The Bratisna hotel in Edinburgh is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at no table cloths no cutlery no salt in any shaker the food was all cooked from frozen food the rice was so wet it all stuck together all the Chef (not one ) had to do was heat it up after being dropped off at the entrance witch was boarded up we had to walk down a steep hill not good for the people with walking problems so I will never book with Caledonian bus company again it was £76 for Tattoo tickets £20 for one night in the hotel bus from Paisley and back £250 absolutely shocking 😡😡😡😡

Whaaaat? Trying to set up insurance. Quotes disappear, come back higher half way through application. Then technical error after they have all your details and you can't phone them unless it's for a claim. So angry. Why do they constantly want to rip you off?! And all insurers, lower insurance if you have a more well paid job!!

Try to buy car insurance from this horrendous company after being bombarded with email after email from confused.com I then receive a 1 line reply saying....Oops they cant insure me...no explanation whatsoever, after i spent a fair bit of time navigating their site. Absolutely disgraceful customer service, but to honest I would rather find this out before buying insurance than after. Avoid this company like the plague.

Everything is terrible
Everything is terrible . Rooms are so so dirty and stink of urine duty manager extremely unprofessional and rude. Food terrible and not enough to go round. And there is no where else to go. Cobwebs mould unexplainable stains on furniture dirty kettle stained mattresses and toenail cuttings in draw. Broken furniture etccc don't bother going. Very dirty hotel
Mortified and upset. P&O are a joke
1st time on a curise and I choose britannia with it being the flag ship of the fleet, what a massive mistake!!
What was meant to be a holiday of a life time was a complete and utter disaster. I am a lady with mobility issues so I made sure assist was in place and excursions were all accessible. However my 1st excursion says it all. I was left on the dockside in the rain while the p&o tour manager shouted for all the ABLE BODIED people to follow him as he did not want to get wet, and ran into the shops. He then took the boat excursion out without me!! Obviously I complained and the staff on p&o thought a refund, £100 on board spend and a bunch of flowers was acceptable as an apology. However ever excursion had to be cancelled due to not being accessible which p&o said they were. So I travelled all the way over to Caribbean and saw nothing. I will never be able to afford this trip again.
On board brittania things were not better from carpet plates being raised so kept tripping on them, being served raw topside beef, being served strawberries which the staff knew I was allergic to as staff were told at the beginning of the meal, pool leaked into atrim so was closed for whole day, child was sick in the pool on wk 1 so staff told me to go to my cabin have a hot shower and wait for medical to come and see me. You guessed it, no medical staff turned up, so I could of been sat in my cabin for over a week waiting!! Several elderly people fell onboard breaking bones, some required stitches and several had black eyes and bruises. The entertainment was absolutely shocking, people either falling asleep or walking out during performances. Food in the buffet area was disgusting, completely undercooked and cold. There is rust all over the ship and she is dirty. There was also a few deaths on board and 4 people arrested for fighting, smoking in cabin and drugs. When it was disembarking, the night before p&o staff took my walking aid as assist was in place, again what a mess. Nobody came to collect me from the cabin, I rang reception several times and spoke to the manager who kept saying I had to walk to the other end of the ship. How?? They had taken my walking aid from me so this was not possible!! I was told they dont do assist.... funny that when it was all p&o paperwork that I filled in for assist and they brought me to the cabin on arrival. They left me in the cabin for hours before they sent up a wheelchair to assist me!!!! The whole set up is definitely not disabled friendly.
I'm so upset with my whole experience and will NEVER go with p&o again as my 1st experience of curising was completely ruined. I will never be able to afford to go again and if it hadn't of been for the lovely people I met and the wonderful cabin boy I would of come back with no positives at all.

