Country life furniture Avis 

We are very pleased with our extending farmhouse table from Country Life Furniture. We were looking for a table that would be small enough in its standard form to fit into the dining area in our kitchen, but extend to long enough for large family gatherings and parties. We looked extensively through the internet and local suppliers to find something that was suitable, and not extremely expensive.

When we came across Country Life Furniture, we read a few reviews on TrustPilot that were not amazing, but found better reviews on Google Reviews and decided to take a punt.

We liked that we could personalise the table to our exact requirements, including the style of leg, width and length of table and match the colour to our recently installed kitchen units. On top of that, we could also decide to add drawers and white wash the top. We also decided to pay extra for a faster delivery.

We have been so pleased with the product which has been delivered quicker than the stated time. As stated, it came as the table top and 4 four legs, which needed to be assembled using 4 very easy bolts (I could do it by myself) and was delivered into our kitchen. The delivery company were not a large chain, but were pleasant enough and had good communication with us before delivery, giving us a short delivery window so we wouldn't be in all day.

Our only comment, is that the white wash effect seems different on the physical table as it does when you select the 'white wash' option and an image depicts what is should look like on the order form. After a few days we have got used to it and think it looks great, but it wasn't quite as it looked on the web. However, we didn't contact the company regarding this, as it wasn't an issue that detracted from the quality and feel of the table.

Since receiving the table we have had plenty of comments regarding how lovely the table looks and the quality of materials used. It is clearly described as reclaimed on the website, so there are marks that shows it is not a newly manufactured product, but for us, that adds to the charm and character.

I felt that the finish of the Florence Farmhouse table and chairs was not good enough. The table top was chipped on arrival and had to be returned for repair-not replacement. The underside of spindle chairs are very poorly finished - in need of filling and sanding. I did write to the company but received no response.

Oh my word - we LOVE our rustic dining room table! Absolutely stunning craftsmanship: the carpenter was truly passionate about his craft and this really shows in the product.
Great service from start to finish - we couldn’t be happier! All our guests comment and say how beautiful it is.

Do not buy from this place.
I bought a bench and a bench cushion for £750!
The bench has started to badly crack and is a safety hazard for my toddlers. The cushion is not washable. When i called up, 3 months ago to discuss this, i was told a) that the bench would be picked up within the next week or so and delivered back within 2-3 working days.
I was also informed that the cushion should be washable but the person who made it no longer works for the company. The man i talked to said he would get back to me. I have chased him several times in the last 3 months and he has never called me back. He says that he “still hasn’t spoken to the guy that owns the company”.
This kind of service is unacceptable at any cost.

re response: no one has EVER contacted me!!!!! i have only ever chased and chased and chased to be told by someone called Alex that he will arrange a date for my bench to be collected. That was 3 months ago. I am still chasing. How can you lie on this honest and public forum???

Florence Farmhouse table delivered after 10 weeks. Only given delivery details after repeatedly contacting company. Table very poor quality. Holes poorly filled with wood filler and generally not adequately finished. No resemblance to online photos. Probably cost just £50 to put this product together

We ordered our Florence table and eight chairs on 7 December with a lead time of 12 weeks. It was unfortunate however that the company were unable to deliver the furniture until after Easter (which was disappointing as we had a large group for Easter Sunday lunch and has to squeeze 10 people round a table designed for a maximum on 6). We were not kept updated with the situation and it was only after I had chased the order, that I was advised due to covid there was a delay. Quite understandable, but it would have been nice to be notified of the problem.

The table is lovely and we are delighted with it. It really fits in well and provides us with space we were looking for. The chairs however, are a completely different matter. They are so uncomfortable and the seat is very short. Even standard seat pads hang over the edge of the chair by a considerable amount.

I contacted the company to advise them of the problem we were experiencing with the chairs and enquired if there was any possibility of changing them, but were merely told they were standard chairs and swapping them out would be a “costly exercise”!

We have therefore decided to use the chairs from our old dining suite and will paint them to match the table, also having to source two further chairs to bring us up to 8! Indeed a costly exercise!!!!!

Overall my experience of Country Life Furniture has not been satisfactory. A shame, because the principal behind the company of using reclaimed wood is a very good one.
