I have a ebco adventure 5 and although I’d like the look of the bike, it has plenty of torque to get up the steep hills in my area, it has good distance capability along with being confutable to ride, there has been a couple of changes I have made to get it right for me.
I find that the gearing is all wrong for this bike type. I’ve changed the rear cassette to give a more useable range and changed the front gear from 32 teeth to 44 teeth to give a more useable and pleasant to use gearing system.
ebco, I suggest reviewing the gearing, add lights, offer add ons like a rear rack and you’ll have a good bike.

I bought the Adventure 5R just over a week ago to complement my Fiido C11, which I recently used to complete a 285-mile cycle tour of the Outer Hebrides.

The downsides:
The gearing is very under-set for road riding. Unless you’re travelling at under 10mph, you’ll only really use gears 7, 8 or 9, which feels limiting. Gear changes are also on the noisy, clunky side. The display is quite basic, showing only speed, PAS level, and battery charge, and the rear wheel speed sensor looks like a cheap magnetic unit rather than something more discreet. I’ve also found that PAS levels 1–4 don’t differ much in power output, with a noticeable jump only when you hit level 5.

The positives:
The bike itself looks great, feels well built, and inspires confidence on the road and tracks. The wide tyres strike a nice balance—grippy without being excessive—while the brakes are strong and the saddle comfortable. On my longest ride so far (around 9 miles), the battery still showed full charge, which suggests decent range, though I’ll know more once I start covering my usual 30+ miles per day.

Overall:
This isn’t a road racer, but it’s well-suited to hilly gravel routes, tow paths, and mixed terrain. It keeps pace with my partner’s C11, but I do have to pedal much faster to match speed. If you’re looking for a comfortable, sturdy e-bike for leisure and mixed-surface riding, the 5R is a solid option—just don’t expect it to shine on the tarmac.

Just got the 5R adventure. Huge rear cog 9 gears range for hill climb but bike is under geared as front chainwheel so small, so on the flat under my own pedalling power i can push it to 20 mph. It will Free wheel down hill at 25 mph. On a normal bike and gearing i can pedal easily at 25 mph . Heavy bike but large 2.2 inch tyres give you braking confidence. A reasonable cyclist need only use motor assist level 1 or 2 uphill and not found use for top 5 rear cogs yet.

Absolutely appallingly built bike and quality. Purchased the Urban bike as a commuter bike and within two months its broken with the company saying its not covered under warranty. The metal is cheap, the paint is super thin, the build quality is very very poor. Would 100% recommend you avoid this brand and their bikes.

I purchased an ebco folding bike in 2018 for the modic price of £900, which was bearly used.
In 2020 I went to the ebco retailer in London North circular and asked to replace the battery and pedal bracket and categorically refused any sort of assistance.
I have contacted the main producer and also confirmed that they have stopped producing this bike.
In few words I have a new but useless bike in my garage.
I wouldn't recommend them if you expect some after sales customer service.

Superb customer service. I thoroughly recommend buying direct from Ebco as Richard in after sales is absolutely brilliant. The Street2 is without doubt the BEST bike I have ever ridden. It’s a great little e-bike, comfortable to ride both with and without battery assistance and worth every single penny..it’s an absolute joy to ride.My biggest mistake was to purchase via Halfords whose customer care are truly shocking (and is a whole other story) but do a massive disservice to Ebco, hence my advice to buy direct from them. I doubt you’ll regret it.
