4 call outs and repairs...

Had these installed for a year and already had to have the installer "Harmony Blinds" to come out and install correctly and repair over 4 times. There will not be a 5th time and I am exercising my right to a refund and reporting to trading standards. The customer support is awful and do not respond. Avoid at all costs, all their budget goes on social media, there is lack of customer support and after care once you have paid.

UPDATE:

You're wrong, the product bleeds light through the material. Both the installer and the material is awful for the price. £3000 for blinds and additional cost for extra trim to block more light which is only held on by cheap adhesive. Shocking product for a premium price tag. Trying to save face by deflecting a users experience. I have sent examples of your product with light bleed through the material. If you actually paid attention to your mailboxes and acknowledged this you would see there is a flaw with the product. The reviews on trust pilot with an average score of 3.7 tells more otherwise your product is subpar.

We believe this review may have been intended for the company that supplied and installed your blinds rather than Blind Screen itself. This is a common occurrence on review platforms, as customers sometimes understandably associate the product with the installer.

Blind Screen is the designer and owner of the Blind Screen® product range. We only sell directly to homeowners local to head office, carry out installations, or manage customer service on behalf of independent retailers and installers. Those services are provided by the company you chose to purchase from.

If your concerns relate to the installation, ordering process, communication, or service received, we would recommend contacting the retailer or installer directly, as they are responsible for those aspects of your purchase.

With regard to the comments about light bleed, Blind Screen products are designed to achieve total blackout when measured and installed correctly. We provide comprehensive training and installation guidance to our trade partners; however, the responsibility for surveying, measuring and fitting the product rests with the retailer or installer chosen by the customer.

We are proud of our products and work with independent businesses across the UK, but we believe this review does not accurately reflect Blind Screen’s role in your experience.

The blinds are a perfect fit

The blinds are a perfect fit, from initial contact with Nathan at order to fitting by Tom the services provided were excellent. The blinds are excellent quality, fitting was efficient with a time slot given and no deviation from this.

Avoid.

Avoid. Appalling customer service and very expensive product. Blinds very delayed installation and first ones had to be sent back pre-installation as faulty, second set we were told were faulty on unpacking, then that the fitter could sort it which he said he had. They look great closed but stiff to open and running cables clearly twisted. Found customer service rude and unhelpful, then entirely unresponsive. Was told it wasn’t the blinds it was the way we were opening them that was causing the issue, then that there was an issue but would damage the walls around the blinds to repair.

Unfortunately, from time to time, manufacturing issues can occur, as with any product, and there can occasionally be an element of human error during production. However, as soon as the issue was brought to our attention, a replacement was arranged immediately in order to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

Having reviewed our records, we can see that all emails, phone calls, and appointments were responded to and handled promptly throughout. We always aim to provide the highest level of customer service possible and did everything we could to resolve the issue efficiently and professionally.

We genuinely appreciate your feedback and are sorry that your experience did not meet expectations.

Not the best experience for me

Not the best experience for me. The installation team took photos and videos of my home without prior approval, and the content was used on social media without my permission.

The blind is not the best fit and is very stiff to open and close. Some of the screws around the frame appear to have been over-tightened, and the trim between the frame and the wall is not finished particularly well. They also did not vacuum up the mess they made.

For a bespoke service that cost over £700 for a single door, it has been disappointing, to be honest.

That said, a relative of mine used the same company and recommended them to me. Their blind screen works smoothly and they were very happy with the service, so perhaps it was just unfortunate luck with the installation team I had that were more interested in getting the socials!

Perfect Blackout Blinds & Excellent Service from Bill”

We’re absolutely thrilled with our new blinds—they’re amazing and give perfect blackout exactly as promised. Bill was a fantastic representative who really looked after us from start to finish and made sure we were completely happy. He brought a range of samples so we could choose the perfect option for our home, and the whole process was quick and easy.

Since having them installed, we’ve noticed a huge improvement in our sleep quality. As an added bonus, the house also stays warmer at night when the blinds are closed thanks to their thermal properties. We couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend!

Title: Avoid – Unprofessional and Rude Small Business

I had a terrible experience with Blind Screens in Derby. They took my deposit and held it for over a month without confirming an installation date. When I chased for an update, they abruptly cancelled my order and refunded me, even though I asked them not to. The manager was rude and defensive, which was shocking from a small, family-run business.

I’ve posted several reviews to warn others, but they keep trying to take them down, clearly worried about the reputational damage. People deserve to know the truth before handing over their money.

