We Like the Furniture, Shocked by the Sloppy Service
We bought all DAMs furniture for our office. At first there were just minor problems: sending two right legs for a desk instead of a right and left, fastenings that needed to be shaved down with an Stanley knife to fit their intended socket, having to drill holes where their factory forgot to – all surmountable, but just really shameful quality control on their part.
More recently we bought a series of modular shelves, the key piece of which was a very large, very heavy media unit that holds a TV and a whiteboard. After assembling everything, it was clear they sent the wrong frame. Through our buyer, we sent photos of the frame we were supposed to get and explicitly reiterated the correct part number. Courier showed up a week later with the same exact wrong frame again, which we immediately sent back... again!
To add insult to injury, the included TV bracket and whiteboard are missing in action, never showing up in either delivery or on the shipping notes. Just non-existent.
In our business, if we get something wrong, we take it to heart and bend over backwards to make it right as quick as possible. With DAMS, it's as if they don't even have a person checking orders -- which is especially crazy on orders they've already gotten wrong once!
We like their furniture, but now have to weigh in future whether we like it enough to put up with this amount of aggravation.
