The local community is very fortunate.
I specifically chose this branch in Burgess Hill because of a highly skilled and lovely optical specialist who now works here. The local community is very fortunate. She’s not only exceptionally skilled and meticulous with great attention to detail, but also warm and compassionate, especially when working with trauma patients and those who are neurodivergent.

I was running 10 minutes late
I was running 10 minutes late, so called them 30 minutes before my appointment and was assured it would npt be a problem. I was then rudely told when i arrived 12 minutes late that i could not be seen , despite telling them well in advance. I made a special journey. Ive niw booked vision express and will never spend with boots sgain.
Terrible service from trafford centre.

I went for my two year follow up…
I went for my two year follow up appointment and decided to go for the Ultimate eye examination at £50.
The optometrist then explained the results of this before the ususal eye examination.
I was very pleased with the whole appointment and how I was looked after before and afterwards.
I would definitely recommend Boots to family and friends.

This is NOT for store staff they are…
This is NOT for store staff they are amazing ..this is for the central head office communication ..had contact lense check 3 weeks ago - now received 3 emails saying contact lenses will go to store, my membership is being cancelled and I won’t get contact lenses for another 3 5 months - oh and cost has gone up ..then spent 25 minutes holding for someone to talk to at central office with no reply ! Boots head office you are letting your store staff down !!!

I attended an appointment for 09:35 hrs…
I attended an appointment for 09:35 hrs on 23/07 having received four confirmation e-mails over the past few weeks, plus a text message the day before.
I arrived at 09:25 hrs to be told by the receptionist that my appointment had been at 09;10 hrs and that I had missed it. O9:10 HRS HAD NEVER BEEN MENTIONED OR COMMUNICATED IN YOUR CORRESPONDENCE !
The staff could not care less and were dismissive. I had taken time off work for this appointment and I left Boots without having been seen.
I will now book with SPECSAVERS. I wear expensive glasses, varifocal with Zeiss glass lens. Your loss of income.
This also happened with my hearing appointment when a confirmed booking for a full 0ne hour haring test was confirmed but did not exist upon arrival. In that case my visit for replacement upgraded Phonax hearing aids at over £3,500 was lost and I went to M& S instead. What a loss of income for Boots.
I now have no confidence in Boots when they cannot even get the appointment system right.
After 14 years as a loyal customer it is now goodbye Boots.

Kept waiting 45 minutes and left without test
I had the OCT test done. Then I waited 30 minutes for my eye test which didn’t happen as my time was up in the parking bay, so I left. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment as asked at 12.30 and left 45 minutes later. There was no apology that I was kept waiting so long or exclamation until I spoke up and said that I couldn’t wait any longer. What is the point of making an appointment if you can’t keep to it?
I made another appointment in a few days time but only because I signed the NHS form so Boots will get paid for my eye test otherwise I wouldn’t go back. It’s the 2nd time they’ve cocked up my appointment but there won’t be a third. Definitely don’t have the customer care that I would expect from a large company like Boots.

An extremely helpful Opticians, Catterham
The Boots Optician I visited was in Caterham. Having had a bad experience at another opticians, I arranged another eye test at Boots. The shop is a Boots franchise owned by the Optometrist, Ms Hassan. I can only describe the service I received as exceptional. I really appreciate good service.I found the staff at this Boots Opticians really friendly and helpful, but the owner, who carried out my eye tests, was just so exceptionally patient. I have a slight cataract problem which is causing confusion with my prescription. But having been back to speak to Ms Hassan twice since my examination, she still finds the time to fully explain my problem. Great customer service and very knowledgeable.

The helpfulness of STAFF
I recently broke the arm of my glasses on the evening of 19/7/26.
The next morning I visited Boots Opticians in Hailsham.
I explained the situation to Adrianne the member of staff. She was able to locate a similar pair and said She would be able to change the lenses into the new pair, whilst I waited.
Unfortunately the card payment system wasn't working in the store so I needed to get cash to pay.
So whilst I went on a hunt for a working cashpoint machine, Adrianne changed my lenses over.
When I returned to the store, Adrianne had completed the swap and I was able to pay.
The customer service in this Boots Opticians is absolutely brilliant. I have to wear my glasses for driving, so I would have been stuck if Adrianne had not helped me in such an efficient manner.
