Coventry University

Coventry University is the best choice I have made. I completed my MBA in Artificial Intelligence, and the teaching experience was excellent. The management, library, success coaches, and lecturers are top-notch. I feel great to be part of this university and have built strong relationships with friends and lecturers.

A cathedral of bullying, lies and mental destruction.

Zero stars if I could. Redundancy, redeployment, bullying, fabricated lies, ludicrous accusations, mental cruelty, illness, powerlessness, resignation, unemployment, suicidal. Worked in final post in Lanchester Library for 10 months - 7 of which off sick. Most pathologically toxic place I have ever worked in my 38 year career - by a long way. Do not work here if you value your mental health - it will quickly destroy you.

Once you enrol you are on your own!

Enrolling was a complete heartache. Don’t even bother trying to call Admissions, Engagement, or visiting the so-called Information Points — most are empty, and when someone is there, you're just redirected to another department.

I’ve felt completely unsupported and isolated. I'm surrounded by international students but haven’t found a sense of community, and the university hasn't helped with integration at all.

Worse still, the campus doesn't feel safe. I've witnessed drug use on site, which is deeply concerning.

I’ve decided to transfer to BCU instead. This entire experience has been a waste of time, money, and emotional energy. I wouldn’t recommend this university to anyone.

Awful selfish tutor & staff

Awful selfish tutor & staff, no care for students. They spelled my name wrong on an award! Useless service, all terms I was enrolled a month late & make everything difficult for me.

Shit uni

Shit uni. I have been harassed, mocked, gossiped and threatened by both staff and students over rumours of being lesbian and also because of my disability. The university did nothing about it; the police did nothing about it. This constant harassment eventually turned into people threatening to kill me and my family at the university hopsital. I do not recommend this place to white students and I especially do not recommend it to disabled or LGBT people.

The place is absolutely useless

The place is absolutely useless. There’s no focus on home students. I missed several intakes waiting on someone to check my certificates and in the end gave up completely. There’s many better universities around please check these first

I cannot recommend Coventry University

I cannot recommend Coventry University. As a final-year student, I faced serious personal and mental health challenges, including trauma, and submitted strong medical evidence to support an extension request. Despite this, my request was denied because I hadn’t formally “registered” with their disability team — even though I had informed support services and staff directly. This bureaucratic response shows a shocking lack of compassion. I am now escalating the issue to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator.

Where Are Our Results?

Coventry University has seriously let students down with the mess they’ve made of results day. We were originally told results would be released on the 10th of June, but due to ongoing IT issues, we’ve been left completely in the dark. It’s now the 13th, and we still don’t know when our results will be available they’re vaguely saying Friday the 13th, but even that’s uncertain with talk of potential delays.

Do they understand this is our future we’re talking about? The stress and anxiety this has caused is unbelievable. I’ve been sitting here like an egg, not knowing if I’ve passed or failed, and there’s absolutely nothing I can do. The lack of clear communication and accountability is beyond frustrating.

We deserve better. This level of disorganisation is unacceptable from a university that claims to support its students.

Decent teaching, bad IT and management.

The uni itself is pretty good, lecturers are nice, but it's brought down by the IT system which is literally shambles. They use the least user-friendly app ever for student work (Aula) with broken app, and your password will randomly not work at times. As well as this, if you get a new phone you aren't able to access the IT system at all until you go down to IT support to get an appointment to unlink your old phone and relink your new one. Quite awkward and not efficient. Please fix this in the future.

Admissions department is unaccessible

Admissions department is unaccessible. It took me over 4 hours of holding on a call to get through. After my query was addressed, I made a complaint to the head of admissions and the vice Chancellor via email, got an apology, asked for application details. It's been over 2 weeks and still no response!!!

Really poor admin.

Really poor. I can only speak for the Engineering/Computing Department, but it’s a massive administrative disaster. At the start of my first term, I was told to attend the student engagement centre for enrolment issues. After an hour in a queue, I was turned away as the entire centre was set up for RTS checks. I was sent to the faculty building for no advice, with my first classes already over. I tried emailing and calling, but was repeatedly ignored, hung up on, and dropped called. Eventually, I replied to a random email and was forced to contact the COURSE DIRECTOR. She went above her brief, and sent me to the Library, where I was turned away and sent to a building for an unrelated faculty. I queued for another hour and finally sorted my enrolment, but there were still IT issues.

During the actual course I was consistently given minimal information, timetables got changed last minute without warning and I was never sent a single email about any important information. My weeks were completely taken up by lessons that were spread as far as possible throughout the week. This left me with minimal time to work, essentially no time to study and definitely no time for a social life or any meaningful hobbies. They were extremely anal about attendance, however no-one mentioned this to me or told me about the 'touch points' so by my second term I'd officially attended 0 classes. I wasn't informed of exams at the end of my first term, obviously I missed them and had to resit. Unfortunately I was also not told when the resits were before chasing them up, all while studying for my actual term 2 exams and chasing staff members to find out what my coursework actually was (there was no information to say what the project was actually supposed to be). I will say some of the teachers were very good (Amanda Brooks, Jeffrey Ting) but this was completely outweighed by the terrible, rude, (and in one case seemingly illiterate) teachers (such as Katerina Stamou). My time at Coventry was ruined by poor admin and a lack of communication. Their insistence on using the worst apps known to mankind (such as Aula and Inspera) also didn't help. I constantly had to go out of my way to find out basic information and was never notified about important information. Not all of the problems were related to the faculty, however. The other students were also part of the problem. Mostly rude wannabes, they would talk over lecturers, answer calls in small classes and generally distract/detract from every class and lecture. You probably don’t want to come here, if I was you I’d put it as my last choice. You’ll fall out of love with whatever subject you want to study and get to live in a loud, dirty, cramped, dull city for the trouble.

This is a fake university just charging…

This is a fake university just charging fees.
They only need money.
I was studying at CU London Dagenham Campus and I couldn't submit my assignment. University did not give me a chance and withdrawal me from course. At the time of withdrawal they also sent me a message that pay remaining fees. Few days ago I received termination letter. Now I have to return back to my country.
So I am here to request all of you that do not trust Coventry University.

Go elsewhere

This university needs to remember that they are a business and that the student is the consumer. If you have the opportunity to study elsewhere, take it. I honestly wouldn't recommend Coventry University to anyone. They have little to no communication, do not value their students and just want your money.

International students beware…

International students are unexpectedly losing sponsorship. Disabling them from getting work experience in the UK. Masters students needing retake of any component of the degree lose their sponsorship and have to return home before any retakes can be processed and published. This is NOT part on the information used to attract students onto the degree course. If known, many would not apply to coventry university.

I’m so disappointed about the…

I’m so disappointed about the administration team at Coventry University. I got my conditional offer, but they forgot to send me the letter. Many emails and phone calls are sent to me after the deadline. They asking my academic reference which was sent to them, but they did not accept it because it was not sent from an official email, and no one informed me about the issue. So was sabotaged my application about the admission team. That the reason why is this university is ranked so bad. And that is giving themselves 5 stars, in the other case the university's reputation are going down.
