I tried the USD …
I tried the USD income fund and lost a noticeable amount of my investment during the transfer from my US account to the UK account. I would not recommend Cur8 for US investors. I don't understand the point of a USD fund if it isn't US-based.
I use only,CVE CAPITAL now. They are far more consistent with the rates and accessing my money is never an issue.

Contact methods are horrible, they never get back to queries and live chat responses are left unread with no response for months. I have had so many problems and trying to get in touch with anyone is next to impossible. My funds have been handled wrong multiple times despite my clear requests. Booking a call is always fully booked for weeks. Why is there not just a easy direct line to get customer service for your investors ? The idea of the platform is great which makes this such a shame that customer sevice is extremely poor and inspires no confidence or trust in them handling your money. The app has also become unusable and all the updates being made have made it more confusing than ever. Not sure who they are doing user testing with if any before these updates are being released?

Huge overhead
I tried the USD income fund and lost ~7% of my investment just in the transfer process from US account to UK account. i would not recommend anyone to invest from US in Cur8. What is the point of having a USD income fund if it is not domiciled in US. But good luck to the Cur8 team.

Thank you for sharing this feedback, we're sorry the transfer didn't go as expected. To clarify for anyone reading: no fees were charged by Cur8 or our bank. The shortfall came from the sending bank converting USD to GBP before the transfer, which then had to be converted back to USD on arrival - a round-trip FX cost we don't control. The USD Income Fund account accepts dollars directly, so instructing your bank to send in USD (not local currency) avoids this entirely. We're looking at options to make funding from the US simpler for future investors.

On instalments, many investors use a standing order to build up their balance over time, which achieves a similar effect - although we're looking at ways to make investing more flexible. A longer range view of upcoming deals is a fair ask too - this has been passed to our product team. Keep an eye on our updates for what's coming next!

The app has a really poor UX
The app has a really poor UX - it's very difficult to understand what is going on with my money. I've had one tranche of investment for some time and it's not clear whether it's been invested and is going up or down since it shows in the app as the same amount invested.

Unlike listed shares, private market investments aren't valued daily - your investment is deployed, but the app shows the original amount until a valuation update or distribution is recorded, which is why it can look like nothing is happening. Improving how deployment status and performance are shown is something the product team is working on now. If you email team@cur8.capital with your details, we'll confirm the status of your tranche and when the next update is due.

Thank you for raising this. Whilst we don't currently offer a beneficiary or next-of-kin option, this is something we're actively exploring as several investors have asked for it. In the meantime, your investments are covered by the standard probate process: if there's a Will in place, we honour its terms and work with the person holding legal authority to administer the estate.
