ARROGANT STAFF
Hi all.. My vote for the booth in lytham is 1 ☹ very rude staff...never smile,arrogant...what you think u are?? The only good reason is the quality of product..
COVID-19 guidelines
I went to one of your supermarkets yesterday and needless to say I am rather disappointed of some of the COVID-19 rules implemented. I have been denied entrance in the shop at the same time with my partner which I do not want to begin to list reasons why sometimes, even during these strange times, we do actually need to go shopping with another member of the household. We were then told that if we both wish to go in, we both need one trolley each, to which you have a one out one in person system even though on your guideline clearly states 'one person per household where possible' therefore exceptions can be made and I am fully aware of not wanting to overcrowd the premises!
Rather embarrassed to stay and argue with the member of staff in charge of letting us in and cleaning the trolleys ( by the way, I am not implying he was rude!) I decided to hold back and wait for another person to exit so then I can have my own trolley and then also go in. However, when you are in the shop, some customers forget to really bare in mind social distancing rules and be considerate that others have to shop too - so there is not much point in forcing same household customers to go in separate, with their own trolley if when inside the shop social distancing rules are not strictly reinforced by the company.
The most frustrating thing was to see people basically bumping into friends/acquaintances probably for the first time since lockdown and then stop to chitchat, once again ignoring that we still need to respect social distancing rules. And from what I have noticed, no member of staff was trying to break such gatherings. Needless to say this actually affects those who are queuing outside the shop. If you ask me, that's where as a company you should really be strict with!

I just want to mention I recieved brilliant customer service from the manager, also the staff are loveley.
Cheesecake is disgrace
Cheesecake is disgrace. Bottom crumble layer is 76% of whole cake! Very disappointed
Booths, you let down an 84 year old lady quoting your rule book. Well done!
The following is an account from last night. My mother and I walked to Booths. Mum is 84 an cares for her 77 year old husband with Alzeimer's. We walked to Booth in the evening. At the entrance a young man who was just doing his job refused my mum entry stating that she had come during an hour which is reserved for key workers. As I am a secondary school teacher, told him and he then allowed me to go in. Mum had to wait outside for me.
I was in the shop for approximately five minutes. During that time, I saw two other customers. Booths a medium sized supermarket and as such the whole shop only having three customers in it was nothing short of ridiculous. When I left I thanked the young man and as I left I observed that there was no social distancing queue.
Having grown up there and having two elderly parents who have lived in there for 43 years, I am disgusted at the lack of common sense and consideration shown here. Yes there are rules, but there is also common sense. If I were to be pedantic, I could state that the sign also clearly says that key workers require ID. I did not have my ID badge with me (my head could discipline me for carrying it outside of work purposes due to safeguarding) and was allowed nonetheless to enter the store. Moreover, the lady who followed me in flashed the strap to her ID and there is no way whatsoever that this ID was in an shape or form verified. It was an utter farce.
If that were bad enough, I posted my account on a local Facebook page later on in the evening. The tirade of abuse which then followed in the fifteen minutes before the post was taken down was something to behold. As a schoolteacher I am more than able to brush off childish and aggressive behaviour but this was just risible. In amongst this, an individual identified themselves as an employee of Booths and again just quoted the rules. Thankfully for those people’s sake the post was removed.
In short, this overpriced, advantage taking supermarket has just lost two customers so well done. All I can say for my mum’s sake is hurry up Aldi and build that store! Booths you let an old lady down and it would be in your interest to learn from this.
Fantastic supermarket
Fantastic supermarket. Great range of good quality products. Lovely, helpful & friendly staff. Supporter of local businesses and communities.
The worst shopping experience of my life.
The worst shopping experience of my life. Shopping at Booths in Burscough. Myself and my disabled wife (I am her carer) arrived and went into the store with a trolley. As we were going in an employee said I needed to take a second trolley. I politely explained to him that I was my wifes carer and that I would load a trolley with the goods that my wife wanted and we walked in. The employee ran after us into the shop shouting at the top of his voice that we had to take a second trolley. Effectively I would have to trail an empty trolley through the entire store, whilst filling our main trolley. This would make self distancing impossible. My wife left the store in tears at this point. I asked to see the manager. A man came to see me, he never introduced himself and was not interested in my complaint. I complained on Booths website, only to receive an aloof and disinterested reply from a Michelle Darton. I can honestly say I have never come across such rude and disinterested staff as Booths supermarket.
Used the click and collect service…
Used the click and collect service today from Booths in Clitheroe,
First time using this service and it won’t be the last,
From ordering to collecting, the whole experience was totally professional. Jenny the picker was polite an courteous and a credit to Booths
Once home a slight mistake arose but was dealt with immediately by the staff.
Highly recommended
Booths service freed me from shopping stress
As a vulnerable adult I ordered a grocery box from Booths.
The girl on the phone was patient and lovely.
It arrived yesterday and delivered by Paul , who kept his distance and was so charming and helpful.
The contents far outweighed my expectations.
This service has freed me from worry about ‘ how to shop’
Thank you Booths 🌺🌸🌺
Very good new service
Our experience (first time) of ordering online then collecting the order from Booths Lytham was excellent. This was a service for the vulnerable and over 70's and we much appreciated it today as we are in this group and self isolating and getting food in this situation is difficult.
Lois who loaded the bags in the car was helpful and friendly and we didn't need to get out at all
We managed to place the order successfully yesterday and hope to do the same again in a week's time. However we are concerned that we might not get a slot when we need more food. We would like Booths to offer as many slots as possible so we can be sure of replenishing our stocks.
Thanks for the service

