draft and turned it into a polished book available for readers worldwide.
