Came in to buy a mute for a new trumpet, as someone who doesn’t really know what I am doing Amrik was absolutely amazing. Such a kind guy and immaculate vibes, was really encouraging about starting to play and showed me a selection of mutes. Had a really nice chat with him and absolutely made my day. Also helped us with some guitar strings! Will be coming back for anything and everything musical that I need :)

The khanda at the front of the shop is what drew me in. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a guitar shop with a vast amount of guitar. The store owner was also very helpful and polite.

I've been to chase quite a few times over the past 2-ish years, bought my first guitar there, but this time I was very thankful and utterly grateful for the shop owners patience with me as I spent nearly 30 minutes looking for one single 9V AC wire to fit my microverb 4.

Amrik was lovely with helping me purchase some new strings. When I returned with a broken bridge pin he kindly gave me one of his own for free! A lovely person and will definitely be returning.

The shop has a huge selection of branded and non-branded stock. Amrik's customer service is second to none. He will help with selecting the right product at the right price and will offer helpful advice.

It must be about 20 years since I bought a couple of unbranded, soft leather guitar straps from Chase. They are perfect for acoustic guitars. I went in again today with no hope of finding the same product, but am delighted that, to my intense surprise, I did find it! What's more, Amrik is STILL THERE and long may he, and Chase, continue.

Have always walked past this shop and was glad to have an excuse to go in when getting a birthday present. The shop's great - got exactly what I needed thanks to Amrik's help and was just nice to be in an environment where other customers are playing guitars and having conversations about music. Chase Direct is an amazing store for any sort of instrument, whether you need advice, need anything fixing or want to go and buy a instrument you will have everything covered with the best customer service you could ask for, he’s friendly, knowledgeable and will help with any questions you may have and lets you try out anything you want, I have now bought 2 guitars from here, one acoustic and one electric and they are both amazing quality, and I will be coming here for more in the future.

20 odd years ago as a young man I used to go to Chase for all my music equipment, production gear and general advice. Without fail I’d always be greeted with a smile, was advised to what I needed (usually something much cheaper than I had anticipated) and was never made to feel ignorant or intimidated in the way that often I would when going into the domain of an expert. My questions would always be dealt with kindly and on the rare occasion that something had gone wrong with a purchase it was resolved quickly. I would always recommend the shop to friends and family members but I moved away many years ago and so had not been for some time.

This afternoon I have found myself back in town as I need to plan for my father’s funeral and found myself in need of a cable to connect a laptop to a PA, once again I was greeted with a smile, offered a warm handshake and was sold an adapter rather than a cable to save me a few pounds. I’m so glad to see that this business is still around in a Northern Quarter that has changed so much and that the same attitude has remained. I recommend this place to anyone, an unassuming cornerstone of Manchester music culture.

Amrik made me and my girlfriend feel very welcome in his store, encouraged me to try whatever I liked and was generally wonderful to chat to. I will most definitely be coming again - Alex

Amrik (Mr synthesiser) was great! Great stories from his music days and very informative about his stock! Not pushy whatsoever so go down and have a jam and if you want something you can buy it!
