Really poor aftersales service

Really poor aftersales service. Initially had high hopes for this company, turn around time was very quick on a faulty airbag module. Sadly I still have errors on the unit that I can't clear with any diagnostic device or laptop. I approached the company for advice without blame or finger pointing. After calling, (I always think its better for this type of conversation to be at least over the phone if not in person),I was told to whatsapp. Which I did, it took 2 days to respond, and this was only after I prompted them. When I did get a response, it was defensive, offered no further insight and was dismissive and not helpful at all. Would not use again or recommend.

Excellent service from start to finish

Excellent service from start to finish, sent on the Monday before lunch, had an e-mail on the Tuesday sadly they couldn't fix my ECU but gave me options. They supplied a new one was programmed from the old unit to my vehicle ready to fit back in. On the Wednesday midday the module was returned fitted back in and back up and running within less than an hour. Easy job saved on garage fees, happy days.

Airbag ECU fault code



Used this service recently, Peugeot Boxer error Code B010040 for Airbag ECU. Sent yesterday, received it back today and back in my van. Quick and efficient service, I would definitely recommend them to others.

Excellent service from start to finish

Excellent service from start to finish. Sadly they couldn't fix my ECU but gave me options. They supplied a new one which fitted exactly how it should. Re connect the battery and happy days life is good again.

Kia airbag module fault

Kia airbag module fault. Car had not been crashed but air bag light on, code saying module replacement needed. Spoke to Crash data, sent module to them, they reworked it. Two day turn around from me posting it. Amazing service. Thank you very much*****.

The best in the business when it comes to Airbag Ecus

Jean, Hollie and the technician "C" went above and beyond to help me with an airbag ecu fault on an Alfa Romeo Mito! I can not rate them highly enough! We have used them numerous times now and had great service and success where other ecu companies have failed

Very fast turnaround

Very fast turnaround for the airbag issue on my motorhome.
Refitted it. Along with the peugeot/Fiat modification of an extra earthing strap from the ecu casing to the vehicle chassis.
As an additional piece of advice to owners.... If you let your vehicle battery drop too low it WILL corrupt the airbag ecu AGAIN.
Make sure you keep it charged up. DO NOT attempt to start the vehicle with a low battery.
Also it's a wise precaution to wait a few seconds after you turn the ignition on to allow the ecu's to fully boot up, and the high current drain glow plug heaters to finish their preheating cycle.
Would I use crash data again if I had the need to? Yes, Definitely.

I let my battery go flat in my Motor…

I let my battery go flat in my Motor Home after charging the battery, I noticed that the airbag light was on, my van was booked in for an MOT which it failed on the airbag light showing, they did a diagnostic check and found a fault code relating to the ECU being faulty, after watching a youtube video showing that someone else had this problem, within the video they sent the ECU off to Crash Data, this is what I did, I couldnt fault them on the turn around service which was exceptional, they even told me that the post office had delivered it late and I was able to get a refund, putting that to one side the ECU turned up and the instructions were to have a fully charged battery which I did, I fitted the ECU and the airbag light was out, great, I took it back to the garage it passed it MOT, went away in it for the Weekend did approx 50 miles and on the way the airbag light came back on, I contacted Crash data and was told my battery was showing only 10.2 V this is true as I had let the battery go flat, which is what brought the problem on with the ECU, the Battery was fully charged when I fitted the returned ECU. I contacted Crash data and was told there is no warranty or guarantee on the ECU, I was asked to take a battery reading and it showed 12.43 volts the lady I spoke to said the battery was only at 80%, after getting more information I saw this, [Your vehicle has a complicated electrical system that requires constant power so that all components work properly. Therefore, a charged battery should be 12.4 to 12.6 volts at rest. This is a sign of a healthy, fully charged battery.]
A bit disappointed with the outcome as I now have to spend more money on a replacement part.

Thanks for the great review, unfortunately the 1 star doesn't really tally up with the great service you described. The 1 star seems to be more reflective of your battery rather than our service, which you have stated several times in your review was great.

Also, thank you for demontrating what happens when you fail to listen to the advice given regarding your vehicle battery. There is a reason we take the time to extensively test your module, highlight the issues in the module, advise you and send reports to you. I don't feel it is reasonable to rate our service on your battery issues.

Very fast & efficient service

We had the dreaded ‘airbag fault’ warning on our Peugeot Boxer and a system diagnosis identified an ECU fault. Despatched the unit to Crash Data who confirmed it was beyond repair. They offered a coding service using the data downloaded from the old unit at a reasonable price if we wanted to source our own replacement which we did. The new unit was coded and returned within 2 working days, has been refitted to the vehicle and works just fine. We would recommend Crash Data highly. Thanks

Crash Test Dummies

Sent my ECU to Crash Data as needed a quick turn around. They returned it quickly with same fault. Sent back for re testing and they insisted the ECU was fine.
My local garage had already done a full health check on the camper so i knew that was fine. They send the ECU to ECU Testing who diagnosed the ECU as faulty straight away and repair. Customer service was aggressive and rude! "You made your choice and I'm glad you happy with your module" was the final response. Haha

I paid you on the 2nd and 24th of May, hardly months apart and definatley not free of charge! You seem to be a little confused or blatantly lieing!
As for all the insults, i did indeed call you a clown over whatts app after receiving your first class customer service which is regrettable on my part.

