Unprofessional conduct, hidden charges and 10 days with my money held hostage
I placed an order from Chessnut Tech on October 13. Three days later I received an unexpected email from a non-official address demanding an extra USD 170 for shipping — a fee that was never disclosed at checkout and directly contradicts their own Terms & Conditions.
From October 13 to October 23, my money was essentially held hostage. I repeatedly contacted Chessnut, and every 1–2 days I received the same automated, copied message. No real support, no explanation, no attempt to resolve anything — just a bot repeating the same template response over and over.
When I refused to pay undisclosed, last-minute charges, they simply cancelled the order without my consent. They silently issued a refund on October 23 without notifying me in any way. Had I not checked everything manually, I wouldn’t have known the refund even happened.
The issue is not the refund itself — it’s the attitude.
Chessnut openly violates its own rules, provides zero real communication, and makes every problem the customer’s problem. If anything goes wrong, you are completely on your own. No support, no responsibility, no accountability.