All these contracted companies you work…
All these contracted companies you work for in cleaning isn't good. You have to scan your work to prove you have done it. You have to be syped on and order your own uniform like just one item. You have to buy the rest of your essential uniform yourself. If you work for contracted companies they sack you and you don't get the right wages. You get taxed on any wages over £150 a Month by their big bosses and tax place. You are put in jobs where you don't have qualifications and if they don't like you they sack you. If you're in the middle of your qualifications and they sack you, you have to pay for the rest of that qualification. Bad language and smoking with phones on for the staff who's been there longer get away with it. Also you are told if you need to turn your phone off and no breaks allowed. If you have only been there a short while. Other staff pick on shirt term staff and report you as it's your fault. They blame you for not doing extra jobs what your not contracted for. When you have an accident in work or on journey to work it from work your sacked. The contracted companies don't cover you for this and staff you bad language in front of any place if work.
You don’t get what you pay for with P&O
Just returned from our New Year holiday on Britannia , as mentioned by other reviews, we had 3 missed ports , Aruba. St Lucia and Antigua. Cruise from Barbados , I booked cruise for itinerary. St Lucia , Antigua visited Barbados many times , we had a power cut on 4th day at Curaçao, we were told later that day by Captain we would not be docking in Aruba the following day due to winds , that day Celebrity Solic , Royal Caribbean ship also a Carnival ship docked in Aruba , we had sea day , that evening whilst on deck my cousins husband noticed only on funnel working he is an engineer, appears only 2 engines working, the Captain did not admit this for 2 days , then we were told due to technical issues we would not be docking at St Lucia for our 2 full days we had to return to Barbados, we also missed Antigua, we spent 3 nights and 2 further days in Barbados, on our return from St Maarten Captain said we could photograph St Lucia on our way past , I have complained as I booked cruise for our stops at St Lucia and Antigua, P&O have offered 25% on board credit when you purchase a further cruise. I checked other reviews stated Issues with technical issues missed ports and maintenance issues , our issues seem to have been on going problem.
Disappointingly slow to respond!
Reported our breakdown due to a flat tyre at 4:35am, on an unlit A road a few miles south of Newbury. I was informed that the response time would be up to 2 hours and I'd be contacted when they were 20 minutes away. Heard nothing by 6:50 am, so rang again to be told there'd been a problem getting a local garage to respond, but someone would be with me within the hour and they'd keep me informed.
At about 7:30, two different breakdown companies had contacted me to say they were responding, so called Britannia again for clarification. I then received further calls from both drivers, so chose the company with the quickest response time and cancelled the other company myself!
Once the recovery vehicle had finally arrived at about 8:30am (from Petersfield, 43 miles away!), the service was very good, although the driver had apparently been given inaccurate details of our location, despite me using 'What3Words', which unfortunately had caused further delay. We were back on the road within 25 minutes.