I am not a Booths shopper but decided to call in today. I was pleasantly surprised with the organisation of the staff. The shelves filled in abundance and the pleasant staff. The shelve stockers were actually smiling and have a much needed banter with the customers and each other at this difficult time. I strolled round getting everything I needed without stress and frustration. Was greeted at the till with more smiling faces and hand sanitizer. It was surreal after other experiences when out shopping.Ive certainly become a convert.
Booth's Chorley
We went into Booth's today two carers and a service user to buy toilet rolls, We purchased a pack of 4 toilet rolls each, when we got to the checkout we was told we can only buy a four pack each. And the service user couldn't make her own purchase, A member of staff took one of the four packs of toilet roll from the carers hands. We where only given the toilet rolls back when I said to the staff member this is discrimination

I am writing about the cafe in “Booths Ripon” , as someone who has been using the Cafe since the store opened i am disgusted at the cleanliness of this once immaculate place.
It is well over 1 year ago forwhatever reason they lost their cleaning staff, they have never been replaced and its lucky to get the cafe cleaned once a week, the litter under and on the tables beggers belief..
I have never seem anyone ever clean the tables ( i am normally one of the 1st people on the store at 8am most mornings.
With the advent of this new virus nothing had changed here!
The 1st manager was amazing , now it seems to be rapidly going downhill fast

I love Booths
I love Booths. It's a good northern alternative to Waitrose and M&S for special food items. I mostly use the one in Garstang for the fresh sourdough bread, and things like banana shallots, smoked garlic, cavolo nero and a variety of chillies/mushrooms not available in other local shops hereabouts. I buy the brands of Greek olive oil and apple cider vinegar I prefer, and fish canned in oil instead of tomato sauce. There's a wide range of olives/tomatoes and condiments. I love the locally grown produce, which they seem to champion including potatoes and tomatoes, and the wide range of fresh/packed cheese especially Lancashire cheeses from local makers, Singleton's whey cream butter, Beech's chocolates (made in Preston). My favourite coffee (beans or ground) is a booths own brand. The Cumberland sausage from the meat counter is tasty. They use a thin skin but a spiral done in the oven holds it shape even if it splits.
I wouldn't normally do a regular shop here because the stuff you can get in Sainsbury's as well e.g. cleaning products, pet supplies, toiletries, basics like flour, sugar, baked beans etc is cheaper there. I often buy items when they are on offer.
The checkout staff are usually very nice, especially the Welsh chap, but usually there is a queue as most of the checkouts are closed. That's what loses a star.
When my car's in for service or repairs I go early into the café upstairs for a leisurely read with a large cup of the best fresh coffee with a dollop cream before doing the shopping.
I'm very aware of food hygiene so wonder if the reviewer who thinks she got 'E.coli sepsis' from this shop notified it to the Food Standards Agency as there are no reports of such an incident that I can find.
Lovely stores near me
Lovely stores near me, clean and easy to get around. Staff are friendly and happy to help with any issues.

Recently bought lamb shoulder at the Ulverston store and it was very disappointing to say the least.
It was lacking in flavour and not very tender. I normally buy my meat from an independent butcher near Southport which is where I live. The Booths meat was not a patch on my butchers and I would never buy it again.
Terrible Company
I’m an ex-employee who worked for the company for nearly 9 years.
I had the pleasure of working with some great colleagues and managed to make 1 lifelong friend who is a large part of my life.
I also had a professional and friendly relationship with many of my customers. This though, I am afraid, is where the positives end.
As a company who are meant to be “people focused” I can truly say that it is one of the very worst companies I have ever worked for in my entire life.
The first 3 years did indeed go very well, but years 4 to 9 just got worse and worse at a steadily increasing speed.
You are not treated as a person, but a number. But that’s not the worst of it.... Bullying is absolutely rife throughout management and team leaders.
No matter what idea you come up with, it is more often than not brushed off as “not Booths policy” or “that’s not how we do it” (remembering that this is a company that supposedly celebrates new ideas and praises those who show initiative) Nothing could be further from the truth. Also the 5 company core values are a much shared joke between many employees.
If you yourself have a high standard of organisation and cleanliness but others didn’t, it didn’t seem to matter for them, but if you dropped your standard as a one off due to having too much to do, you would be pounced on, when I pointed out this fact, it just got shrugged off.
Working for this company had a massively negative effect on my mental health. (there were 3 other colleagues effected in the same way) It got to the point where I was off from work quite a few times due to constant malicious behaviour from a team leader. I just could not cope any longer with the manipulativeness and hostile environment mainly instigated by this one individual.
Yes, you might think I’m exaggerating this to strengthen my review or that I brought the nastiness on myself. But nothing could be further from the truth.
When I mentioned these and other equally serious issues to higher management, it was suggested to me that I could sit down with the manager and team leader to discuss the effect that it was all having on me, which I thought could have been positive and helpful. But it never happened, it kept getting cancelled.
If you can at all avoid working for Booths and you don’t want to dread going into a hostile work environment (to the point of vomiting on your way to your shift) then, please please, find another option, you will be so thankful you didn’t choose to be employed by Booths.

St.Annes store management aggressive and argumentative!! Female Manager squared up to me right in my face asked her to leave me alone she wouldn’t! Embarrassing when in front of your son and girlfriend. Booths loss
