Boundary breach and automated hassle -account closed
I am a long-time customer who officially closed my account today due to a major breach of boundaries. After a simple issue with an order, Chewy attempted to inject themselves into my energy and space by sending an unsolicited return box and initiating a process I never consented to.
As a business owner, I value autonomy and clear communication. Chewy’s refusal to listen to my 'No' and their insistence on an automated, high-hassle return process was the final straw. I have moved my business to local suppliers who respect my boundaries. If you value your peace of mind and sovereign control over your purchases, be warned: their 'convenience' comes with a heavy price of corporate overreach.

The products are what my cats want but don't trust these thieves
The products are what my cats want. aside from that, their so called autopilot option is presented in a rigged and misleading way. for instance I asked for autopilot delivery for an item every 4 weeks and they quoted a low per unit price but when I got to the checkout -suddenly the total price was right back to the original pricier per unit cost. That's a clever form of stealing that chewy evidently believes no one will notice. I did and it soured me on their lack of integrity. when i called them on it, several times, the call was suddenly disconnected each time after asking me to hold the call until they came back. No wonder my veterinarian will not deal with them.

I have never had an issue getting items and had multiple auto shop orders over the years. My 11 year old lab recently passed and the auto shop of food and supplements came days later. Contacted Chewy to see if I could return the items. They told me to donate them to a local shelter and credited me within a day! Today I received a sympathy card and beautiful hand paints rock with my dogs name. Who does that?! Thank you Chewy for making things a little easier at a time when that is very needed!
Spent almost a hundred dollars to…
Spent almost a hundred dollars to overnight and register prescriptions for my dog. They never received either one as of two weeks later. My wife called last week they said they did receive one. No idea which one. Customer service contacted me at midnight to get details on my account. That’s great waking up at midnight to see that. Do not recommend.
No flowers???
I've purchased from Chewy for all 3 of my Wire Fox Terriers. My last pup, Violet, passed unexpectedly and traumatically, this past New Years Eve Day 12-31-2025. I never received flowers from Chewy as I was assured to receive whan I notified them on 1-5-2026 to stop my autoship. I called their customer service three times about this. The last time was 3-7-26. I called from the hospital where I had been admitted several days prior. Obviously, I was sad to begin with, but never mentioned this. The woman that I spoke to was nice, but she explained that it's arbitrarily up to Chewy to do that kind gesture. I guess that I wasn't one of those customers. Chewy lost my future purchases to PetSmart because of this. Flowers were a greatand kind marketing gesture on Chewy's part. I want to send a Thank you to Chewy, Everything from delivery to customer service, they have always been the best. We received all our cat food and supplies from them for many years. Until our Senior cat crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of 21. After our cat passed and we had to cancel our orders they sent us flowers. I don't know of any other company that would be this thoughtful. Thank you again Chewy.
When customer service shows it's true heart
I meant to leave this review a while ago. I have shopped with Chewy for years, for my cats and dog. Last year I bought Organomics canned dog food as backup for my aging, raw-fed pup. Somehow I had autosubscribed, and under other circumstances I would have kept it and just cancelled future orders, but after some delay I called to return it and complain. Customer service is top rate, completely pro and polite always in my experience. But this time was different. To my grumpy, minimally communicating self, he asked why didn't want to keep it and I managed to say the words, "Because my dog died." And I knew he could hear me crying. His careful and kind words were an offering to my hard shell of grief. When flowers came in the mail, with a card from Chewy, I cried some more. It's been at least eight months since I lost him, but you know I can't write this without crying again. My grief is my own, I don't share it often. The voice on the phone, the flowers on my kitchen table, they were a gift to my broken heart. Thank you Chewy, and the man on the phone.
Chewy is good!
Chewy, as legends foretold, had incredible customer service. Since it's become available in Southern Ontario, I've made a handful of orders. They were all delivered really fast, like Amazon-level fast. And I've been sent a couple of gifts! They sent me a painting of my dog, a tag for him, and some birthday cards for my pets. So far, I'm pleasantly surprised with them as a company. They carry most of the pet supplies I need; though I wish they had a wider grooming tool selection.

