Plumber to Avoid

Plumber to Avoid: Elite Rooter Plumbers

Do not every hire this company!!! Ever! Seriously hire any other company. Please read below before you think about calling them for assistance

I had a sink clog so it wasn't draining at all. The guy came within 1-2 hours of calling.

First thing he did was try to sell me a $1200 pipe cleaning. I said, I don't need pipe cleaning, I just need the clog resolved. I then agreed to pay ~$250 to clear the clog. He worked for 15-20 minutes and said he was unable to remove clog with snake and he needed to use the water spray to resolve the clog. This was the $1200 service.

I had already been dealing with the clog all day and just wanted it done so I agreed. He worked for maybe another 45 minutes and declared the clog was resolved. Then he demanded a 5-star google rating. I said well I guess you fixed it so sure.

He did not put the drain back together and left. I was happy to have the sink to use for preparing dinner. I put the drain back together.

It was just as clogged as when the guy got there. I called him. He returned and said he didn't know how to resolve clog but his boss would contact me on Monday. This was a Saturday afternonn/evening.

I was not happy about not having a kitchen sink for rest of weekend but we dealt with it.

I waited until 1pm on Monday to be contacted by his boss. I was not given his number. When I had not been contacted, I called and requested a refund.

Obviously, I'm not paying for not having a sink for another 2 days, let alone $1200. I found that price absurd and you should too!!

For all I know the guy did nothing since the drain was still clogged.

I hired another company (Mile High Drain) who sent out two guys and resolved the issue within 45 minute. The put the drain back together and we have had no problem since. I paid them $175 plus a $30 tip for each guy.

I assumed that the Elite Rooters had refunded me. 6 weeks later I was going through credit card charges and realized that that charge had not been reversed. I assumed it had been a mistake and called to remind them to refund me. I waited another week, still no refund.

I have called at least 6 times, trying to be nice, to request the refund. They currently claim that their customer service cannot refund the charge and that a "manager" has the power to do it. They state they have told the manager to contact me and so far he has not. On my account they say the refund was denied because "the work was completed".

I have told them I just want a refund. I don't want to hurt their business but I cannot in good conscience not make this public, whether I ever get refund or not.

This is the worst customer service experience I can recall.

Please, please please there are many great plumbing business in the greater Denver area who you can hire who will treat you great. This business is not one of them.

I had the worst experience with this…

I had the worst experience with this company. I called them for an emergency — a clogged kitchen sink at a rental property. The technician showed up, said he tried to unclog it but couldn’t, and told me I needed to replace a metal pipe connected to the sink. The quote? $4,200.

At first, I didn’t question it — I was stressed, my tenants were upset, and it seemed urgent. But the price felt way too high, so I called Bill Howe Plumbing for a second opinion. They came out, cleared the clog quickly and professionally — for $180. No pipe replacement needed.

Meanwhile, the tech from Elite Rooter kept calling me, pressuring me to approve the work, reminding me that “my tenants were mad” and this “had to be done ASAP.” Looking back, it all feels incredibly shady. This wasn’t a simple upcharge — this was almost $4,000 in unnecessary work.

this level of dishonesty needs to be called out. If I can help even one person avoid this kind of stress, it’s worth it. Be very cautious if you’re considering Elite Rooter.

Scammed-Incredibly unprofessional. DO NOT USE THEM

On November 2nd, Elite Rooter came to my house following a backup in my kitchen sink.

In the initial estimate provided, it was indicated that a secondary sewer inspection and a hydro-jetting procedure were necessary. However, it appears that the hydro-jetting was either executed improperly or not performed at all. The technicians accessed the system through the sink instead of utilizing the clean-out located outside of the residence. This approach was ineffective, particularly due to the nature of hydro-jets, which can reverse the flow of debris.

Furthermore, the technicians asserted that a clean-out did not exist, which necessitated their method of access through the sink. However, I subsequently discovered the presence of a clean-out after engaging another plumbing professional to rectify the issues.

In the second estimate, it was stated that cutting a hole in the ceiling, replacing a pipe, and conducting a secondary camera inspection were required. The technicians proceeded to cut holes in my ceiling, wall, and beneath the sink without obtaining prior permission for the additional damage to the wall and sink area. Moreover, there was no need to cut into the ceiling or wall, as they were able to access the pipe under the sink.

