Écrit par l'entreprise

We started out with a belief that yoga can transform you—on and off the mat. When a serious climbing accident left him with six permanent screws in his shattered ankle, CorePower Yoga Founder and CEO Trevor Tice experienced first-hand the transformational benefits of yoga. An avid outdoorsman from Telluride, CO, Trevor was left searching for an exercise to replace the running, climbing and other physically challenging activities that were no longer accessible to him. He found yoga, and was hooked. Traveling for his technology business, Trevor practiced a variety of yoga disciplines at yoga studios across the country and found an opportunity to make yoga dynamic, challenging and convenient. In 2002, Trevor opened the first CorePower Yoga studio on Grant Street in downtown Denver, CO, offering a proprietary form of athletic, heated yoga in modern, welcoming and spa-like studios. With six teachers, including Trevor, teaching four classes per day, it took several arduous months before classes began to fill up. But they did. And it wasn’t long before people were talking about this new yoga.

Inspiring Training, But a Deeply Unsafe In-Person Experience

CorePower offers an amazing online training experience—Paige Moe and her team are professional, supportive, and genuinely inspiring. Their leadership makes the training empowering and educational from start to finish. However, my in-person class was the complete opposite. The instructor began by saying she would usually run Sculpt classes “like the Navy” but would “go easier” on us, only to spend much of the session calling students “lazy as f***” for taking water or child’s pose. At one point, she even told us that if someone asked whether we’re hard workers, we should answer that we’re “lazy f***s.” To end class, the instructor said, “Don’t f***ing gaslight yourselves. Maybe working out isn’t for you—maybe walking under a nice shaded tree is more your thing.” While self-acceptance is important, the delivery felt harsh and discouraging. Worse, during another in-person class, I was touched on the inside of my thigh without consent. The incident was serious enough that I reported it, and the police confirmed it was assault. That experience left me feeling violated and unsafe in a space that should promote trust, respect, and healing. Adding to the discomfort, the studios are overcrowded, with mats packed only a few inches apart. There’s little personal space, and the heat combined with the lack of ventilation makes it feel suffocating rather than energizing. CorePower’s online program remains excellent, but the in-person culture I encountered failed to uphold the same standard of safety and care. Until the company enforces stronger consent policies, accountability, and instructor oversight, I can’t recommend their in-person classes.

CPY introduced me to yoga! And I love it

I love being able to drop into classes whenever, and there are several SOLID teachers at my nearby CPY studios. The only two 'cons' I can think of are that they rely on teacher and SET team members to clean (rather than having separate cleaning staff), and you have to cancel your monthly membership with 30 days notice which is inconvenient.

I took a class in the Raleigh

I took a class in the Raleigh, NC studio. North Raleigh studio I think it is called when you register. The studio was clean and the class was fun/challenging. Locker room was clean and had products to shower after.

horrible customer service they took…

horrible customer service they took nearly $272 from my account without authorizing after a trial membership. The studio is too far away and I had no intention of continuing a membership. I asked for a refund and they would not give it to me. They only offered me a store credit. I am furious.

Corporate Yoga, Poor Staff Treatment

Corporate Yoga. Very brand consistant with appearances and classes. Kinda like McDonalds, same experience regardless of the studio. That can be good or not depending on your preference. Strictly an asana practice, instructors are not allowed to bring Yoga philosophy into classes.

They do not pay or treat their instructors, support staff and managers well and have had a lawsuit (or two?) over that. The company was very top heavy with upper management making lots of money with anyone below them earning less than minimum wage. Perks for upper management included all inclusive resort vacations where money was free spend on alcohol and drugs. I don't know if that is still the case, but disparity between the top executives and their employees is exceptionally unyogic.

Truly the worst customer experience

Truly the worst customer experience. The amount of times I've emailed and called their customer service line in the past 5 days is insane. I've gotten someone on the phone telling me they will CC me right now on an email for someone to help, and 40 mins later- no email.

Payment without membership

Decent gym love that it's 24 hrs. The problem is I cancelled my membership and 2 months later they continue to take money from my account which is strange considering last month when I called them I was told they deleted my account info. Shady business practices.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. There is never a manager on duty and they refuse to return your call if there is an issue. Referred someone and after three weeks, no points and no resolution.
