Disappointed

I agree with all the other negative reviews, over priced for what it was, disappointing, hardly any Elvis more about his friend Sam, just dreadful, second half better than the first half but nothing like advertised, just very let down.

Negative comments

We have been to the Elvis evolution today, and I would just like to say, I am so pleased I didn't listen to all of the negative reviews, if I had I would have missed a good show. I have loved Elvis since I was 9 years old and I thought the show was a tribute to Elvis. It certainly was not a disgrace like some of the reviews have said. The actors were amazing and worked really hard to bring the story of Sam Bells friendship with Elvis to life. The information was very accurate as I have read many biographies and watched documentaries about Elvis life. It was a unique way of telling the story and well done to the actors who brought the story to life I found it quite emotional at times. The music was great and the band were good. My daughter bought me this ticket for my birthday and I loved every minute of it. No where did I read there would be holographics on the information I read. What did you all expect Elvis to actually walk in some people are just hard to please

This is an absolute insult to Elvis and his Music ,nothing to do with Elvis should be called Elvis through the eyes of Sam Bell two 20 minute breaks getting you buy drinks it showed a video of a piece of 68 comeback special you get more enjoyment from YouTube it's nasty very nasty 😡 and if I could I would give it zero stars and as for someone saying it's because they showed Elvis and his black roots that's why we did not like😡 absolute not it was a disgrace from start to finish 😡

Please take note….

The hype round this show, for the last 18+ months, has been the creation of a hologram of Elvis using cutting edge technology.

This has certainly not been delivered. It is a cheap re-hash of the ‘68 comeback special.

Any reputable company would, when they realised they could not deliver what was promised, would have cancelled the show.

Not this bunch off scammers! They decided to treat the fans like fools and carry on.

Don’t waste your money on this show.

The positive reviews are on here because, in breach of TripAdvisors terms and conditions, they have ‘bribed’ people with a chance of winning a holiday.

You’ve been warned.

I really enjoyed the evening

I really enjoyed the evening, I thought it was a very important message and it was great value for money.
I took so much away from it and I was really appreciative of the whole production. I thought it was really insightful and really fun.
The musicians and actors were great, I paid £60 and I can honestly say that was fantastic value for money, you can compare it to go into a football match and it was much cheaper than that.
Ok there wasn’t a hologram but it’s not a perfect world is it, get over yourself.
I couldn’t believe how negative some of the people round me were, I felt a bad atmosphere with … quite frankly racist undertones. I feel ashamed to say this but it was clear to me.
So be open minded, celebrate collaboration and harmony of all races, ignore the sour puss faces and go for it !!!

I thought this was great and really…

I thought this was great and really good value for money. We went with an open mind, which I suggest everyone does, and found it to be very educational in many ways. I’m not quite sure what the people who were disappointed expected. It appears to me those disappointed were a lot of old women upset that Elvis didn’t come on stage and have sex with them. I think a lot of people were also uncomfortable that the influence of black culture on Elvis was emphasised. This is what made him so great and I particularly enjoyed that part of the experience, but I think there are others that didn’t. Thank you to the cast you were fantastic, keep up the good work and ignore the negativity of a certain section of society.

Totally agree with all negative reviews. Only put reviews if really good or really bad. Feel liked I’ve been robbed. At the very most this is not worth a penny more than £20.
Drinks & food very expensive as well.
Everything they show you will have seen on the TV clips already.
Please please do not waste your money.

Definitely one to miss!

I honestly don't know where to start with this review. Having read the very mixed but predominantly bad reviews, I tried to simply block out the feedback, and hoped to enjoy the experience for what it was. How very naive!

The concept was poorly presented, the theatrical props were extremely amateurish and while the actors did their best with intermittent microphone/sound issues, they struggled to disguise their own indifference to the whole experience.

The 'after party' fiasco took the experience to a whole new level of disappointment. Albeit the bar was adequately staffed, it was astonishingly difficult to order food and drinks. Once the food arrived, I honestly wished that I hadn't bothered as the food was flavourless and stodgy.

