Disappointed after a positive start
As a parent, it is truly upsetting to have to write something like this, but this situation has affected us deeply. My daughter went into this store (Cairns Central Mall) with a friend, feeling welcomed and taken seriously, and we genuinely liked the store because of that warm, positive impression. She worked hard for her own money as a student and was excited to buy a pair of new earrings. The staff seemed friendly, and she genuinely believed what she was told about Black Friday pricing… That the special discounted price she received would ‘never happen again.’ The very next day, she saw the same earrings reduced even further, and it felt as though her trust and effort had been taken advantage of. To make matters worse, the salesperson had emphasized that she herself has a daughter, which makes the situation even harder to accept. What should have been a confidence-building, positive experience left her feeling misled and disappointed. It is heartbreaking to see students who have worked so hard for their money have their trust treated this way. This is a reminder that even when a store seems friendly and trustworthy at first, customers need to look carefully and make sure they are getting accurate information. We and her friend’s family had intended to support the store because of the positive impression it made, but that trust has been broken. We will no longer be shopping here, and unfortunately, our recommendation ends here as well.
