CALLA beautiful shoes for bunions Avis 25

I purchased the Daisy sandals in gold. This is my first purchase with the company. The sandals are beautiful and fit well. However, the criss-cross ankle straps are far too short. The strap is so short, it would not even reach the buckle. I have never had this issue with any sandals before now and never considered that I have thick ankles! I do not know if perhaps there is a fault in this pair, but they would need to be approximately 3 cms longer in order to fasten them!

I have dropped one star for the issue with the length of the straps and another star for the fact that the strap length is not listed on the website. The site gives good information regarding width size and what type of footwear is good for certain foot conditions, but nothing pertaining to the straps. This would have saved me time and hassle in returns and postal fees.

I am extremely disappointed as they are such lovely sandals. I have emailed Calla Shoes about this issue.

I have added the below since posting my review as I have since received the following response to my email:

“Another option would be if you did want to keep the shoes you could have a cobbler see if they could extend the straps a little for you. This would make the shoes unreturnable and void any returns policy for the shoes, but I just wanted to give another option for you.”

I am absolutely perplexed that Calla Shoes’ customer service has suggested this. The sandals I purchased were not cheap at £189 and then to have a cobbler stretch the straps, which would probably damage them, or at the very least make them flimsy, is astounding. Added to the additional cost, they would be non- returnable. This is not acceptable advice. The sandals have been promptly placed in the box, ready to return tomorrow.

Excellent customer service. I commented on an Instagram post from the CEO which was about a new range. She took the time to send me a reply to let me know that style was going to be available later that day. However, when I tried to place the order, the online payment page wouldn't accept my gift card payment, so I contacted the CEO on the original message thread who put me in touch with Tracy, the Customer Services Manager, who accessed my gift card and sorted my order out from her end. All within 24 hours. Thank you both for your speedy and kind assistance. 😍

I purchased a pair of Star trainers in the Summer. They seemed comfortable then, out and about in the warm dry months. This winter I went out again, and they seemed quite difficult to walk in on the pavements. Very thin sole with no grip. I had a bad fall, my feet just went from underneath me. I reported this to Calla & was first given a story, about them being more of a fashion trainer, rather than a practical outdoor trainer. I was not happy with this answer, so initiated a Section 75 claim, under the consumer credit act 1974. Following which an email was received from Jennifer Bailey. Which basically rejected the chargeback. She told me a hack to make the shoes slip-resistant is to scuff the soles with sandpaper, a nail file or something else with a rough surface, such as brick, gravel or rock! I remain unhappy, and feel the need to get this out there….

I just wanted to leave a review for Tracy who called me back after having left a query on the answer phone. She was friendly and professional and could not have been more helpful. Credit where credit is due. 5 star customer service!

I now own 7 pairs of Calla shoes, 2 pairs of trainers and another pair on the way.
I am so happy to finally have somewhere I can buy shoes which are comfortable.
The staff have been so helpful in supporting me find shoes which are suitable for my feet. The customer advice and after sales service is second to none

These shoes are expensive and I would have expected quality leather but they are far from it! The leather they use peels away, indicating a cheaper bonded leather coating. I complained about this and was sent another pair but they, too, are starting to peel after a couple of days' wear. So disappointed that a company that purports to sell high quality footwear are misleading their customers. They are not particularly comfortable either so will not waste my money again.

It's a great big thumbs up from me! I’m so glad I found this website. I absolutely love my star grain white and champagne trainers. They are the most comfortable, gorgeous trainers I have ever owned! I look forward to trying more styles from the vast range of shoes, they are a bit pricey, but I do think overall worth it. I’ve suffered with bunions since my teenage years, so have struggled with shoe purchases for decades, never able to find appropriate dress shoes in particular, so much so I now struggle to wear any heals, but looking at some of your styles, I will certainly give a Calla heal a try. For now, quite happy to settle for my comfy trainers😊

I’m so glad that I found Calla shoes. I have very difficult wide feet with bunions. They were incredibly helpful, guiding me towards the most suitable styles. After a success with the star trainer, I then ordered the Luna trainer. I wore them for a night out straight from the box, and despite a lot of walking, I came home with no blisters or bunion pain. The styles and colour choices are wonderful and make wearing attractive shoes possible again. Worth every penny. I am a very happy customer.