And all of this was on a VIP ticket! There absolutely needs to be a more realistic overview of what this 'experience' actually delivers. From wandering through dimly lit rooms full of so called 'props' to the after party entertainment, this imersive experience was a very long way from impressive.

This was the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. Not sure what the production team are trying to do here, but Elvis deserves better. Don't waste your money see if you can get your money back before you have wasted it.

I'd read the reviews so was expecting…

I'd read the reviews so was expecting something truly dreadful but honestly I had a great time. I really don't understand the terrible reviews at all.
I went with my daughters, we purchased tickets back in January, think we ended up paying around £60 each and I feel I definitely had my moneys worth. We were welcomed as we arrived, Bobs diner
was good, staff really nice and friendly, decent food and drinks to start off the
experience. I read someone complaining about cloakroom charges! Really? Most places charge for this don't they and it was £5 for all 3 bags, hardly daylight robbery!
The story of Sam Bell and Elvis was interesting, the 68 comeback special part I really enjoyed and it looked like everyone around me was too! The actors really do put their hearts and souls into this. The after party was great,a DJ and a good band playing and a good bar, not dreadfully expensive either, we would loved to have stayed there another couple of hours but had to get the train home. Elvis music from start to finish, for an Elvis fan what's not to like.
I have to say I probably wouldn't be so happy if I'd purchased VIP tickets, from what we saw that really wasn't worth it at all, you went in first but honestly that made no difference really and you get a "free" drink or 2 and a glass I believe for £300. I bought a glass, it was £20 it's actually really nice and good quality, we had a couple of drinks each too and some food and including tickets we spent less than £300 between us!
We had a great day, go with an open mind, if you go thinking you'll hate you likely will. Hopefully enjoy it for what it is, a celebration of Elvis. If you love Elvis you will love this.

Disgraceful

A total waste of time and money. Everyone involved from the production team the hopeless actors, the supplementary staff standing around should be ashamed of themselves for being involved in such rubbish. My expectations were low having read the reviews but it was even worse than I anticipated. Save you money - give it a swerve!

Shameful scam at 380£

Highly disgusted by this company and its pitiful show. Nothing to do with the 1st publicity done on September 2024. You said we will see him on hologram based on AI, and a life-size digital Elvis based on thousands of personal pictures. Instead, we had a basic show about an unknown sam bell !!!! Just shameless Thieves... shame on you !!!😡😡😡😡

Wooden Heart! This 'show' is absolute rubbish

This 'show' is absolute rubbish! I have seen better productions at school plays, it is vwery amateur with wooden actors with dodgy American accents. Little sign of Elvis until the last act and then it's only a film of the 68 comeback concert with 3 actors miming in front of it. It should be cancelled immediately before any more people spend a fortune.

Joyous

I went with friends to see this at the end of August. It was my first time at an immersive event and being an Elvis fan, this was the perfect choice.

The performances are full of heart. The staging and atmospheric features are fun and the interval in a Tiki bar was such a thoughtful touch.

I can't recommend it enough if you're looking for a unique experience celebrating Elvis.

