We’re really sorry to hear that you left feeling disappointed and uncomfortable after your visit. That’s never the experience we want anyone to have in our stores.

We completely understand the frustration around Pokémon products at the moment, especially with how difficult many recent releases have been to obtain. The tier system was introduced because we were regularly seeing products immediately bought out by resellers, large groups, or people travelling store-to-store specifically to clear shelves. Unfortunately this often meant our regular local players and customers, including younger members of our community, missed out entirely.

The system isn’t designed to exclude people or make anyone feel unwelcome. It’s intended to give a protected window of opportunity to:

Active players involved in our organised play community
Regular customers who consistently support the store throughout the year

We do still try to ensure there is some access for everyone, which is why products like booster packs and collection boxes are usually available to all customers at a later date (usually 1 week later).

With regards to trade-ins, our rates are 60% cash or 80% store credit based on market value, which is in line with much of the market and many other stores.

The difference allows us to cover processing time, condition checks, staffing, fees, VAT/tax considerations, and the risk involved in buying and reselling singles.

That said, we genuinely appreciate the feedback. We never want someone to feel awkward or unwelcome at the till, and we’ll take this on board with the team because how policies are communicated is just as important as the policies themselves.

We do hope you’ll give us another chance in the future.

Thank you for the review and for highlighting both the positives and the issues you experienced.

We’re really pleased to hear you found our pricing fair and that we had products available that you struggled to find elsewhere.

However, we’re sorry about the issue with your order and the lack of communication surrounding the out-of-stock item. That’s understandably frustrating, and we completely appreciate why this left you questioning the process.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of trading card games and the speed products can sell both in-store and online simultaneously, stock discrepancies can occasionally happen despite our systems being synced.

We have also recently moved a large amount of inventory into an external storage facility as part of improving our security procedures, so before cancelling orders we wanted to ensure the “missing” stock had not been misplaced during that transition. However, we absolutely should have communicated this with you rather than leaving you to chase us for an update yourself.

Refunds can also take a few working days to appear depending on banks and payment providers, but we understand the overall experience still fell short of expectations.

We genuinely appreciate the feedback as it helps us improve both our systems and communication moving forwards.

We’re really glad you enjoy the atmosphere for Magic and other TCG events, especially our RCQs. We work hard to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all players, so it’s great to hear that comes across.

Hi Oli,

I am very sorry to hear you had a bad experience during our Magic the Gathering night. We have always ensured that those who booked online ahead of the event are prioritised and space should've been made for you.

We do have a very limited space and do the best that we can with it, so I do appreciate that at times it can feel crowded and overwhelming. Unfortunately, unless we can find a larger affordable space in city then our hands are tied.
