Professional and personable

The two things you want when someone is going to put implements in your ears. A highly professional process carried out by someone who is instantly relatable - and in Katie's case also very knowledgeable as well. Katie is all round excellent. I learnt far more about the state of my ears from her than I had in 5 years of going to the Alex for ear wax removal by an ENT consultant. I'm glad the Alex tried to rip me off last year with a double charge, otherwise I wouldn't have swapped to Earful Stockport. I'm so glad I did and this will be my go to place for the annual hoovering out of my ears!

Katie at Stockport Earful was…

Katie at Stockport Earful was marvellous! She cleared wax out of both ears and all sounds are now crisp and clear. She also did a free hearing test for me.

Stay away

Went to the Chorley branch and paid £59 for both ears.
Infection control was minimal. No hand washing was observed.
Around 10 minutes into the procedure, the staff member (they are not audiologists) told me that I had an ulcer in my left ear, that was red and bleeding. He told me that it was nothing to worry about.
After further 19 minutes, I had to ask him to stop due to pain and nausea.
I paid the full amount and booked an appointment the following week.
After a discussion with a medical professional, I was told that on observation of an ulcer the procedure should have been stopped.
I contacted customer services. He told me that the staff member has denied saying that I had an ulcer, and that my ear was red and bleeding.
So basically accusing me of lying.
Which I would never do.
I will be taking this further.
Do not touch this company with a barge pole.

We are sorry to hear that you feel disappointed following your appointment at our Chorley clinic, as patient care and comfort are extremely important to us.

A full clinical review of the appointment has been carried out with the clinician involved and we do not recognise a number of the claims made within this review. During the appointment, treatment was paused due to discomfort and a follow-up appointment was offered for the following week to allow the ear canal time to settle before any further treatment was considered. An alternative appointment with our in-house audiology team was also offered.

At the conclusion of the appointment, no formal concerns were raised to the clinician or clinic team and the follow-up appointment was accepted.

Whilst we appreciate that you may no longer wish to return to the Chorley clinic, we would still be more than happy to support you further. This could include arranging a review with one of our senior audiology team members, offering an appointment at an alternative Earful clinic location, or advising on the most appropriate next steps for your ongoing symptoms.

Patient safety remains our priority at all times and our clinicians are trained to adapt or discontinue treatment where clinically appropriate.

As this relates to a clinical matter, it would not be appropriate for us to discuss further details publicly, however our team remains available should you wish to contact us further.

Impressive care at Earful, Bolton

I have been extremely impressed by the care given by Ikram Aghrout at the Bolton branch. The hearing test was very comprehensive and the results explained very clearly with time given for me to ask questions. I appreciated that my particular needs together with lifestyle were taken into account when recommending if hearing aids would be of benefit. It was very useful to have some hearing aids for a trial period and this helped me to come to a conclusion about how to proceed. I did not feel under any pressure to make a purchase. Ikram Aghtout is a great credit to this company and is to be highly praised for her professionalism and friendly manner.

Ray was fab be very helpful a reassuring. We went to get an ear wax removal and hearing check. We didn’t need a wax removal which was helpful to know. He was very helpful we will be back to check on our hearing

Job Done! 😊

I attended the Allerton Road Clinic and had a great experience. The clinician, I think her name was Jen was friendly and professional. She explained the procedures fully (examination, wax removal and hearing test) and made sure I was comfortable before proceeding. I couldn’t hear anything out of my right ear when I went in and felt great coming out so I had my hearing restored. Thank you Earful for a great service at a great price.

Ray was amazing

Just came back for my annual ear‑wax removal and hearing assessment. This is the 2nd time I've used Earful in St Helens.

Ray took care of everything, was super friendly and explained what he was doing. He made sure I was comfy the whole time. Ray has done both of my appointments now, and would 100% recommend both him and Earful.

Earful St Helens

Ray at the St Helens branch successfully cleared my ears using micro-suction. I have attended this clinic twice now and have received A1 service on both occasions.

Not great and over price

I went to Earful Stockport on the 6 of December at 4 o'clock and i wasn't very happy for the following reasons
*the man he serve me wasn't very friendly (i think his name is Joe)
*all the process take only 5 minutes
*the man didn't tell me if was wax or not and i had to ask him and he said yes
*this service is over price (£59)
*i didn't fell any improvement , i can fell stail wax inside

Firstly, I apologise if our clinician came across as unfriendly. This is not the level of professionalism or patient care we expect at Earful, and I will be addressing this with the team member involved.

Regarding the appointment length, microsuction can sometimes be completed in a short time, particularly if there is minimal wax present. However, our clinicians should always clearly explain their findings and what has been carried out. I am sorry that this was not communicated clearly and that you had to ask whether wax was present.

Our £59 fee reflects a full clinical appointment, including ear health assessment, specialist equipment, clinician expertise, infection control, and aftercare. We also offer a free follow up appointment if symptoms persist or if any residual wax is suspected, to ensure patients are fully satisfied with the outcome. In addition, we operate a price beat guarantee, and we are always happy to beat like for like services where applicable.

It is disappointing to hear that you did not feel any improvement following your appointment. If you still feel there may be residual wax, we would very much like the opportunity to reassess your ears and resolve this for you at no additional cost.

St. Helens branch 10/10 5 stars

Attended the St. Helens clinic on Friday 12th December 2025. Was seen by Ray. Absolutely brilliant experience. Ray was thorough, explained everything, and completely cleared my ears. Gave me some aftercare tips and a quick hearing screen too. Easy place to find with parking available outside. Can 100% recommend and will definitely go back for follow up care. Thank you.

I had wax build up removed in both ears by suction rather than syringe due to an ear perforation .Jen performed the procedure in Allerton Liverpool branch She talked me through every stage of the process calmly and ensured that I was happy about each step to be taken.
The procedure took about 5 minutes each ear and she showed me video pictures of the eardrums after .
I also had a free mini hearing test which was very reassuring.
I shall certainly return next year and would advise anyone thinking of booking an earwax removal to go with this company.

EAR WAX REMOVAL

EAR WAX REMOVAL.
I made an appointment with Earful in St.Catherines Health Centre, Wirral on 24th October 2025 to have ear wax removed prior to my ENT appointment at my local hospital on 3rd November.
I attended the hospital and the consultant said she would like to check my ears for wax. I explained about earful and was surprised when the consultant said I had wax in both ears and proceeded to remove it.
I was really disappointed to find after paying £59-00 at Earful 9 days previously, the consultant had to perform the procedure again.
I complained to Earful who contacted me and stated a small amount of wax is always left, this was not stated at the appointment. They also stated that at Earful I was shown on a tablet my eardrums, this did happen but I am not medically trained, so could not see if wax was left.
I did expect to be offered a partial refund (this did not happen)I am a pensioner and this was a lot of money and would not recommend or use this company again .

At Earful, our clinicians always ensure that both ear canals are safely and effectively cleared of any obstructive wax. After every procedure, we show patients clear images of their ear canals so they can see that the eardrums are visible and the wax has been successfully removed. A very small amount of wax is intentionally left behind, as this is both natural and healthy — it helps protect the ear from dust, bacteria, and infection.
We understand it can be frustrating to receive different feedback at a later appointment, and we’re sorry this led to confusion. Your comments have been shared with our team as we continually review how we communicate this to patients.

Visited Ray at St Helens

Visited Ray at St Helens. Having to have ears shyringed when I was young left me with issues. My ears had been blocked totally for a good few weeks. Ray was very understanding, put my mind at ease and was just brilliant. Explained everything and kept pausing to make sure I was ok. Brilliant service what a lovely man.
