Britannia parking notice unfair process
Received a letter from BW legal on 8th Oct demanding payment of £170 for unpaid parking fine. E mailed immediately to request more details as info very ltd. Did not reply to request. I phoned 7 days later to be told that Britannia Parking had issued a parking notice & final reminder prior to issuing to BW legal. When they provided email regarding notice I advised that this had been sent to incorrect address & had not been received. Therefore no opportunity to consider early payment or submit an appeal. Information given by customer services was poor & misleading, they were not transparent regarding process and appeals. Britannia said unable to appeal as date had expired & they has passed to BW legal & nothing to do with them. BW finally agreed that there was no right of appeal as timeframe expired, although they acknowledged that this was not possible as parking notice not received within timeframe. When speaking with complaints manager they agreed that information was not timely but went onto say that it was not their problem as DVLA had given outdated information & that they had followed their processes. There was no human element/consideration given. As no appeal had been made to Britannia we were unable to escalate concerns & unfair process to POPSA. Just a money grabbing exercise for both companies. I hope they sleep well in their beds and consider how they would feel if their families were treated unfairly.
I believe that this company is scamming…
I believe that this company is scamming motorists! I received a fine that i paid thw same day even though they didnt apply the discount and i was dubious of the sincerity of the fine as i never park my soft top car with the roof down but as i have had a brain tumour i doubted my memory. I have now received a last warning final reminder to pay the fine!! I have now started a complaint and will try to get to the bottom of it as what they are doing is outrageous!
ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH
ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH - This company does not properly check data. Colleague got a fine for parking in Waitrose West Byfleet. They pop in usually on a daily basis for lunches, purchases on way home etc. Last occasion they visited on 2 consecutive days 30th Sept and 1st Oct. THIS Company failed to monitor them leaving on the 30th and have fined them for leaving car overnight! Absolutely attrocious. They live locally and have no reason to leave car overnight and can prove they were NOT in the car park....
Disgraceful Behaviour
Britannia operate the parking system at our local Waitrose in Newmarket. This is the second time I have fallen foul of the system, both for ‘offences’ within two weeks in August. I paid the first one promptly in September on receipt the penalty notice and got the reduced amount. The second offence was committed within a week of the first. The penalty letter arrived yesterday, 13th of October meaning that I had already missed the grace period by some considerable amount. I went onto their site to try and pay the reduced period as I had only just been made aware of the fine only to find that it will not allow you to do that. I have submitted an appeal but having read all the reviews on here, I am not hopeful of success. I really do object to being robbed of another fine. On both occasions, I was in Waitrose for the entire period, having shopped & taken lunch there.
Backdated parking charge notice
I went online to pay the £50 fine I received for overstaying my parking time at Waitrose, only to find that Britannia had backdated the issue of the parking charge notice, so the supposed 14 day discount period had already expired and they are demanding £100. What a corrupt company they are. And now they have tainted Waitrose by association.
Issued a parking charge received in…
Issued a parking charge received in post with an issue date on the notice over 14 days prior ensuring no discount for prompt payment could be made. No clear notices having entered via a side entrance Britannia Parking should receive zero stars, but as that is not possible single star applied
Issue parking charge notices even if you've paid
Q-Park Solly St in Sheffield is currently managed by Britannia Parking. I was repeatedly been issued parking charge notices for time periods where I had already paid for the session via their Q-Park app. This occurred on 11 different occasions across August and September, leading to significant periods of time writing appeals to prove I had paid. The notices only stopped after intervention from my employer (who have a discount agreement with Q-Park/Britannia Parking). I appreciate mistakes happen but for it to happen 11 times is really not acceptable. This car park is in a really convenient location and the discounted price is great value, so I really hope the new barrier system prevents these problems occurring again.
I received a Parking Charge Notice from Britannia Parking
I received a Parking Charge Notice from this company on day 15 of the notice date. This meant that there was no way of paying the 14 day "discounted" fine as it clearly impossible. I then received a Final Reminder which also arrived within a couple of days of expiry. It does appear that they "time" their demand letters to maximise the amount payable, in other words it would seem to encourage late payments only to ramp up interest on top of the payments.
Received notice over 14 days after date entered by Britannia to maximise penalty
Issued a parking charge received in post with an issue date on the notice over 14 days prior ensuring no discount for prompt payment could be made. No clear notices having entered via a side entrance at The Old Hall Tavern E4 8EY it was impossible to see any sign in procedure that Britannia advised was at a reception. Venue brilliant, Britannia Parking should receive zero stars, but as that is not possible single star applied.
