Buyer Beware

Before doing business with this company, I strongly encourage you to read the negative reviews on their website and elsewhere online. I wish I had done so.

Their website presents the company as a caring, reputable business that sells quality used parts that are thoroughly inspected and tested before shipment. That was not my experience.

The part I received began leaking immediately after installation. Based on its condition and the fact that it failed right away, I do not believe it had been properly inspected or tested. In my view, it would not have passed a meaningful inspection.

After reading numerous one-star reviews, I noticed a recurring pattern: customers reporting defective parts upon arrival and a difficult refund process. My experience was consistent with those complaints.

Before purchasing, carefully review the warranty and return policy. To pursue a warranty claim, I was required to obtain a written diagnosis from an ASE-certified mechanic at an ASE-certified repair shop, on the shop’s letterhead, along with photographs documenting the defect. I also had to provide a copy of the mechanic’s ASE certification.

At the same time, I was not provided with any documentation showing that my part had actually been inspected or tested before shipment.

Many reviewers also describe receiving dirty parts that appear to have been removed directly from salvage vehicles. In my case, the condition of the part did not inspire confidence. A failed part is more than an inconvenience—it can mean paying an ASE-certified mechanic to perform the same repair twice, resulting in significant additional expense.

The company advertises thousands of five-star reviews, but I encourage you to read the one-star reviews as well. They provide important context about the experiences of customers whose transactions did not go as planned.

Do your research before spending your money. Review the warranty. Review the return policy. Read the negative reviews. Had I done that first, I would have purchased elsewhere.

Instant order confirmation followed by silence. Have tried 2 different contact email addresses after 4 weeks waiting) and no reply or acknowledgement. I've asked for a refund but doubt they'll honour.

Said they were shipping the part that day. Over a week later, they cancelled the order. ONLY after I had to reach out for an update.

Scam artists! Sold a defective ABS and said it wasn’t defective and that they would take it back for resale but wouldn’t give me my money back! Stay away!

Had to return part unused because I traded the vehicle in. They asked for pictures of the part before returning so I had to open the box. I took pictures and put the part right back in the box. When they received it they “claimed” it was damaged and refused my refund. Do not purchase from this rip off company.

Not as discribed. Abs pump/module in rough, rusted condition. Snipped from junk yard vehicle. Appears untested with fittings and dike cut pieces of brake line remaining.

I purchased a part from Car Part Source in November and the used part was defective and caused electrical issues throughout the vehicle making it completely inoperable. 3 autoshops and 6 weeks later my truck was functioning again and the source of the electrical issues was found to be from the used part sourced through Car Part Source. I called the customer service line and explained my situation but due to the fact that I personally did not notify Car Part Source within 10 days of the part becoming defective, they would not refund my purchase. I repeated explained that my truck was in the shop for over 6 weeks and it was not brought to my attention until well after the 10 day window expired. I asked to speak to the manager and was promptly hung up on. I called back and asked again to speak the manager and left my contact information for a return call. Car Part Source never returned my phone call.

Long story short, their return policy looks nice on paper but practically they do not honor it. I would not buy anything from this company again due to their poor communication and inability to understand circumstances outside of the customer's control.

I searched for several months for a affordable ABS control module/pump for my 2001 lincoln town car cartier. Best price was Car Part Source. Buying this exact replacement saved me $250 shop fee as it didn't need to be reprogrammed which was a nice surprise.
The module returned my car to a fully functional state again.

The part I needed was easy to find, reasonably priced, as-described, and worked as expected. I did get a call, text & email from an actual person that wanted to ensure my order information was correct before shipping it out. I would definitely order from them again.

I used this company solely based on their website ad and not by any recommendation. I guess I should have read all the negative reviews first before dealing with them! This business has removed all reviews from their company website which I can surmise is because of all the negativity. I ordered an abs module for my jeep and even though they were way over the average price for this part the picture they provided made the part look really worth it. Even though their ad does clearly state "not the actual part," I assumed for the money it would be close. NOT IN ANY WAY! The part I was sent (for $212.00) looked as if it had just been pulled out of a junk car and thrown into a busted up box all taped up to close all the holes in the box. The part was covered in dirt and grease and the electrical wiring had copper strands showing through the casing. I was surprised that when it was installed part of it actually worked even though part of the unit was not compatible with my vehicle. I wrote to the company several times and the responses were always skirting my main concerns with just replies such as, "If you don't want it send it back!" No real concerns over the condition of the part or the poor packaging. Needless to say I will never be using this company again!

Do not use this business for an ABS Control Unit! The units are not tested and likely will not function properly. Instead send your ABS control unit to Module Masters and they will reasonably rebuild it for you. Working with CarPartSource is like working with the DMV. Instead of working with you on returns, they refer to their restrictive return and warranty POLICIES. I received an ABS Control Module for my 2001 Isuzu Trooper and had it immediately installed. Within 24 hours I had ABS codes and eventually no ABS functioning. I wrote a review of this at the request of CarPartSource at same time, and received a thank you for the review, but no acknowledgement of the non-functional control unit. I knew my unit was supposedly warrantied for 1yr, so I went about getting my original ABS control unit rebuilt with Module Masters. Module Masters did a great reasonably-priced job. My mechanic swapped out the ABS units and My Trooper has ABS again with no ABS codes! When I contacted CarPartSource to return their faulty ABS Control Unit, they informed Me that I was not within their 30 days return period and they also would not honor their 1yr warranty. They laughed at my situation and repeatedly chastised Me for not being familiar enough with their restrictive return and warranty POLICIES. They said it would be unfair to all of their other customers if they treated Me properly and accepted their faulty ABS Unit for a refund! They referred to their POLICIES like your typical DMV employee would. Unbelievable! I have never worked with such a difficult and rude parts business in my life.

The part I ordered from them is discontinued and incredibly rare and near impossible to find. I was very skeptical as I dealt with a different company that offers the same service and it was a scam. I called ahead to see if the number works and asked if the shipping estimate of 2-7 days is reliable. They said it was but it ended up actually taking 9 days. But they were extremely communicative throughout the whole process. They called me with updates a couple of times throughout the process. Once the part shipped it arrived within 2 days so it was fast. It was packaged very securely and was exactly as described. I'm not sure if they actually do run and test the parts because that would take hours and a running car exactly like the one the part was taken out of. But the part does work in my car so that's all that matters. I would trust them and recommend and buy from them again. I only removed a star because I had specifically called and asked about the shipping time estimate and it was off. Other than that, if you can wait a couple extra days, go for it.

I never thought buying recycled car parts would be this easy, (or fun- Natalie has an amazing personality). The employees at Car Parts Source are knowledgable, and easy to communicate with. The web site is user-friendly to search for parts, and there's a great selection, and they got what I needed to me quickly. Highly recommend!

I ordered an engine from Car Part Source for my 1995 Mustang convertible that I am restoring. I was a little weirry about buying a used engine online since I wouldn't be able to see the condition however after the engine arrived at my mechanics shop I was stoked to find out that it was in great condition just like the rep had told me it would be! The engine was well priced and arrived on time. All in all the transaction went smoother than I could have ever hoped for. One step closer to getting this car on the road!

This company had great service and they send me a excellent used engine. I was shopping around for a engine for my 01 Ranger for a couple weeks and decided to try Car part source. I was a little nervuos because I couldn't find much about the company bu, the lady on the phone seemed nice and knowledgeable so i went for it. plus they had free shipping, no tax and a 5 year warranty can't really beat that. Anyway the engine was in really good condition. happy with it, would recommend.