Shambolic

If I could give this zero stars, I would, but I feel bad for the actors and staff. None of the negativity associated with this show is their fault; it all lies with Layered Reality. The show did not feel immersive or cutting-edge as the company describes. The script the actors have been given was truly awful. I appreciate that it is supposed to be about Elvis‘s early years, told from the point of view of Sam Bell, but there is a completely bare minimum of Elvis content. The actors were trying incredibly hard, so much so that it came over as the kind of overacting you would see in a Disney theme park. The limited number of actors and poor production efforts felt like headless chickens in the school play. With regards to the definition of cutting edge, I think mine must be different to Layered Reality’s, as I don’t call shaky seats on a replica train and dry ice particularly special, especially considering dry ice was used in school discos in the late 90s. The Blue Hawaii bar was basically overpriced drinks and a very bad quality cardboard cutout of Elvis that you could get a selfie with. The 68 special concert, which had been massively hyped up for a year, was a big letdown. I appreciate that the hologram company going into administration is not their fault, but Layered Reality is continuing to lie about it. The effort they have put into the concert is dire; it’s the original footage (supposedly improved quality) on three separate screens with three live musicians sitting in front. The sound quality was bad, and it was incredibly hard to distinguish what sound was from the actual band and what was from the original footage. As with the actors, I’ve felt very sad for the musicians, as they were obviously trying hard. Again, the Disney resemblance came out when the four actors were dancing in the aisles to try to gee up the audience. Once this shambles was over, I couldn’t be bothered to stay for the after party with more overpriced drinks and continuing the con to take more money from paying customers who already wasted a lot. It’s a shame, as even with the loss of the promised hologram, more of an effort could still have been made. With the price of the tickets they were charging, they could easily afford a good quality tribute artist, and this would’ve been far more enjoyable than the disaster that they went ahead with.

Incredibly Disappointing

When tickets first went on sale, fans were promised an “AI Elvis” experience comparable to ABBA Voyage — an immersive, state-of-the-art show where audiences could feel as though Elvis was truly performing live. What we actually received was the complete opposite: cardboard cut-outs placed in front of shower curtains, basic video clips, and recycled storytelling that brought nothing new or personal to the Elvis legacy.

The production itself was poorly executed from start to finish:

NBC Studio Scene: Fans were rushed through with no chance to view props properly.
Train Scene: An unnecessarily long segment of benches facing a screen, where many audience members were visibly bored and clock-watching.
Bar Scene: Cardboard cut-outs of Elvis and a chaotic 20-minute break that left fans frustrated, not entertained.
Final Act (68 Comeback Special): While Elvis footage is always powerful, this was not the promised “AI experience.” Fans were led to believe they’d see something groundbreaking and immersive — instead, it was simply old clips repackaged.

The only redeeming factor was the dedication of the actors, who gave excellent performances but were wasted in a production of this poor standard.

What makes this so distressing is that fans spent hundreds of pounds in good faith, with some tickets costing as much as £300. My mother was fortunate enough to secure a refund, but many — particularly older Elvis fans — may not know how to navigate the refund process. This feels like exploitation of a loyal fanbase, with Elvis’s name being used as a money-making tool rather than to honour his legacy.

The disappointment is widespread. A growing Facebook group of dissatisfied customers already has hundreds of members, while TripAdvisor reviews overwhelmingly reflect the same anger and frustration. This is not an isolated complaint — it is a pattern of mis-selling that needs urgent investigation.

It is also alarming to hear that the company intends to take Elvis Evolution overseas. Fans across the world deserve to be warned before spending money on what is essentially a glorified projection show with none of the promised innovation.

Elvis Presley’s legacy deserves better. His fans deserve honesty and respect. This production should be shut down before more people are misled.

Elvis DISOLOUTION I would leave NO STARS if I could.

I would leave NO STARS if I could. Not even worth a £ 1- let alone the £150 l spent on 2 tickets!! This is one of the first times I have ever felt conned out of money to see what could have been put on at the local community centre or village hall! Amateur production which did not deliver what was promised. There was no Al! No hologram! Just played videos of Elvis which I could have watched myself on YouTube at home. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! It is truly tragic, needs shutting down and people refunded!!

Would have been zero stars

Would have been zero stars. Miss sold from day one with relation to holograms that are not included. Layered reality will tell you that they informed everyone before tickets went on sale but that is undeniably not true. The show itself contains no Elvis until the last part of the show, the 68 special, nothing new or innovative. The actors are trying their best but the show is poor from the very start. I’ve seen better productions at my local school. If you paid VIP rates for tickets at £300 then you would be angry and disappointed at this absolute rip off of a show. The closest you will come to Elvis is a cardboard cut out of him in the blue Hawaii bar which you will most certainly be rushed out of to get to the next part of the show. Save your money and buy the Blu Ray disc of the 68 concert and wait for EPiC to be released at the cinema.
