David Luke grew out of a small company that supplied childrenswear in the North West of England. A spark for inventiveness saw our founding partners David Burgess and Adrian Luke expand into the school uniform market where they have innovated some of the most iconic products our children now count as uniform essentials. Over the years, our business has demonstrated a progressive and highly respected reputation for innovation in sustainability. We were the first to develop recycled polyester yarn from plastic bottles which we used to make blazers. Making this switch has enabled us to prevent 34 million plastic bottles from going into landfill which we can verify through our SCS Accreditation and love to tell all our friends about. Our mission is not just to succeed in the school uniform market, we aim to lead it towards a more ethical future. One where materials are responsibly sourced, communities fairly treated and people care enough to make conscious decisions about how they purchase school uniform. We’re part of the Ethical Trading Initiative to make sure we do just that. Today we are one of the biggest school uniform brands in the UK. We are a champion of independent retail.

The return experience is poor
The return experience is poor. It took 7 days the return post was delivered back to seller's address. And even after it was received, the seller emailed me they still didn't get it. It is disappointed. To advice, in the case of return, please monitor the return post status, and keep the postal receipt from the post office as record.

Quick checkout and personalised experience
There was individual attention to available uniform items that we wanted. The associate in the shop was quick to give fitting guidelines. Overall it was a focused, quick checkout and personalised experience.

Great school uniform
My son is 15 and 6ft 9. I have trawled the internet trying to find him school trousers and sent so many back. David Luke are the only trousers who offered the right length and adjustable waist to fit. I’ve also bought school shirts- all of which have been very good quality and wash well. Great products and service.

Great trousers
Great trousers, excellent quality and detailing and the fit is very good. Trousers arrived very promptly, earlier than expected and in time for the new term. Would buy again.

Terrible quality
The school jumper/sweat shirt for Ryedale school is absolutely shocking quality. The bits coming off it have completely covered the white shirt and are proving almost impossible to remove. I don’t mind paying premium price for things if they are good quality. I should also add the previous one faded within a couple of washes too. Surely at the prices charged the quality should be at least as good as M&S if not better. Feel very frustrated that we are forced to buy such inferior quality clothes due to the school logo.

Fast dispatch and delivery. Excellent price (the school shop were charging 21 for the same trousers that I got for £12.50). The best trousers I have found for my tall, slim teenage girl.
