Would not allow me to edit my booking simply to add another day "because it is within 48 hours of the start time", with no other reason than this. Since I booked through them I also cannot edit the booking with the car company directly.
Gave me a good price for the days I did but gives absolutely 0 flexibility.

Totally disappointed. I booked a car for 2 days and paid online where they confirmed the price was total. When I arrived to pick up the car I had to pay almost 90 euros more, which was never mentioned. I called support and they could not help me or apologize. Totally disgusting and disrespectful.
Booked a Hertz car on a Friday for the following Wednesday at 8am, the cut off to cancel free of charge is 48h ahead i.e. by Monday 8am tried to cancel on the Sunday but website changed to say cut off is 72h ahead therefore cannot be done online, tried calling instead but phone number is in Munich (I'm in UK) and not in service, Hertz branch are unable to help and keep redirecting me to CompareCarHire.co.uk, it is now 8am Monday morning and I have called Munich, Hertz and the parent company and I either can't get through, no-one can find my booking or is able to assist. So far this has taken 1.5h and still unresolved. There is no UK phone number for customer support and the customer forms on the website say they may respond in 1-3 days!

Booked a car via the website which was a really easy process and explained everything we needed to do from start to finish. We opted for the worry free option. When collecting the car, the customer service received from the employees at Hertz at Bordeaux Airport was second to none, same upon returning the vehicle. There were no issues when the voucher was produced and certainly no pressure to take out further insurance. Excellent all round, thank you..!

I booked a car for a few days in Sheffield thinking I had got a good deal through this broker. I'd put in my age at the time of booking but was allowed to go all the way through to submitting the payment without any implication that there would be extra charges due to being 25 y/o.
I was firstly less than impressed that when I turned up an the downtown office of the car hire company, I found that it had closed over a month ago! I was then directed by comparecarhire's staff to make my own way to the hire company's new office in the middle of an industrial estate not easily accessed by walking out of town.
When I arrived just before completing the pick up process I was informed by the car hire company rep that due to being 25 rather than 26+ I would be liable for a £35 A DAY young driver surcharge and directed my attention to a tiny clause on the second page of the broker's voucher.
Despite ringing up comparecarhire at the time, I was offered no apology for either having to walk to the car hire company's new site, nor for their failure to make this local fee known before I entered my card details and confirmed the booking.
The last word was that as the booking had now been made, there was nothing they could do, and in fact their customer service department would not even be able to help me until after the end of my proposed booking period.
Absolutely awful customer service, I'm kicking myself for not just going direct to a hire company, avoid at all costs!