Additionally, no secondary camera inspection was performed. The hole created in the wall was utilized to extract a six-inch segment of pipe, a process for which I did not grant permission. This segment was presented to illustrate the purported poor condition of my pipe. Following this presentation, I was advised that my pipe required "re-lining" and was encouraged to research this process on YouTube. An initial quote of $15,000 was provided for this service. Upon expressing my desire to obtain a second opinion, the price was reduced to $10,000, which I found suspect, as such significant fluctuations in pricing raise concerns of potential price gouging.

I experienced pressure to reach an immediate decision but ultimately informed the technicians that I would follow up with them later. I requested to retain the extracted piece of pipe, which I subsequently cleaned out myself. To my surprise, there was no damage to the pipe; it appeared to require only cleaning. Moreover, upon inspecting the area above the cut pipe, I found it to be entirely clear, suggesting that at least some partial clearance had been achieved—indicating no damage to that section of the pipe either.

I then consulted another plumbing professional who promptly located the clean-out that had previously been claimed to be nonexistent. This technician performed a hydro-jetting procedure that lasted approximately 90 minutes, including a brief trip to a hardware store for a new plug, successfully resolving the issue at a cost less than one-quarter of what Elite Rooter charged.

Another plumber assessed the area where a leak had purportedly occurred and observed no signs of water damage, leading me to question the existence of any leak whatsoever. The only camera inspection I had received was presented at the outset, showcasing the exterior of the pipe before any modifications to my wall were made. I recall this distinctly, as the image was peculiar and depicted what appeared to be a vent that does not exist in my residence.

Consequently, I have paid Elite Rooter ALMOST 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS for a partial hydro-jetting service, the replacement of a segment of pipe under my sink, and the cutting of two wholly unnecessary openings in my ceiling and wall, which now requires remediation by another service provider.

While I understand that your team operates on a commission basis, extensive research and consultations with two additional plumbing experts have led me to believe that I have been taken advantage of due to my gender. I experienced undue pressure to authorize actions that were not warranted, and my children were utilized as a means to instill fear regarding the potential consequences of inaction. Furthermore, the work that was initially promised was not completed.

Elite Rooter and JR, SCAM artist

We hired this company to replace a septic tank and paid $1500 to start the job. JR from Elite came back the following day to tell us his company was too busy to begin the job but had a good friend who could start the job right away as we needed this done to close escrow. ALLAMERICAN was the company, and Felix was his friend. I have attempted to get my $1500 several times to no avail. ALLAMERICAN has turned out to be a horrific nightmare.

Ripped off

They don’t live up to their philosophy of “fair pricing.” They charged me $1250 (this is after the military discount) to replace a shower cartridge which should have cost $400 (which is on the high side). The same technician did me a “favor” and charged me $600 cash under the table to replace a shower cartridge in another bathroom. The issue is still not resolved. DO NOT SETTLE FOR ELITE ROOTER. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Ripped off

We contacted Elite Rooter because sewage was coming up through our shower drain. They found that we had old cast iron pipes that were corroded and needed to be replaced.

Elite recommended a pipe burst to do the job, and quoted me $18,000. They offered financing upfront through Synchrony. I got another quote for the same job with another company for $20,000. Feeling confident, I decided to go with Elite.

It was a HUGE mistake.

Initially, they did what they said they would do. They took out the toilet and tile, and dug under the house to do the pipe burst.

However, the pipe burst was not successful. They demolished part of my shower wall so they could put the pipe through. Still, it didn't work.

Finally, they told me they would be installing a liner instead. They refilled the hole they dug under my house and patched it with concrete, and left me with a gaping 12"x12" hole in my shower and the wall behind my toilet.

It just got worse from there. Insurance refused to pay for any of this, so I ended up needing to pay off the $18,000 out of pocket. Naturally, I wanted to see a detailed invoice of the work that was done in my house, because the only one they provided me was a vague estimate of the original work they had scoped to do the pipe burst.

I also now didn't just need to replace my floor; I needed to replace the tile in my ENTIRE SHOWER which cost a fortune.

They also damaged my walls in the pipe burst attempt.

But worst of all, a month later the toilet stopped working properly. It takes multiple attempts to flush anything down, even just toilet paper. I am wondering if the pipes were fixed after all or if the liner was actually installed.

However, once Elite Rooter “finished” the job, I could not get a hold of them again. I have reached out no less than FOUR TIMES on the phone and via email asking for photos of the liner, a copy of my warranty, and help with the hole in my shower and other repairs to my property. Nothing. Each time I call I get told to send an email to management, but no one ever responds. I guess they don’t care since they already got their money.

In short, don’t go with Elite. Or if you do, make sure you don’t pay the full amount until you’re satisfied with the work they’ve done.
