Disgusting attitudes from receptionists and administration! Furious isn’t the word. My family have been with these guys for 35 years not missed one payment and had many animals registered here. The amount of times we have been billed things that are incorrect, or been told I can’t pay as it’s not my account but my mums it’s very odd behaviour after contacting me for 2 weeks after telling me I don’t owe anything. Me and my mum told you when I’m back from Iceland we would be paying the 100 that you said I didn’t owe . But then I received 1000 letters emails calls texts to me and my mum about this and it continued after we said when I got back from Iceland I would pay, I was told why can’t I just pay when I’m over there. Bearing mind this is a messily 100 pounds they’re chasing me up after accidently charging me more for things and having to correct it about 10times! It’s disgusting how they speak to my mum and I finally snapped and told them how I felt and they didn’t like it. But the rules and regulations only apply for us and not for them they can talk to us anyway they wanting hearing in mind they know I have adhd and autism. No empathy involved at all. I called another vets to register my animals and yet again having issues with Donaldsons not getting things right they don’t know if they’re coming or going they needed me to answer a call from Donaldsons to confirm all three pets been transferred, when they called they refused to transfer all three pets stating they only requested for one, I called the others vets they double checked and no all 3 had been requested. I didn’t want to call Donaldsons back so my mum did and they spoke to her like shit they said we aren’t going to discuss it I’m not bothered il transfer now. Like whatttt is the need for this?

I was charged 150 pounds for ppe which I found to be outrageous my dog stayed 2 nights in isolation and that's what they charged me
Also the receptionists and administration people are constantly getting things wrong 6 times when I rang they kept saying I owed money which I didn't they also have no understanding of any one with adhd

We can’t thank Kate at Donaldson’s Vets, Mirfield, enough for the incredible care and compassion she has shown our cat, Otto, throughout his battle with FIP. From the very first diagnosis, Kate has been knowledgeable, patient, and supportive — guiding us through what felt like an impossible situation with kindness and professionalism.

She explained every step of Otto’s treatment clearly, kept us updated on his progress, and genuinely celebrated every milestone with us. Thanks to her dedication and expertise, Otto is now happy, healthy, and back to his playful self.

We’re beyond grateful to have Kate looking after him — she truly goes above and beyond for both pets and owners. Highly recommend her to anyone facing FIP or any complex feline condition.

Rang Donaldson's Shepley branch regarding Mrs Binx, our 10 years old mini lionhead rabbit, who suddenly started passing blood in her urine. Mike the receptionist kindly arranged an appointment for her to be seen within 30 mins. Sadly the outcome was not good, she had a tumour, and euthanasia was the kindest option. Vet Holly Burrell was lovely and very sympathetic throughout the process - thank you

We recently had the awful experience of a routine illness turning into a nightmare. Our beloved 8 year old labrador Ellie had diarrhea and sickness which is not uncommon. It went on for a number of days and didn't improve with normal treatment. Turned out it was aggresive cancer and lymphoma. The Donaldsons team were great. I want to single out Kathryn for quickly escalating treatment and Elspeth for her compassionate care of Ellie in her final hours. Your help and care helped us to get through the awful experience.

Went in person, with my dog in tow to register/book an appointment at the almondbury branch and left feeling belittled. Wont be using this vet after how the receptionist spoke to me. It just wouldn’t be worth dealing with her and would prefer to use elsewhere even if the prices were higher.

Repeatedly saying “you can’t just bring your dog in and expect a vet” despite explaining I just wanted to book.

The other lady we spoke with to cancel the appointment was lovely but the whole experience was just ruined. It sounds like this has been a problem before.

Just after xmas our puppy had a freak accident and was paralysed from his waist down and it felt like most people had given up on him until we got sent to Donaldson hospital and met Rhona, after a few days of intensive treatment accompanied by a lot of patience she got him walking, just a few steps initially and Rhona and the team continued the good work and gave us hope, after a few more weeks he managed a short walk and is now discharged and a very healthy10 month old, so no matter what problem you my have we would say go to Donaldson’s everyone we met were so caring and lovely with us too. Thank you all.

Absolutely fabulous vets . I’ve been percivering with our old vet 5 months asking for tests for our viszla he’s progressively got thinner . He had gut issues .
Emma immediately recognised that he’s unwell . Very thin
After being told to castrate him by our old vet to gets him to put weight on .
She ran blood tests and discovered a possible cause .
I’ve called in tonight with other samples 💩to get tested . The lovely receptionist said she would try and get it courier tonight . I can’t say enough about how diligent they are there . Thank you 🙏

Donaldson's vets have been caring for my two cocker spaniels for four years and they have been amazing. I cannot fault them in any way. Sadly both my girls have had to be put to sleep and again I have been so impressed with all the staff and the way in which the sad situations have been dealt with. We now have a new puppy and she too will be cared for by Donaldson's.

No matter how big or small a pet is, Donaldsons Vets showed such care and compassion for what was a very upsetting time - Thank you so much all of the Thongsbridge staff for your being so lovely 💕

We took our beloved cat here due to an emergency, she couldn’t be saved but the vet who dealt with us was compassionate, gave us as much time with her as we needed and really took the time with us as a family. Excellent care

My dog had collapsed so we rushed her to the 24 hour hospital. She was left to die in the back of the van in the car park as they were doing a 'vet change over' at the time so a vet wasn't available. We were left for such a long time and we felt so helpless. Surely they could have found a couple of minutes to come put her out of her misery. A very sad way for her to pass and very traumatic for us. Sent a complaint but they are now saying they had other emergencies that they were attending (this is not what we were told at the time) so it seems they are liars also.

We had to have our beloved elderly cat put to sleep this week . I can’t thank the vet enough she was reassuring sympathetic and made a heartbreaking decision easier . The staff are fanastic . Today we received a card and seeds to plant in our garden in his memory . What a lovely gesture .

Had our beloved dog euthanized last May ,she was very poorly,When it was done I wanted just a couple of private minutes to say goodbye but she was whisked away within two minutes,the vet was running late at the time,not much compassion at all.
He did however paw prints and fur for us,I asked if he was bringing her back so we could say our goodbyes he just said no.
We had her communally cremated ,at PCS Leyland through the Donaldsons vets which they use ,l later found out most of the communal ashes from there go to landfill ,I am devastated .

Donaldsons please inform your clients what happens to their beloved pets communal ashes ,it’s heartbreaking 💔

Not impressed so far. A phone call to ask if I could book our 10 month old dog into be neutered. "No book on the app" was the response, We did, we got there, told they won't do that anymore... that will be £48 consultation fee ..... less than 5mins in the surgery...

Having recently had our Guinea Pig ‘Eddy’ in for surgery to remove a large lump, and having just received a positive post op review, I can only offer praise to Donaldsons staff for all their care and help over the last few years, and particular mention to Matt for his caring and professional manner with our Guineas.

Always found Donaldsons very thorough, and they do have an emergency 24/7 hospital, its expensive no doubt , but they use a lot of non invasive diagnosis techniques, medication is expensive, but , they will give you a prescription if your pet needs regular medication and you can get it much cheaper at “pet drugs online”
