Steer clear of emma beds.
Ive left it almost two years to write my review, pretty much as i was so disgusted with their lack of customer service and kinda lost heart with it all. I would not recommend this company at all!!
I ordered a double bed, with 4 underbed storage drawers and an emma original mattress. My delivery came in 3 separate instalments and when rhenus (the delivery company) contact you to arrange a date and approx time…. There isnt much options….. but i persevered 3 times and eventually i had it all delivered. I was moving into a new property, so the packaging wasn't opened until i had completed my move.
The bed wasn't that easy to put together, but we did get there in the end, although it took a lot longer than i ever thought it would.
I opened the drawers and assembled them, which was easy enough, only to discover that one of my drawers was the wrong colour. When i contacted their customer service and navigated my way round their bots and got an actual human….and showed them photo evidence of their error, they agreed and asked me to package up the incorrect drawer for collection and they would then send me the correct one. Given that i wasn't that impressed with their customer service in the build up to my delivery, i only agreed to send the incorrect drawer back once i had received the correct one . They eventually agreed to this. I informed them multiple times that my address had changed and to send the correct drawer to my new address… which i provided…. multiple times and NOT to deliver it to the address that they had shipped everything else to. Il let you guess what happened. The drawer was returned to sender and after much to-ing and fro-ing back and forth, i just gave up.
My bed still has one wrong coloured drawer, not the end of the world, but when i forked out £1300 for everything i was expecting a good quality product and decent customer service for any issues, i got neither for my money.
The bed is sturdy enough, the drawers are ok and strong enough to hold a lot of stuff.
Emma provide a weird pointless sheet to go between wooden slats and mattress, which is held in place by velcro, the velcro doesnt catch very well and the sheet moves, because of this it bobbles and tears the mattress fabric when changing bedding and my own fitted sheets get bobbled and torn when the bed is made up.
The mattress itself is bang average and not anything like the simba i had before it!!
All in all, pretty shocking and not worth the money, good luck getting anything done from their customer service, if you can even get through at all.
As i said its almost and only two years ago since i bought this, but its became uncomfy and really the whole experience from ordering onwards has been a disgrace. I decided to leave this review before i go and buy and a new bed and mattress, as now that im back in the new bed market this current one is annoying me and the whole experience has come flooding back.
Should mention aswell the cost of one drawer was £120 when i asked for a refund they refused as they had tried to deliver the correct one (to my old address) i ended up going to my bank and requesting a chargeback for the cost of the drawer, which emma beds had the chance to dispute, but they never did, so i did get £120 back… eventually.
There are cheaper, better quality options out there. I would steer clear of emma beds if you want minimal hassle and decent customer service.