Absolute scam been going to the gynsils…
Absolute scam been going to the gynsils restaurant for years didn't realise there were cameras in operation because my friend ordered the drinks and food ɓritannia parking didn't notify me within the 14 days after the offence ìt was 25 days before I got the letter so I paid the reduced amount of £60 instead of £100 so beware you don't get caught the gynsils won't be seeing as agaìn after 40 years of going there with family and friends sorry gynsils that's one loyal family's custom you've lost
Was picking my 12 yr old child up from…
Was picking my 12 yr old child up from the cinema, registered the car with the cinema so didn't have to pay, was in and out the car park in 12 minutes - received a £100 fine - for 12 minutes?! I have appealed however, after reading all the reviews - they clearly don't give AF.
Dishonest communication saying discount period expired.
In 2 occasions of visiting a site managed by brittania, I have been unable to use the in premises terminal. On those 2 occasions, the first communication from brittania was a month after the event, says a discounted period has expired. Refuse to cancel the charge. The pub has lost 6 more customers.
Britannia Parking: Profiting at the Expense of Human Decency
Echoing what so many other reviewers have already said: this company’s conduct is absolutely abhorrent.
I was issued a parking charge for overstaying by 34 minutes. Why? Because I was sitting in my parked car supporting a friend who had called me in the middle of a mental health crisis. Apparently, Britannia Parking believes I should have either abandoned my friend during an extremely distressing situation or driven away while distracted by a crisis. I chose to be a decent human being. I appealed the charge, explaining the circumstances, and after two months, the company ultimately decided to uphold it. The complete lack of compassion, discretion, or basic human decency is astonishing. I understand that parking restrictions exist, but surely there should be room for reasonable consideration of exceptional circumstances. Instead, I have been left feeling that this company prioritizes extracting money from ordinary people over treating them fairly. I will never use another Britannia Parking car park again. You genuinely could not pay me to do so. An utterly disgraceful and abominable way to treat people.
Bullies
Bullies.
Even when presented with irrefutable evidence that a parking charge was paid they still go after people with scary sounding court letters. Because they get a discount for bulk claims in the court and most of their processes and letters are automated they can steal peoples time and energy away on spurious claims at next to no cost to themselves.
Despicable.

Carlisle car park
Carlisle car park: paid at the terminal and received a parking notice 14 days later.
From the onset, it was not clear as to why the invoice was issued however as the notice read “failure to validate stay” I felt this indicates failure to purchase car parking ticket.
Appealed the charge via the Britannia process, this was rejected despite sending proof of ticket and again, no explanation received as to why the charge was issued.
Received a further letter which made reference to my plate (displaying no space between the letters and digits) headed up “major keying error”, I then appealed this via popla . Following submitting my appeal, Britannia parking “kindly” decided to confirm the last 3 letters of my plate were only inputted constituting as “a major keying error”. Due to this I lost my case with popla because once the appeal is sent, it can not be amended (tactical move from Britannia).
I opened a case on resolver due to the lack of communication from Britannia parking, filing a structured complaint: highlighting withholding information from me, fraudulently submitting the invoice and for breach of GDPR.
I paid my ticket, therefore no contract was “broken”
I returned to the carpark to check the payment machine was in good working order, it wasn’t and my full plate could not be inputted (backed up by video evidence).
Moving forward, Britannia parking instructed BL law to retrieve the outstanding balance of £170.00, I contacted BL law who confirmed Britannia parking “have withdrawn their request and that the case file is closed” without any explanation.
Britannia parking contacted me today stating the charge is formerly withdrawn due to an admin error, they deny causing me harassment, alarm and distress since April 2026 and due to this, I have a sent a letter before claim notice because I am now going to initiate county court proceedings for damages (plus costs and interest).
Avoid any Britannia car parks, they do not communicate and fabricate information to trick customers into paying highly inflated invoices.
If anyone reads this always appeal, do not ignore payment notices and use resolver as a back up.
Inept greedy morons
They tried to fine me £60 for spending less than an hour in a pub car park, I then had to raise an appeal as the correspondence they sent out was late meaning the charged jumped up to £100. They ever so graciously then lowered the fee back down to £60 and gave me two weeks to pay. I genuinely hope everyone affiliated with this company stubs their toes in the dark for the rest of their bleak existences
DO NOT USE!! 🛑

I broke down and managed to get my car…
I broke down and managed to get my car into a slip road that went through a pub that used Brittania car parks to operate there parking .I didn’t actually pull into a parking bay .(They use cameras) to monitor parking
I checked with someone in the pub to see if I was ok not to pay and they said it was .I managed to get my car going and I was exactly 14mins according to the fine issued.I thought no more of it until 25 Days later I received a parking fine for £100
Reduced to £60.00 if I paid within 14 days ,I immediately sent an appeal in and 15 days on I’ve heard Nothing .According to the BPA
Which Brittania are a member of all people that have parking fines sent to them must be receive Notice of the fine within 14 days ,They sent me mine 25 days later .
They are an absolute Disgrace .
