Why I chose Dentselfy over antalyas *top 10* clinics , A truly personal and safe experience
After a full year of intensive research, I chose Dentselfy over the top 10 corporate dental tourism clinics, and it was the best decision I could have made. Just because more people have been to the larger clinics it doesn't mean they are the best, to me those clinics felt like a conveyer belt of generic responses and completely lacking a personal touch. Dentselfy, as a smaller practice works incredibly hard to convey a genuine, personalised experience, which was important to me as this was my very 1st time travelling abroad.
I arrived on the 14th July with my 1st appointment being on the 15th, and from the second I walked in, I noticed how meticulously clean and organised the clinic was, with every staff member excelling in their specific roles. From my initial enquiry almost a year prior, my patient coordinator, Burak, was the only person across multiple clinics who took the time to address every single question I had completely and thoroughly as well as providing absolute transparency regarding costs, which was crucial as I have MGUS ( a proliferative blood cell disorder) and needed to be entirely sure of my medical safety. He also provided clear proof of Dr Vagurs 15 year implant experience, giving me complete piece of mind before I flew out.
Based on my initial CBCT scan, we originally planned for an all on 6. However having worn a top denture for 20 years, I knew the plan might change once evaluated in person. For health and stability reasons, my treatment plan was adapted to include sinus lifts, membranes, and bone grafts to support an All-on-8 on the top and All-on-6 on the bottom.
The surgical day was intense - a 5 hour session involving 12 extractions alongside the implant preparation. The entire teamwas awesome, doing their absolute best to speak English and keep me at ease. Dr Vagur has the calm, steady patience of a Saint. He checked in on me constantly throughout the long procedure to ensure I was completely comfortable and sufficiently numbed orally. Burak was right there by my side to bypass any language barriers and seamlessly coordinate my hotel and transfers ( free companion stay). Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for him.
Due to my MGUS,they carefully tailored my medication, including a course of low grade antibiotics for safety. All medications, painkillers and mouthwashes, ice packs , aftercare pack were fully included. Remarkably, I only needed the painkillers for 3 days post- surgery. The most discomfort I experienced was sore lips, which was simply down to a mixture of sun and dental exposure. My mouth is healing fantastically well, with no bleeding or bruising , due to their amazing advice and aftercare.
4 Days later I had a checkup and my temporary teeth fitted , I left the clinic with a full implant passport and complication insurance ,They even knock your flight fees of the price which you can pay in two installments. So all being well I am heading back in 3 months for my finals.
