DriveSavers Data Recovery Is Rip off place

DriveSavers Data Recovery Is a Rip off place taking advantage of customers unfortunate circumstances loosing data. They quoted me $750 all the way to $4,000 to recover my data from a computer that i couldn’t turn on. What in a world are they thinking we’re fouls ?? I went to local Co who recovered my date for $500. I couldn’t be happier. Don’t settle for these Crooks

Drive savers is amazing!!!

I had a severely damaged raid drive dump for terabytes of information that was un accessible through Dell, my IT staff and a number of outside IT professionals. DriveSavers was able to pull the data 100% intact.
I would recommend them to anybody… Very professional and obviously a great outcome

Don't give your iphone if it is in…

Don't give your iphone if it is in recovery mode. In any case don't give it to Drivesaver. They are not informing what they are exactly doing on the iphone. They tried to recover data from the chip by unlocking the phone. So I couldn't login in my iCloud account. Dont believe any data recovery service without a brief explanation. They are using technical words. In my experience telling everyone not to believe Drivesaver. Their service is too frustrating.

True professionals

I have never faced situations when I required data recovery, however I have recently changed my PC, bout a new one and wanted to transfer all the data from my previous PC to a new one and acidentally some of the vital files for me were removed. I didn't know what to do, however I knew that there are some companies which could help me to recover this data. I found this company and applied to it. I described in details what has happenned and they told me that they could help me. They did everything pretty fast and all my missed files were recovered.

If I could give a Negative 5 Stars I…

If I could give a Negative 5 Stars I would.

This is a 2-part review. My experience and then my attempt to contact higherups and resolve the situation. I was so upset because of how they handled this that I left a negative review on Yelp. I then thought about it and could not believe this company would try and scam someone like I feel they did then ruin my HD. I was told the drive had been imaged (meaning it was recovered), but they had not open the HD or done anything else to it. I thought the right thing to do was approach the owner directly.

Part 2:
I have never left a negative review for any business. This time I must so no one else experiences what I did. I should have read all the 1 Star reviews before going to them. I had a perfectly good 6T drive with 10 years of files on it. I run a commercial photography studio and have a large computer tower that I have multiple large drives in. I was replacing my main SSD when I damaged the connector on the 6T drive. I called them and ran the drive over right away and was quoted between $900 and $3900. I explained that the files were intact and just the drive connector was damaged. I am very computer savvy, but I was not aware that the PCB board can easily be replaced by removing a few screws and replacing it (and I explained to them I had an identical drive and board bought from the same HD lot). I have my initial Yelp review below this 1.

I thought I would try and contact the owner JAY HAGAN on April 2, 2021 thru LinkedIn, but received no response. I then contacted GARY BLOUNT (Director of Global Sales) on April 5, 2021 and he referred me to LORRAINE DAVIS (Customer Care Manager) on April 12, 2021, who ignored my LinkedIn message.

Part 1:
Here is my original review:
I am NOT happy AT ALL. I thought I was going to get honest and professional service and I am fairly computer savvy. In retrospect I really think they were trying to pull a fast one. I damaged the SATA connector on a hard drive (while changing a different drive}. I called, explained the situation and clearly explained that the files were intact, I had just damaged the connector. This was on a Friday. They quoted me $900 to $3900, which seemed pretty steep, but I needed the files since my backup was not as current. I later found out that HO PCB boards can be replaced and inexpensively, which means it should have been easy to fix. A couple hours after I dropped it off Sam called me and asked what types of files was I trying to recover, again I explained that all the files should be intact. He said he wouldn't know until the techs looked at the drive and I OK'd moving forward. So Monday rolls past and I called and talked with Patty and explained again, along with the new info,I had on the PCB board replacement. She said she would expedite things and find out. No call back. I said I did not want to pay almost $4000 for a recovery of uncorrupted files. Then Tuesaday morning, still no info about the drive. I called and said I was not happy and wanted the drive back, I was then moved up to a supervisor who was very rude, asked me if I had a clean room and said this is like doing heart surgery. I asked what had been done. She finally said the drive was imaged (meaning it could be copied to a new drive). I asked if they opened the sealed drive and she said no. I said I wanted it back and picked it up today. I had a matching PCB board from an identical drive because I had bought them at the same time. The boards are identical! Now the drive is unrecognized and useless. I moved the board back and forth with the other drive so I know it ts working. My wife heard the call with the supervisor and she was stunned at how she talked down to me. Did I say I am NOT happy? Buyer Beware!!

Would not recommend for video recovery

Lost video files after inadvertently reformatting an external drive. Sent to drivesavers. They called me that they had recovered all the files and charged me almost $2,000, including $89 for a 1TB external drive. When i received the drive, more than half of my video files could not be opened. When I called them, they told me that those files were destroyed. Why didn't they check before mailing out the drive? Even the few files that were recovered were essentially random video clips from different video files, which I couldn't piece together. They agreed to refund $1,000 but then I essentially wasted $1,000. If they had told me of the random video clips rec and also that they couldn't recover most of the files, I would not have proceeded with the project. Also to charge $89 for a 1 TB hard drive is hard to fathom.

EXCELLENT SERVICE FOR DATA RECOVERY

I took a lot of photos on a trip I made abroad with my mom, in June-July 2016. I had issues downloading the photos on my media card, and exhausted all available methods photographers use. I was ready to give up and trash the CF media card. My mom was later diagnosed with terminal cancer, and I decided to pay to get the images recovered from that trip (where I took lots of photos of my mom). I was very satisfied with DriveSavers because I initially thought I had lost about 1,500 photos, but it was over 3,000. It was a lot of data to recover, and even though some photos were unrecoverable, I was very satisfied with the whole process. They even issued a mailing label so that all I had to do was take the CF card to a Fed Ex store and have them package the CF card. At the end, I received the corrupt CF card (which had to be "dissected"), and a thumb drive onto which they added all the JPEGS they were able to recover. I can't deny it was a bit expensive, but it was worth all the aggravation I would have had to go through asking "professional IT" friends and family, what to do to resolve my issue. I would do it again if I had to! They do have a policy that if they can't recover anything on whatever storing device you submit, they won't charge you! Where else would you get that sort of a deal?
