My name is Fabiana Papaleoni and I am an Italian and Latin languages teacher and tutor. I grew up in in Italy where I graduated in Italian Language and Literature at the Universita’ di Lettere e Filosofia in Parma. Simultaneously, I pursued violin performance and music studies at the Conservatorio di Musica “Arrigo Boito” in Parma. I work as Adjunct Lecturer at the University of New Haven CT and I am currently an Italian Teacher at the AUX 3 POMMES, LLC Foreign Language School in Guilford and I work as Per Diem Substitute Teacher at the Guilford Public Schools. I offer Italian language courses, private lessons, book clubs and seminars about Italian Art, Music and Literature. I also offer private assistance to costumers in organizing trips to Italy. I design and develop each student’s program based on their goals, level, and interests, with the help of a variety of materials. I personally create presentations and handouts, and I get support from printed books as well as online digital resources after I assess their value for the course. The use of technology is an essential tool in teaching a foreign language, and I rely on websites that offer a vast range of language exercises and games, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and music, often easy and free to use, that can help efficiently with the progress of the learning, meet the student’s interests, and provide some entertainment. I offer my lessons in person as well as online, being aware of the invaluable advantages of distance learning.

Learning Italian
This was an introductory Italian class for me. While I am familiar with spoken Italian, I still find it challenging to form full conversations. The instructor was encouraging and clear, and she carefully guided us through verb usage. She created a comfortable environment that made it easier to practice speaking Italian with others. She also provided practice materials, videos, and other useful resources. I recommend this class for anyone interested in learning or improving their spoken Italian.

Really enjoyed the class. Got a foundation for italian grammar I could not learn via apps. Fabiana makes you feel welcome and is encouraging.

I liked the pace and timing
I liked the pace of the course and having it on zoom was so convenient. I enjoyed the pronunciation exercises. That was really helpful the time slot for lessons was wonderful. I was going to sign up for course 2 (I was late doing it) but I was back and forth since 7 is a more difficult time slot for me. I would love to see a cooking course on zoom but I honestly can’t think of how that would work.

Excellent Teacher - Bravo!
She was very kind to our inabilities and allowed us to speak aloud and learn correct pronunciation. SHe had excellent materials prepared for us to work on together, both take home and in class. She shared some fun activities like music and movies in Italian.

The class was always on time, professional and fun.
My Italian lesson was made great because of the instructor! She was easy to understand and was excellent with all of the students 'different levels of the knowledge of the language.
