I was recommended to Max through a client of my sons
He was great, did a lovely job in Covid and we asked him about a small balcony and he said he could do it
It started leaking before he finished and kept saying he would come back and kept making excuses
Next thing I know he is doing something else and ignoring messages and his partner
I tried to track as he was Check a trade registered with them. This makes me feel Check a Trade isn’t worth the paper it is written on
I found on Companies House the account had been struck off/ dissolved for not submitting returns
I have had another builder in who said his work was messy and awful
Please do not use Max Burrows for anything
There was supposed to be a 20 year guarantee with the roofing

I'm disappointed to be writing this as I initially trusted Max who did a couple of jobs for us very competently.
However, when he replaced our entire roof in 2019 we ended up having to completely re-plaster and decorate two internal walls and since then tiles have been falling off on a regular basis, causing a dangerous risk to the public.
Max has ignored all requests to honour his 30 year guarantee & undertake any repairs or to return my money.
I reluctantly advise potential customers to bear this in mind if appointing Max - he is a very engaging and pleasant individual who works hard but unfortunately cannot run a business properly or safely.

This man stole our money and is the biggest charlaton ive ever met. Would have performed work against building regs and gave us the plan on how to do it. When i lost my job and couldnt afford the job he stole

I got max round to put a new roof on my house, I couldn’t ask any better out of him, he beat all the quotes and turned up when he saidhe would, the job was finished to a high spec and have given his number to a lot of my friends and family, will definitely use again and recommend to anyone who needs a roofer.

Max did a thorough job of cleaning my guttering. He also cleared all the fallen moss from my conservatory roof. He provided photos and video of his work.

Capped off my chimney pots on my roof and also advised me that the chimney mortar joints were deteriorating. Showed me photos and videos and repaired it same day at a great price. Can’t fault his work and professionalism!