I used LV Britannia and found them to be excellent. The lady who answer my call listened carefully to me, and explained everything clearly. They were very quick, 20 minutes and polite and professional. All in all, a great service. Would definitely recommend.
Breakdown Friday afternoon
My car had computer issues on a Friday afternoon and within an hour National Rescue were at my house.
The breakdown man was polite and knowledgeable and despite trying to reboot the system, a tow during the working week was required to a local garage.
The next breakdown man was equally polite and knowledgeable and had the car on the truck in minutes.
5* experience with Britannia Rescue and also National Breakdown.
Thank you
I have been with these for 20+ years, I don't remember them being rude and bad mannered.
I have been with Britannia Rescue for around 20 years. I was with the RAC, but following an article in the Yachting Press relating to recovery of trailer boats, I changed to Britannia Rescue. When my annual renewal became due last week we had a hiccup with our bank and the payment failed. My wife called them to pay via card to be told, very frankly, we couldn't pay with our business card. The payment had been taken from our business account for 20 years! I should say we are Sole Traders (not a LTD company) and have been trading for 41 years, therefore we personally are the business. Additionally, we moved address (10 years ago!) and we used our business address as a postal address, including on our driving licences, while we had great fun touring in our campervan, boat and our caravan for almost 8 years. Britannia Rescue were notified of the changes. I should also say we have only ever called them once, near Oswestry, when our bulldog locked himself in our Jeep with the keys in. The operator speaking to my wife, asked if the address was a business address and ask if we lived there, which of course we do not. As my wife tried to explain (we had bought another property early last year when our touring came to an end), the operator said quote; 'well do you live there or not' rudely and with attitude. My wife struggled to explain so passed the phone to me. At this point I also found our boat wasn't covered anymore. Apparently, the trailer is, but not the load, ie. if you have a caravan, the contents are not covered, and the same applied to a boat trailer so this operator stated. With this stance, I asked, 'so do I tip the £25K boat off, weighing 2.8 tons, in a lay-by? Basically, 'yes' was her answer. The operator had already debited our other card by this time and now I am waiting for a refund (14 days apparently even though it has just been taken a few minutes prior). I would hate to speak to this person in a position of needing help following a breakdown, and certainly wouldn't trust them to provide any cover if they could get out of it. It is owned by LV (Liverpool Victoria Insurance Co, as it used to be) and I believe Britannia Rescue should be trusted with that in mind.
Poor communication and very slow
Reported breakdown at 5 pm. Informed that it would be up to 2 hours before I could be recovered and would be contacted when they were 20 minutes away. 7 pm and nothing heard. Rang again to be told there's had been delays with ETA of 7.45 pm. Let's see if they can manage to stick to that and keep me informed. Not impressed so far.
Update: 7.49 pm and not been recovered and no further communication. If I could give a negative rating, I would. Awful service.
Further update: Once the recovery vehicle arrived, the service was very good. Don loaded the motorbike quickly and recovered me to my home without any problems and he was good company too! It's a pity about the poor communication from Brittania and the ridiculously long wait.
Got breakdown cover in 2022
Got breakdown cover in 2022, I would usually make it so it doesn’t renew, but apparently I didn’t this time which could of been a mistake on my side, how ever when calling to cancel after realising years later after 3 payments on a car I don’t own, and explaining on the phone, the women give me a bad attitude, said I agreed to it renewing, and when I asked her to repeat herself, just spoke to me like I am thick. I am expecting 1 refund which is good but didn’t like the women’s tone on the phone and how they take money out yearly without my bank app saying it’s a re accruing payment. Just make sure you check after a year to ensure it won’t renew at a higher price each year

They have poor customer service
My car seized up in the middle of a junction, as if that wasn't stressful enough, the cso I spoke to Lorraine insisted my car was untaxed ( it was taxed) then told me the recovery people wouldn't take me home, but to a place of safety, when i was literally at the end of my road. She had already asked if there were any medical conditions I had, I said I was diabetic and needed my medication, thankfully I was able to ring my partner at home who was able to bring them, but if I'd have been miles away they wouldn't have taken me home, due to their systems being wrong?
Her attitude was awful, no empathy whatsoever
There's some terrible reviews on here
There's some terrible reviews on here. I've got to say Britannia rescue went above and beyond to get us home from France. There was a change over at a service station but apart from that we are really pleased with the service we received.
Absolute scam.
Absolute scam.
Lost my car keys and they refused to take me home as it was too far!! 65 miles.
Told me it was not covered, although the section in there website shows what's NOT covered, and keys are not included in that section.
They told me they would recover me but only to nearest garage.
Now if that is not a contradiction I don't know what is!
They say they ONLY cover mechanical breakdowns, so no electrical issues.
In my policy it says I'm covered for being g stuck in mud, BUT apparently if the vehicle will not drive out they will charge you for specialist equipment such as a winch!
It seems they will do and say anything to not recovery you and your vehicle.
Absolutely disgusting service.
Cover now cancelled and back with greenflag.
Do not go anywhere near this company
Do not go anywhere near this company. You try and cancel your policy and payments are still taken of your debit /credit card. I cancelled in December 2024 and payment were still being taked in May 2025. These people say oh yes we can see you cancelled and we will make a refund only to be told that they are looking at what went wrong. No mention of we have made a refund and are sorry.