⚠️ Buyers beware – extremely unprofessional.

After seeing adverts on Facebook and…

After seeing adverts on Facebook and recently moving house I decided to enquire for a blind with fly screen for our balcony door. We booked an appointment and the salesman showed us the product, colours etc. we were very impressed and although the cost was a fair bit more than I would have liked to pay we went ahead with the order. The salesman had measured up and had agreed to cut away the laminate floor to allow for the blind to be fixed on the floor. ( we haven’t yet decorated the bedroom the floor would be changed in the future anyway) We were told that someone else would come out to remeasure to double check the measurements. After this appointment we were given an install date. Upon installation the fitter arrived and informed us that they were not willing to cut away the floor as originally agreed and that the measure of the blind was incorrect anyway so he would remeasure again and someone from head office would be in touch. I received a call a few days later saying that they would reorder the blind but were no longer willing to cut away the floor and the salesman should never had suggested that was something they would do, he said to think about what we wanted to do and he’d call me back the following day. I received no call back so called them, I spoke to a man in the office who said he was aware of the situation and if I were to move forward, they would be happy to re measure again. I pointed out that it had been measured twice before and that their measure was still incorrect so was not happy with the service they had offered at this stage. I would have been happy to have cut the floor away myself had this not been pre agreed and the man in the office wasn’t so rude. I suggested a discount on the price for the inconvenience but was told that they were not willing to do anything other than refund my money. I cancelled on principle and did receive my refund within a few days. After reading other reviews since, it would appear that we have dodged a bullet with the blinds appearing to be poor quality and issues being ignored.

WOW What an impact

WOW! What an impact the fly screen and blackout blinds made in my sons attic room which has two Velux roof windows…he is a gamer and he now has total blackout a gaming experience on another level.
Great quality frame and blinds material. On initial first visit i was showed a variety of frame types and screen material in different colours on all budgets.
Good friendly service from both fitters and no mess left.

Avoid blindscreen

Avoid blindscreen! Awful experience with blindscreen and local installer. The first install seemed to go smoothly even though the installer decided on our behalf that we wanted a door threshold for our window blind screen (they clearly ordered it in error but weren't prepare to swallow the cost of that mistake), however the screen deteriorated over a few days with multiple cracks in the stitching. The installer came back out, ordered a new screen and then installed this screen in a appauling manner, damaging the window reveal and surrounding paint work. They had clearly either incorrectly measured the reveal or it was installed poorly. After the installer refused to come and rectify the issue (even though they kept promising they would) I got in touch with blindscreen who denied there being an issue with the screen or install. I was in touch with them for several weeks where they eventually gave up and decided to make threatening remarks to me in relation to leaving negative feedback.

Appalling customer service, warranty not worth paper it is written on

We chose Blind screen as a local company from Derby. Initial installation was good however after around a couple of months the fly screen wouldn’t bounce back into place, so we placed a warranty claim. Blind screen came out and said it was a manufacturing default and we had a phone call saying would be replaced, but this would be a few weeks away. Then chased up replacement after 6 weeks as we hadn’t heard anything and told it was our fault the blind had broke as we hadn’t used it properly and we could have replaced at our cost! Not sure how you can misuse a blind with a handle to open it!! Absolute joke of a company avoid at all costs and don’t waste your money.

Avoid

Approached them for recommended installers. Install quality was mediocre. Installer stopped communicating. Blindscreen washed their hands of it. Expensive product, deteriorating quickly. Avoid

I forgot they were coming

I forgot they were coming, but they rang and waited for me to turn up.🫣
I didn't have to ask them to take their shoes off.
They were done and dusted in about 45mins, my rooms are so bright and airy. I can have my windows open wide without pesky flies and wasps coming in.
The blackout screen in the bedroom is awesome...the one in the lounge gives the best effects. Thankyou guys and all the best.

15 months to not even be blackout

I waited 15 months for white fabric to meet quality control (they initially never checked them). The local company that installed them were helpful the entire time but struggled to deal with blind screen and now recommend customers to not buy their products because of how unhelpful the company is.
I've just had them installed today and there is still light bleeding through the structure. The local company checked multiple times before placing the order that a lower trim (allows me to use the window) will still work and they were reassured it would, obviously this was not the case.
Blind screen also forgot to send a part so that will require installation at a later date
I've waited so long, spent a lot of money and I'm so disheartened.

Someone else sent their back for not being blackout and the walls were seriously damaged so I don't know what I would do if they offered to resolve it