I've been using chewy since 2019. My kitty had to be put down today. I had just received an order for about $200 including shipping. I asked if I could return it cuz it since it was unopened. They reimbursed me and told me to donate it. They didn't want me to have to deal with the return. Very generous and kind. Also, not once in 7 yrs did they mess an order up.
Surprised and touched
We have used chewy for many years for our dog and always extremely satisfied. Our pet passed away approximately a month ago and chewy, out of the blue sent this beautiful hand painted rock with our babies’s name on it along with a lovely card, which was extremely unexpected and very much appreciated. It really touched our hearts and showed how much they care about their customers. You have no idea how much that meant to us. Thank you so much for the personal touch. I hope to be able to add a picture to show how special it really was.

I have used Chewy for years. Always satisfied. Recently they started sales promo where they give you a free 30 day membership after they charge $79 mo!! I never signed up for membership. They credited my charge but takes up to 5 days. On fixed income. I lost use of $79 for this unauthorized charge. Was/ is very imposing on me. Will not trust chewy with my personal pay info ever again.

I went to their website and initiated a chat to ask questions about the issue. The rep. initially said he knew nothing about it. I asked him to have someone contact me who did know. Five days later, no response...although they did send me a link to rate my latest order. It will be the last! Here's the issue and what I asked:

I have been a customer for awhile now. Today I heard that Chewy sells Marshall Pet Products. I went to your website and chatted with someone named Jordan H, and asked about the relationship with Marshall BioResources. He claimed to know nothing about it, but eventually stated that Chewy does sell their products.
I am saddened that your company is selling toys and other merchandise from Marshall Pet Products, a company owned by Marshall BioResources—one of the largest animal-breeding facilities in the U.S. for testing.
At Marshall BioResources, animals are confined to windowless buildings. The company has been cited for housing dogs and ferrets inside filthy, wire cages in buildings full of pests, and also for failing to provide animals with adequate veterinary care.
Please reconsider your relationship with Marshall Pet Products (and by extension Marshall BioResources). Companies that claim to care about the well-being of animals shouldn’t be peddling live animals or propping up the cruel and deadly animal experimentation industry.
Your response will determine whether I continue to use Chewy for my dog's needs.

PS.I gave the company two stars because the products that I do use are not from Marshall Pet Products, and before this, I had only one issue which was resolved fairly quickly. Search is on to find a pet supplier that is ethical.
Saved Money on Pet Meds
I have saved quite a bit of money on my cat's prescription medicine with Chewy, and the speed at which they process and ship pet med orders is amazingly fast! I ordered early on Monday morning and got it on Wednesday!
I'd like to see more competitive pricing on prescription cat food, specifically Hill's. They must be really proud of their pet food because it is outrageously priced, and if Chewy could offer it cheaper I'd order that too.
I highly recommend Chewy for pet meds!
3 interactions in 2 months - ALL VERY GOOD
I have had 3 dealings in the last 2 months
First and VERY IMPORTANT IMHO - a Human Being answers the phone quite quickly - Oh what a JOY!
Second, I bought a compounded topical prescription cream that my vet provided the RX for. Used it 3 days before my cat had an adverse reaction (Vet said, while not commonplace it is a known reaction in some cats) and recommended Diet instead of Drugs - when I bought the food at Chewy next and told the story they immediately refunded the cost of the Compound - that was NOT expected but exemplary of what great companies did in the past that almost none do today. I am the first to loudly complain when companies behave badly - fairness requires that I make loud mention when I find a company behaving really well!
Simply the best
Chewy has always been wonderful to work with. When I used to have a subscription service, they would ALWAYS deliver on time. ONE time a package was damaged due to INCLEMENT weather and the delivery person, and they replaced it, no problem. I can recall at one point, my online account getting hacked by someone who is trying to purchase materials for their turtle in another state and I contacted chewy immediately. They were able to put a stop on it and make sure that the funds were back in my account. We reestablished a different account within a few minutes.
We have lost pets before and received a card and flowers, expressing their grief at our loss. At that point we were told to donate the latest delivery to a shelter. This company is one of the best companies we have ever worked with! They are understanding and compassionate, and when you need to speak with someone, they truly appear to care. It is very rare to find a company like that nowadays. A+++
The most annoying service
The most annoying service. They would take order than wouldn’t deliver. They say prescription is not confirmed. Than you order again and they would deliver. Like you never know if this time they would deliver or not!! I’ve been relying on them to deliver because they confirm the order and prescription is current but than it wouldn’t arrive in time and I have to go to pslhysical store on my super busy schedule. This has been beyond annoying