I am writing this review here as I can’t add to the website because the loafers I purchased have been slightly changed in style. I have been wearing the loafers for the past 18 months and can affirm they are extremely comfortable. I am leaving 3 stars as my isssue is with the soles. The soles are unfortunately made from rubber and with daily wear are now split on one heel and the shoe with the split in the heel squeaks terribly. I still wear them as my work colleagues are used to the squeak by now and really the shoes are so expensive I feel I should be getting much more than 18 months wear! Please Calla design better more durable soles!
Edited to add I can’t comment on wearing with bunions as I don’t have any but I do appreciate a little more room in the toe box area. They are certainly very comfortable for daily wear - my only complaint is the low quality of the sole.

I have two pairs of Calla Shoes, ballet flats and a pair of suede heels. Absolutely love them, they are expensive but it’s a small company and finally I have shoes that don’t hurt my feet!

I have several pairs of Calla shoes and boots. Finally found footwear that is comfortable for my bunions and stylish! The quality is exceptional, the kind of shoes you will wear for years to come. I live in Canada and delivery was fast with no problems. I will definitely purchase from Calla again.

I have shopped with Calla for over 6 years and have many pairs of their shoes and trainers. I have found their products to be excellent in quality and fit and their Customer Service outstanding.
If you are not sure about a style or fit you can phone them to discuss.
They are constantly improving the fit and there are descriptions of the shoe and what the fit is like in the information provided.
They take on board suggestions and are very approachable.
Any issues I have had have been easily and quickly sorted.
Highly recommend.

Calla shoes are selling very expensive and very uncomfortable shoes. First outing, they almost immediately started hurting. The sole is incredibly thin/unpadded and the shoe box not generous enough. The strap was so thin it cut into my skin. My feet even hurt just standing in them at a party. Customer services refused to help. I have had to spend more money but I can recommend Sole Bliss who supply beautiful shoes worth the cost.

Order was cancelled without explanation, 3 days after my payment was made and taken.
Eventually, a long-winded explanation was sent by email into my Spam account and identical message left on my answer-phone.
6 days later I have still not received my refund.
Very concerning, disappointing and unprofessional

I’ve had two pairs of heels for work from here before with no issues.

I recently ordered two pairs of sandals, I have wide feet not bunions. They fitted my wide feet well but they were just a bit short for my very pronounced Morton’s toe unfortunately, I get that a lot with sandals every where.

I returned them and they refunded promptly but PayPal put a hold on the refund for some reason. I rang Calla up and spoke to a lovely woman at customer services who explained that sometimes PayPal issue an e cheque randomly which can delay the refund. By the end of the day the refund had gone through.

I can’t fault the service and certainly found the shoes wide enough and I have very wide feet.

I ordered the Bethany gold sandals thinking they would be comfortable. They are really tight. Also arrived damaged. I have tried on more comfortable shoes at a much much lower price. Tried to return but my order number is not recognised. Not at impressed.

Calla Shoes are sold as “comfort shoes for bunion sufferers”. They are anything but. I purchased a pair and tried them on at home. Initially they felt comfortable, so kept them. I then wore them to a party and in less than 1 hour I was in considerable foot pain and had to take them off. The following days I experienced more foot pain, particularly bunion ache. I contacted customer service to ask if I could return them as they were obviously not suitable for bunion sufferers, even though they were marketed as exactly that. It was a blunt no. Calla Shoes are ignoring Section 11 of The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and deceiving their customers.

Further to this deception, Calla Shoes asked me to write a review on the pair of shoes that I purchased, which I did. My review did not appear as only 4-5 star reviews are published.

The best customer service I think I have ever had! Really helpful, and so quick to sort a mistake I had made with delivery address. Amazing company to deal with!!

I as really excited to order these shoes as they look beautiful and they do appear to be well made. But I am giving 3 stars as they do not have a wide toe box! I purchased because I have wide toes, no bunions. My toes were just as squashed as they were in normal shoes. Maybe these are good for bunions as they happen in a different area of foot but if you just want enough room for little toes that get squashed dont buy. (I tired some boots and some ballet flats
