I did an internship with Beyond Academy's Tokyo program, and it was one of the best decisions I made in my life. Everything from the coordinators to the events, to the internship itself exceeded my expectations. Tokyo is not an easy place to live, but Beyond makes it so you have a support team the whole time and makes the whole experience much smoother and more fun.

My internship experience with Beyond Academy was incredibly valuable, both professionally and personally. From the beginning, the program was well-structured and supportive, making the transition into a new work environment feel smooth and exciting rather than overwhelming.

One of the standout aspects of Beyond Academy is the level of guidance and mentorship provided. The team consistently checked in, offered advice, and created a strong sense of community among interns. This made a huge difference, especially being in a new city and navigating a new industry. Their workshops and career coaching sessions were particularly helpful in building confidence, refining my professional skills, and thinking more intentionally about my career path.

Through my placement, I was able to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, creative environment. I developed practical skills, learned how to collaborate effectively within a team, and gained insight into the realities of working in my field. The exposure to real projects and responsibilities helped me grow quickly and feel more prepared for future opportunities.

My trip to Tokyo was a lot better going through Beyond! Instead of having to worry about my own accommodation or having to figure out problems I had when getting here, everything was made so much more simple because of the great communication I had with the coordinators! Not to mention the several opportunities you’ll have to make friends amongst all of the events that Beyond hosts, which were great because the coordinators really cared about our opinions and what events we would like! I never felt like I didn’t have anyone to lean back on because they were always there to help my with anything I needed.

I interviewed twice and then literally never heard back from them. They completely dropped me and never responded to me, even after their 2nd interview included a ton of research.

The entire interviewing process was made very easy! There was always support from beyond academy! In Tokyo the coordinators were amazing and super helpful and friendly! I absolutely recommend this experience!

Coming here for 3 months was an experience that I wasn't too sure what to expect. My overall experience was fantastic and loved 95% most of it. Of course, not everything or every single part is 100% positive, but there's really nothing negative I could say about my experience here in Seoul. The friends I made were really awesome, the coordinators were very sweet and understanding, and the colleagues at my internship became very to me like family. My only real negative experience here had nothing to do with the program or Seoul in general. I was just unlucky and had a tooth filling come out on my first day after arriving. But the experience of finding a dentist and getting it taken care of went very well too. If you're looking to take a leap and experience a new chapter in your life, take the leap. You likely won't regret it

I went to London for 6 and a half weeks. Everyone's easy to work with and friendly.

I absolutely loved my time with Beyond! I did a 3 month internship in Tokyo, and would highly recommend to anyone looking into studying abroad. I worked for a fashion technology company as a graphic designer/marketer, which is something I would never chosen for myself but I actually really enjoyed! I met so many amazing people during my time and definitely made some everlasting connections!

Overall I really enjoyed my experience as a graphic design intern. I felt supported in both the program and my internship company. There are event's beyond academy put out each month, really recommend trying to go to as many as you can, they help you stay connected to others and are fun.

I completed the Beyond Academy Immersive Internship Program in Seoul, where I did a fashion internship, and I genuinely cannot recommend it enough. This experience has honestly been life-changing and has shaped me into such a new version of myself.

Beyond Academy helped me grow in ways I didn’t even realise I needed. My skills developed so much, but more than anything, my confidence grew massively. Living and working abroad pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible, and I now feel way more comfortable in my work, in new environments, and in myself overall. I’ve come away feeling inspired, motivated, and so much more sure of what I’m capable of.

One of my favourite parts of the program was the weekly events Beyond Academy organised. They were genuinely so fun and such a good way to explore Seoul, meet new people, and actually say yes to things I probably wouldn’t have done otherwise. They really helped push me out of my comfort zone, and we got to experience so many traditional Korean activities, which was honestly amazing and made the whole experience feel super immersive and special.

The support from the Beyond Academy team was incredible from start to finish. There was always someone there if you needed a chat, some advice, or support if something didn’t feel quite right. Everyone on the team is genuinely so kind, welcoming, and supportive — some of the loveliest people I’ve met — and it made such a difference knowing you were never doing this experience alone.

I’ve also made the most amazing friends from all over the world, friendships I know I’ll have for life. If you’re thinking about doing an internship abroad and want something that helps you grow professionally and personally while still being fun, exciting, and supportive, I couldn’t recommend Beyond Academy more. This experience has given me confidence, clarity, and memories I’ll cherish forever!

The friends I’ve met here have become very important people in my life and I never felt lost or alone, as there was always someone available to help.

Beyond Academy also organized fun activities and cultural excursions for every week that made the overall program feel well-rounded and thoughtfully designed. Other than the set activities, the events always vary, making every week different and exciting. Some of my favorite memories were the Tea Ceremony in Kimonos, TeamLabs and an all you can eat cafe!

My internship in Barcelona was an amazing experience that went far beyond just professional growth. The company I was paired with was genuinely interesting and educational, and Beyond makes sure that you are supported and have a sense of community throughout your stay. However, what truly made the experience stand out were the people. From our community coordinator to my fellow peers, I met some of the most interesting people and was lucky enough to form friendships.
By the end of the internship, I left not only more confident and capable, but with an established community in the city. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and it would recommend it to anyone interested.

Overall a great opportunity to live comfortably abroad. Obviously, they can’t accommodate for everything, but the culture trips and events held are well worth it! They will do their best to find you an internship.

Beyond Academy was the best decision I made post-graduation. Japan has always been a place I wanted to visit (as my grandad used to work there) and now having worked, lived and travelled around Japan, it has become a pinnacle moment of my youth and is helping me navigate my future goals. The support from friends and community coordinators made it that much more enjoyable and easy, everyone was there to welcome and support one another. Take that nervous next step, because I promise you it will be worth it, fortune always favours the brave.

Beyond were really helpful at finding an internship to fit my goals. They organised my accommodation so I didn't have to worry and sorted out transport from the airport. A community advisor is always around to support you and plans great events for you and other interns, so you can experience the city more fully and can make friends with other like minded people. Truly one of the best experiences!

Though I came to Seoul alone with no connections, I’ve left with precious memories, lifelong friends and a n overweight suitcase! The Beyond Academy really showed their genuinity, always putting my best interests at heart. From in depth career discussions and tailoring my resume, to showing how to navigate Seoul on the ground and always checking in on how the work week went.

I really enjoyed the social opportunities with Beyond Academy, as it allowed me to connect with other interns going through similar experiences. Before the program, I struggled to make friends while studying Korean, but here, I quickly made lasting connections. The staff was incredibly helpful, always quick to respond and easy to talk to. As for work, I was lucky with my company—they were kind and supportive, and everyone spoke English. My commute was also simple, just 25 minutes with two transfers. While other interns had different experiences, it's worth noting that travel times and work environments can vary. Overall, Beyond Academy provided an enriching experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional and social internship abroad!
