However it is important to note that each retailer has it's own Ts & Cs, so there is a possibility that some items may not be accepted at checkout. You can view the all the terms for each partner when you access your bYond card login.

In addition cash back seems to remain only in Pending, not sure why this is... will try call customer care to find out.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.
In regards to the the pending funds. Once you have performed a transaction, we will automatically calculate the cashback you have earned. This will be in a pending status for 30 days, after which it will transition to paid and we will add it to your Vault balance. From there, you decide when and how much you spend by moving it to your card balance. You can see the status of the cashback for each transaction within your Summary view, with detailed information displayed in the expanded summary.

Not enough retailers and discounts reduced from what the used to be.

Security and your personal details are really important to us, so we do have a high security threshold set in place. This is why you quite often have to do the OTP.

this card SUCKS
this card SUCKS. works about once in every 5 times I try use it. Makes me enter my PIN about 50% of the time (unlike other cards which make me enter pin ONCE in a while!!!) VERY frustrating.

You will be asked to pop in your PIN from time to time when using the card or reaching the spend limit, just as a security measure.
Some retailers do have their own terms and conditions regarding the use of the card, which is what you maybe experiencing. A full list of specific terms and conditions for each retailer can be found via your bYond card login.

Good idea, poorly executed
App rarely works properly, doesn't support digital wallets and is a pain to use. A great idea but feels unfinished.

Good way to save
They have given a lot of emails however as mine is set up through work if the amount is more than what in have in my account they could approve ot and then deduct it from the next payment. The other thing is its kind of long to log in and when u get cash back it shows you will be getting cash back but I am yet to see it come into the account and it has been two months.
I also think for regular companies like superstore for grocery shopping they could offer better cash back to entice more people

So so close
I’m leaving 3 stars as the card does work perfectly and at retailers I use often - it’s “saved” me £295 over the last 2 years!
You can get the most value making big purchases at IKEA and Currys for example.
It would be 5 stars if it wasn’t for these 2 simple things:
1. It has no support for Apple Wallet.
2. It doesn’t have a direct debit auto-top-up, you have to add money (£25 min) manually.
I find myself frustrated regularly in Sainsbury’s at the checkout when I fail to pay because the card ran out of money and you have to faff about like an idiot to top it up in the app on the terrible signal in the shops.

Makes Regular Spending Rewarding
The bYond card has made regular shopping rewarding and exciting.
My wife and I both have bYond cards, I opted for the partner card as she tends to spend in different shops than me.
In March 2025, we used the savings goal 'Vault' function and decided to set a goal £100 by Christmas, I'm proud to say that we've already achieved this within 6 months and still have pending cashback to come in!
What a great benefit!

Clunky app, few retailers and with plenty of exception, monthly fees if you decide to stop topping up... Do not recommend.

We are constantly updating our App, so hopefully any issues you are having will be smoothed out. We are also constantly adding new retail partners, so it is always worth keeping your eye on the website for announcements.
We do clearly include all charges in the terms and conditions you signed up for when registering for the card. The charges are clearly defined in section 16 of the Terms and Conditions under Fees and Charges, where a table of fees is displayed, which you would have read when signing up and confirming acceptance by registering.
The card is designed to be used regularly and allows you to move the cashback earned from purchases to the balance of your card. This allows our customers to earn cashback for purchases they make, which can be used on future purchases.

No digital wallet
I like the card so far, but the fact that it cannot be used through a digital wallet is a serious drawback. I hope this can be solved soon.

Not recommended, hard to get rid of
Card works badly, app works badly and when you want to get rid of it the website mostly doesn't work either. Have tried to get rid of this card multiple times but no one responds. I'm only getting this invite to review because I still haven't manged to get rid of my account.

It delivers on its promise
The best thing any product can do for me is, simply, do what you promise. My experience with Byond is just hat - it delivers. Over the years I have amassed £100s in savings. It is straight forward and easy to use - I negotiate the best price I canm with the retailer, then use the card for additional savings via the rebate. The App works efficiently - it is fast and reliable. I've often topped-up my balance while queuing to checkout.