I would just like to take this opportunity to respond to this review as your report is not entirely honest now is it?
Your module was sent out to you fully tested WITH your before and after test reports to show you exactly what had been done to the module.
You got back to us several MONTHS later to tell us you had an airbag light on again, so clearly the module was working just fine! When the fault returned you returned the module and we tested it free of charge and then gave you some options to choose from.

You chose for us to take no further action and to return the module to you. We did this and you then sent your module to another company that charge double the price for the same job.

You then contacted us on Whatsapp to let us know this for some reason and to offer some insults, at which point I decided to no longer engage with you and left you the following message

"The reason it wasn't picked up is because the board wasn't defective. We identified your fault and asked you how you wanted to proceed. You made your choice and I'm glad you are happy with your module."

Followed by " Have a great weekend". You then sent me some more insults.

So once again, I'm glad you got yourself sorted and that you are happy with your choice. That choice being to send your module somewhere else to do the same job for double the price!

Excellent service

After speaking to a former work colleague about the airbag fault light on my Fiat Ducato motorhome I had the airbag ecu module fault tested and removed it.
As I was in Liverpool working last Tuesday , I dropped it off 2 minutes before they closed, it was fixed and shipped back to me within 24 hours and it arrived at my home Thursday afternoon, I refitted it to the motorhome and it’s no longer faulty.

SRS Module non-communicative on 2014…

SRS Module non-communicative on 2014 Honda CRV. Honda UK or local garage could not fix. Sent it away, turned it around in half a day and now working perfectly fine. Prevented the car being written off.

Absolutely great, Sent on Wednesday back Friday, reset with a “note” suggesting we look at the battery which on checking was 9 years old, so replaced it .
All warning lights have gone, i hope not to have to use you again but would recommend you to anyone does have similar problems, Great service

Horrendous customer service

Appalling service. They talk to you like trash. These people don't deserve to have a business. Who talks to customers like that?. No hello or nothing. And “they only do job properly apparently”? . Yeh right. Not with that disgusting attitude.

Did you even care to understand what I meant? No?

And now you write an entire essay explaining. I have many businesses and we will never speak to customers like that. It’s basic to first welcome any new customer and understand the situation properly in a kind and polite manner. Something which you obviously don’t understand. You didn’t even reply back to my final question.

Your horrible unwelcoming response says all about you and your business. I will definitely not trust someone like you with anything.

How did you know my concern wasn’t safety? I’m a lament when it comes to these things there for my terminology may not be accurate. Me telling you I want the lights removed from the dash means whatever it takes (remove properly). Why did you assume I wanted a cow boy job? That is rude in itself.

This is not the first review you have in relation to unprofessional customer service.

Hello, you contacted us on WhatsApp (out of hours on a Friday) wanting the dash light deleting, we responded (within 4 minutes) saying that would only remove the crash event and not delete the light. You responded “Ok I’m only interested in the lights being removed from the dash that’s all. Whether delete or remove“. We responded “We are not the people for you, we only carry out the job properly.” We don’t delete lights, or bypass circuits…..We only carry the job correctly so the system is in a safe and fully operational state. Am not sure how this can be seen as being rude or even construed as having a “disgusting attitude” I would say you just wanting the light deleted with no thought or regard of safety is more disgusting. Am sure there is someone or place out there who are willing to take this job on, but it’s still stands that we are not the people for that job. WE FILLED IN THE ONLINE FORM, THEY QUOTED 72.00. WE RECEIEVED A CALL AND TOLD THE PRICE IS NOW 180.00. DO NOT USE, WHEN ASKED TO RETURN THE UNIT AS WAS, THEY REMOVED THE CHIP. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. DO NOT USE!

Hello there, you filled in your online form and stated that you had an internal error in the module, which does cost £72 including VAT. You then sent us your module, but the module that you sent DID NOT have an internal error, the module you sent had no communication and needed to be rebuilt, which costs £180. The link for this service is on the actual page that you incorrectly used to book the job out in the first place, so you could have chosen to book it out and pay the correct amount from the out set, but you didn't.

We ran diagnostics on your module when it arrived here and found the module DID NOT communicate, but had been booked out for a much cheaper option (internal error reset) so at that point we contacted you to report our findings and to ASK you if you would like to go ahead with the actually repair required.

You were exceptionally rude and quite abusive to the member of staff that spoke to you to inform you of our findings and you screamed down the phone at her leaving her feeling a bit shaken, so at that point we have refunded you minus testing and returned the module to you.

Brilliant service

I have Used crash data on numerous occasions, every time my concerns have been sorted, from truck ECUs to car dash clock repairs. Every time they've sorted my issues.
Running a truck and car garage this Day and age with customers demands for the unbelievably complex electrical issues to be resolved almost instantly without them actually knowing how difficult they can be to solve, crash data really make things easier with a swift turnaround and expert service! Highly recommended.
