We had such a wonderful experience with Charli Tours in Sri Lanka and couldn’t recommend them more highly. Charli’s wife drove us for the day and instantly made us feel welcome and relaxed, she was warm, professional, and clearly passionate about showing visitors the best of her country. We started early with a whale watching trip, and the whole experience felt smooth and well-organised from start to finish.

Afterwards, she took us to see traditional stilt fishing, which was fascinating to witness up close, and then on to beautiful Galle where she shared lots of local knowledge and great recommendations.

We also visited a moonstone mining area, which was something we would never have discovered on our own, such an interesting and unique experience.

She was joined in the car by her partner, and together they made the journey even more enjoyable. They were both incredibly friendly, informative, and happy to answer our many questions about Sri Lankan culture, history, and daily life. The conversations and laughs along the way made the whole day feel less like a tour and more like travelling with friends.

What really stood out was the personal touch, nothing felt rushed, and they genuinely cared that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. It was a perfect mix of sightseeing, learning, and fun. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, kind, and reliable team to explore Sri Lanka with, Charli Tours is an excellent choice.

Tog afsted dagen efter.
Starten på dagen var ganske udmærket, det var Charlies søn der kørte TUK-TUK, sød og behagelig ung mand. Vi var på en " flod safari ", så et tempel og blev derefter kørt til en krydderihave. Vores chauffør var væk. Efter 1/2 times venten, kom Charlie selv, Nu skulle vi på shopping-- Ja, tak-- vi blev trukket rundt til alle han kendte- om vi ønskede det eller ej.
Købte vi noget, havde vi i hans øjne ikke brugt penge nok. Købte vi ikke noget, fremtrådte han utrolig fornærmet.
Derudover brugte han vores betalte tid til, at forurette sine egne indkøb og ærinder..
Alt i alt, en meget dårlig oplevelse.
Derudover var hans tiltale til os ikke særlig behagelig.
Vær opmærksom på, at hans prisleje ikke er favorabel.

Charli organised a trip to Ella and Kandy for us, his son was our driver and we can't thank him enough for showing us all the sights. Very well educated young man who's English was amazing and we learnt that he also speaks Japanese.

Ein Gauner wie es im Bilderbuch steht! Haltet euch fern von den Touranbietern am Strand des Riu Hotels und sucht euch einen tollen Guide im Tuk Tuk vor dem Riu Hotel. Dann erlebt ihr auch wirklich einen schönen Urlaub.

We had a pretty nice time on our two tours with Charlie and his son BUT do not go to the spice garden Dr. k. Perumbuli Arachchi because it’s a tourist trap. The products are not garanteed to be legit and the “doctor” honestly don’t know how much of a doctor he is. The prices are definitely exaggerated and overpriced and if you read the reviews of this place you’ll see everybody is unhappy with the place. Charlie do better and stop working with this scam place!

Also make sure to ask all the questions regarding the trips itinerary beforehand and establish a clear schedule and price.
Remember this is Sri Lanka and they give you higher prices than in Europe so don’t ever accept the first price and always negotiate!

While at the hotel we arranged a tour and the options was presented by the tour operator Charli Tours, to choose tuk-tuks, Car or Van hire with a guide , We decided to take the tuk-tuk as a family of three my daughter enjoyed the feel and the open air of the tuk-tuk, the tour guide took us to a number of beautiful places include the turtle sanctuary and beautiful local places to eat, My daughter truly enjoyed the tour and the tuk-tuk. Thank you again Charli Tours, as we had lovely memories of Sri-Lanka.

Never choose this travel agency!!!!!!! Very poor organization, incompetent guide, driver who was lost all the time. The worst overpriced trip in my life.

Just got back from a Charlie Tour
What a day!
Tuk Tuk to so many places, including a boat safari on the Lagoon, a temple, feeding Black Monkeys, holding a baby Alligator that was due to be released when old enough and releasing Turtles on the beach!
Hashan was a safe driver and very informative. We felt safe and learnt so much! Nothing phased him and he was so flexible too.
So, we're off on another tour tomorrow!
Whale and Dolphin watching, stilt fishermen, Galle and a few other stop offs! Can't wait.

Wir haben Charli direkt am ersten Tag unseres Urlaubs kennengelernt und uns relativ schnell dafür entschieden unsere weiteren Touren mit Charli zu machen. Es war genau die richtige Entscheidung, denn Charli und seine Familie haben uns die schönsten Spots Sri Lankas gezeigt. Charli hat alles möglich gemacht und ist auf unsere Wünsche nach individuellen Touren eingegangen, hat uns sicher an die gewünschten Plätze gebracht und uns nebenbei allerhand wissenswertes, interessantes und neues über das wunderschöne Land erzählt. Gemeinsam haben wir eine Zwei-Tages-Tour nach Kandy und Sigirya und Dambhulla gemacht, sind nach Ella ins Hochland gefahren um dort eine der schönsten Zugstrecken zu fahren, haben eine Teefabrik besucht und noch vieles mehr. Charli hat immer tolle Spots zum Essen rausgesucht und auch unser Hotel in Kandy war wirklich wunderschön. Wir können uns nur immer wieder bei Charli und seiner Familie für die wunderschöne Zeit bedanken - so wurde unser Urlaub unvergesslich!
