My 5th purchase in the past year, which says it all really. Not cheap, but a wonderful and special treat. I bought 2 'extras' this time, as we'd invited my daughter to join us. The box for 2, plus the extras were plenty and she loved the meal as much as we did. Really special and tasty restaurant quality food. One small problem was the lower steamer tray collapsed 5 mins I to the first steaming. After a moment's panic we stapled a piece of folded card between the tear, then stabilised the whole thing by using 4 wooden clothes pegs to keep it in place on the metal saucepan. It worked!

Wonderful Dim Sum, restaurant quality if not better. Great fun to cook, simple, easy to follow instructions, great delivery and customer service. Excellent experience from start to finish! Will be ordering again :)

This is an absolutely wonderful company. The Dim Sum are divine and better than some restaurant quality dim sum I have had over the years. I have ordered a few times from Ding Dong Dim Sum and cannot fault anything about the company. From the excellent communication , the delivery in packaging that keeps the dim sum frozen/fresh until you receive them, the flavours and also the choice- I have never found anything that I could fault or criticise.

There are sublime dips that come with the dim sum and you d be surprised how much flavour they pack into the slaw ingredients. I tend to go for the dim sum favourites and there isn't a single weak dumpling/bun in the kits . I have steamers at home so I love the fact the company has also introduced the dim sum only ranges - their own steamers do exactly what they are meant to do and are robust enough that I have used them again - everything is well explained and convenient .
Each mouthful is a total joy ! They make me happy and coming home to the parcels makes even the bleakest of days better .

The food arrived as promised and packed beautifully.
The instructions were clear and simple. All the Dim Sums were great. Usually we go to Yauatcha for C hinese and Roka for Japanese but with this quality - one can enjoy a home experience anytime. Pity the menu is not bigger to include Venison puff or other baked delights.

Delicious food and lots of it, delivered in plenty of time. I will use again, and anyone thinking about trying ding dong dim sum should do so. Highly recommended.

I ordered the veggie patch for 2 with some of the char sui buns. Very impressed. Easy to cook and delicious. Will definitely be ordering again.

A delicious meal, followed by a TERRIBLE night!
My husband and I ordered the favourites box for a special meal, and enjoyed the experience after getting 3 kids in bed.
Then we both felt weird and drifted in and out of sleep, I totalled about 3 hours 😬. I felt buzzy and delerious and didn’t know what was wrong. In the morning my husband described his night and had felt exactly the same.
Our immediate thought was that the food must have had MSG in it as we had experienced this years ago after a Chinese takeaway. I was doubtful though as Ding Dong Dim Sum is marketed as a reputable company and has a price tag to match. However, a quick Google of the ingredients listed MSG in all the sauces!!!! Initially we thought it was just the sauces, but then realised it was listed as an E-number in every dim sum too :-0. I found this somewhat sneaky.
We had to drive 3 hours home from our holiday the following morning feeling thoroughly unrested and a bit annoyed.
If you suffer the effects of monosodium glutamate DO NOT buy this product. I will be warning my friends of this company.

Delicious and easy to prepare. I would like to refuse the steaming baskets as I already have bamboo ones, so they are a waste of resources - but can't find a means to do this in the ordering process. Any chance of adding a selection of 'no baskets' - before my next order?

So impressed. The food was fantastic and it was a really nice experience preparing it as a family. It will become a regular treat day order I think.

Absolutely delicious! Taste as good as what you get in China Town. Was easy to follow and really tasty, will definitely be ordering again.

Shocking customer service! I ordered a box for Valentine’s Day to be delivered on the Friday before. I placed the order two weeks in advance so they had plenty of time to arrange delivery. They contacted me on the Thursday (day before delivery) to say that because we had a highland postcode our delivery would not arrive until the Saturday. They asked us how confident we were that we could receive deliveries on a Saturday. We have parcels delivered on weekends all the time so didn’t think it would be a problem. The delivery didn’t arrive until Monday at 3:30pm by which point the food was spoilt. When I contacted them about the issue they offered a 20% refund and told us it was our fault for agreeing to a Saturday delivery. Perhaps if they had realised they should have dispatched our on the Wednesday instead of the Thursday we wouldn’t have had this issue.

I ordered the favourite box and two extra pork buns. For some reasons when paying I was not charged for the extra pork buns order, for which I was unaware as my order confirmation clearly stated that I had ordered the extra buns and I instead paid a delivery charge.

I have a toddler and all meals for two we order an extra side and split three ways. When the order arrived we did not receive the pork buns. Therefore we did not have enough food to feed the family. We spent over £40 and was left hungry.

I emailed the company to advise of the situation. Whilst I appreciate I did not pay for the pork buns, I was none the wiser to this, as I said I had instead paid a delivery charge and my order advised the extra buns was placed. The company was extremely rude when I engaged them and did not appreciate that whilst their system errored out, I was left with not enough food to feed my family, yet paid £40.

The company advised they could send me the buns on a different night (fours days later) if I paid for them and they would wave the delivery fee. This obviously didn’t help the fact my family was left hungry… getting two buns at full price four days later doesn’t really help here. I therefore refused this offer.

Consequently be careful using this company. If their system errors out. Your impact is not a problem or concern to them!!! I would not use this company again!!!

We've used them twice previously. We liked the product.
We made an order on the Monday for 4 person meal for delivery on Friday. We had planned for some friends to come over to share the meal.

Friday afternoon we got a general email from Ding Dong stating there's a delay and that we will get the order Sat morning. We had delayed our friends for the meal on Sat. Sat afternoon comes along and still no delivery or any communications from the courier or from Ding Dong.

I emailed again Sat afternoon and was told by Ding Dong that my delivery is out for priority delivery.

It never arrived. Nor did we get any communication from Ding Dong or the courier.

Eventually Sunday they attempted a delivery which I refused as by now the food had been around the houses for a few days.

I am now requesting a refund.

So. We liked the food and idea. Enough to invite friends over to enjoy. But if they say judge a business by how they react to difficult times then they are unreliable and very poor communicators.

I wouldn't use again if I needed to rely on a specific date.

Delivered on my chosen date & packaged very well. Preparation & cooking instructions were really easy to follow.
The food was really tasty & the dipping sauces were great.

Would highly recommend & I'll definitely be ordering again.

I emailed the company asking them what their background actually is because I’m sick of seeing western individuals white washing my culture like the mahjong girls or the congee Queen. Their website doesn’t talk about the founders at all. Yes they have a cute website and clever packaging but nothing on who they are as a company. No response. I’m disappointed to say the least.

Look, this is alright if you’re someone who just craves dumplings after being in lockdown for so long but as someone who grew up proud of Chinese food, frequently growing up having dim sum in both the UK and HK, this was terrible. This isn’t dim sum. This is dumplings. And the audacity to offer JAPANESE gyozas in their box sets. No one orders salad and rice at dim sum either.

Disappointed that this is just a frozen dumpling company that clearly caters an non authentic experience. You might as well visit your local Asian supermarket and buy the dumplings from the freezer section, it’ll work out cheaper.
